This coffee shop was a nice little treat to find after staying in downtown K.C for N.Y.'s E. and it was fortuitous to find it open on New Year's Day. I had a mocha latte that was pretty good and my husband enjoyed the drip coffee. Unfortunately, they didn't have any breakfast options, so we both had muffins, a blueberry and a cranberry orange that was good. I did notice that they offer a simple ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. The place is pretty big, but could use a few more comfortable spots if you have a laptop. The only drawback I found was that they music was a bit loud especially after a quiet New Year's Day. The coffee shop is a great addition to the downtown area, and I'm sure it's beneficial for anyone who wants to grab a good cup of coffee before they head into work in the downtown area.

Lovely coffee spot in DTKC. I think they're probably the best in the immediate area and maybe the best I had during my visit there. I highly recommend trying them while you're in the area.

Stopped by this coffee shop this afternoon for a quick pick me up for a date and it did not disappoint! I ordered a butterscotch latte because I saw other people order that on here. It was very tasty!! I could definitely taste the butterscotch. I could tell the guy making it was taking his time to make it good which I heavily appreciate. We also ordered protein balls which tasted amazing!!! Highly recommend those for sure. Another thing I really liked about this place is the overall vibe, there are old chairs for seating which makes it super unique. I would love to come here when it's warm outside to sit by the windows and feel the heat. Unfortunately today it was bitter cold so we did not want to sit by the windows! I will definitely be returning and recommending this to other friends!

I was in town for a conference and determined to have some local coffee. Waterbird was on my list and I made the walk over from my hotel during a thunder storm. I loved the vibe. The decor is great, the wording on the wall is very good. The coffee was delicious, and balanced. It was so good. The guy working was friendly, helpful, and a great barista. If you're in downtown P&L I recommend it.

Cool newer spot downtown! It's great to see businesses doing well in the northeast side of downtown. Waterbird has a cool industrial/metal type feel to it with plenty of space and a lot of natural light. The seasonal coffee drinks were very good! Not a ton of food options but let's be real, you're there for the coffee. Loved it!

Waterbird is a cute coffee shop that has a small selection of pastries as well. The space it's in has large windows, which lets in lots of sunshine, and they have a fair amount of seating, making it a good place to study and work at.I found my matcha latte to be good, but pretty standard, lighter on the matcha flavor than I like. The strawberry cream cheese muffin was nice and moist and came with a small pad of cream cheese.Service was a bit slow here. They only had one person working and I felt a bit bad for how busy he was kept between taking orders and prepping everyone's food and drinks.

I've read good things about this place on yelp and despite the high praises, we were the only ones there aside from the barista a little before 10 on a Thursday. Must have been a slow day but I'm not mad about having the whole space to ourselves. There's an industrial retro boho vibe with lots of art decorating the walls here. The space is small but spacious and had lots of seating. I was unfamiliar with the type of music playing at the time but it was chill enough for us to make some calls and get some work done in the time we spent there. I'm a lavender latte girl and I've had my fair share of lavendar lattes across the country from when I did a west to east and back roadtrip and I can tell you from experience, they know how to make it right here. Syrups here are made in house! The menu is small but it's all the essentials with some flavor if you want!

Completely delicious brown sugar cappuccino! And my friend loved her iced butterscotch latte. Waterbird is an inclusive coffee shop for the daily drinker with great coffee and an unpretentious environment. They use Lawrence's Repetition Coffee beans and have seasonally rotating specialty drinks, like a pistachio rose latte with housemade syrup. They serve pastries by Scratch Bakery with a few grab-and-go sandwiches.

Yum. A solid coffee shop on the east side of downtown.Great spot to remote from. It's quiet and even though is kinda small it feels roomy. Great art on the walls - space feels industrial. Creative coffee and tea options. Milk alternatives. Reasonable prices. Pastries and a few lunch burritos to choose from.Metered street pkg available.
