WaterFire Kansas City

This is a great, free, arts and culture event that is family friendly in KC. With the country club plaza and Brush Creek as its backdrop, artists of many types (musicians, dancers, performers, fire breathers, etc.) perform their talents for all to see while fires blaze on the creek. There were definite lulls in the performances or acts that were less interesting, but usually within ten minutes you were on to the next act. It is in the late fall so dress appropriately. Bring a blanket, flask, cider, and some snacks and you'll be set for a cheap date night. They do have food and drink booths if you prefer that method. There are lots of people, but you can find your own space if you look for it. Try it out!

Really neat, free, family friendly event. Pretty packed, but not unreasonable. We honestly stumbled upon it and decided to watch some of the performers. I would say,m come prepared with warm clothes, some snacks and a lawn chair. There were food trucks and plenty of port-a-potties (is that how you spell it???). It's right on the river, right off the plaza. It was an interesting experience.
