Wahlburgers @ Hy-Vee

Placed a to go order and waited for what seemed like forever. At the 20 minute mark, I commented to Ireland (who was working the register) and she apologized for the wait. A few minutes later, she let me know she had told the manager and he was now back helping in the kitchen. It was a 30 minutes wait for my order. The super melt was cooked perfectly. The bread was perfectly toasted and buttery and the burger was cooked to my requested medium well. My girlfriend said her crispy chicken sandwich was the best she has had in a long time. The tots were crispy and delicious. The jalepeno bacon wontons were just average.

I had higher expectations for the food since I've been to the one in Overland Park. The bread was not toasted and the cheese was a dollop (not evenly spread) making each bite a little soggy and surprise of cheese or not. I asked for a medium patty but it looks to be more well done. Overall, for a restaurant that's located in a grocery store, it was okay. There is tons of space inside for you to sit inside and it was not busy at all. So, ordering was done easily at the counter and they bring the food out fairly quickly. But the quality of the food was poor, which brought the experience lower. On the plus side, we were able to go grocery shopping after with a full stomach.

The customer service was beyond very poor! They are rude & disrespectful! I did not enjoy being yelled at because I asked where something was on the menu I seen someone else order! "OHH THATS A SPECIAL REQUEST - DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID" this is how I was responded to.... wow really sir/ ma'am or whatever you are!

Did not know what to expect based on reviews. This location is inside a grocery store. Ordered the Our Burger or Paul burger, medium. It was quite good, juicy and tasty. Kind of pricey when you add a side. I would recommend giving this place a try.

Hey folks. I was excited to try this location because Of the Wahlburger name even if it was located inside of Hy-Vee. First, entered the restaurant and waited at the host stand and no one greeted us. Many Hu-bee workers just passing us looking. Finally, after about 5 minutes one of the restaurant workers told us we had to go order outside the restaurant at a counter where they ring up other HyVee deli services and get a number. We order a double burger, Swiss cheese, bacon, mushrooms and fries. We had a crispy chicken sandwich with onion rings. Total was a stunning $30 plus. Waited over 20 minutes for the food that we got to go. In the meantime, we observed several other confused customers walk into the restaurant with the same expression. We then observed the kitchen seem to work at a snails pace and many burgers just left under the heat lamps. We finally got our to go order and I made a suggestion to the older lady ringing us up and another lady who I assumed was the manager that they should put a sign up at the host station directing people to the counter. They immediately became defensive and stated "this is how corporate wants it". I replied, that's not what your customers want and that I was surprised they wouldn't accept a piece of advice. After being tired of the attitude and long wait, we were underwhelmed by the food quality. My burger was just "ok" and fries pretty standard. My friends chicken was also ok but he felt he could have made it better at home. He hated the onion rings. Bottom line, terrible customer service, high prices, and low food quality don't mix well. Spend your hard earned money someplace else because these people don't seem to care. I'm sure the Wahlburger family cares but these HyVee workers don't.

Great service and happy hour !!! Strange how good of service you get inside the Hy-Vee grocery store restaurant. Definitely going back.

Burgers were good. One was a little too done, ordered 3 at med well. Onion rings, which are usually our favorite, were not the same. They are always cut thin and lightly battered, these were cut thicker and there was virtually no batter. We are dissatisfied at this order enough to go elsewhere nextime.

Finally had a chance to see what Wahlburger was all about ... The Bench Mark for all Burgers for Me is Shake Shack ... and to My Surprise .... Wahlburger exceeded My Expectations .... I ordered the PBJ Burger & Tots .... Having read others concerns regarding the Sandwich Size, I assure you if you order any of their Doubles ... You'll leave Stuffed ! The PBJ does have Peanut Butter ... but the J really stands for a Bacon Onion Jam, not Jelly .... It is an Explosion of Flavor .... The Cheese is Melted between the Pattie's ... add the Peanut Butter and Bacon Onion Jam & it Melds together Perfectly The Basket of Tots was Crispy ... and there are more than you think .... Almost filled a To Go container with the left overs Sitting at the Bar you still get the Great Service from the Hy Vee Bartenders .... Same Great Atmosphere and at the Bar you get Full Service instead of Walk Up and sit at a Table waiting for your Food .... Thumbs Up - Great Food ... at the Bar, Same Great Service - Burger lived up to the Hype

Expensive!!$$!! Jalapeño Wontons were very good. Burger was good but not worth the $$. Onion Rings were absolutely horrible. Not crispy and absolutely flavorless. Fries were a tad bit better than the fries. Was excited to try, but horribly let down. Will not eat there again.

I love leaving reviews especially when they are great reviews! Unfortunately this one will not be that.Compared to the actual walhburgers restaurant, this one in hyvee tastes nothing like the actual restaurant. The burgers are extremely greasy. The bottom bun is always soggy because of the grease. The onion strips have been burnt 2x. We went when they first opened and thought the food was bad because they were so busy. We tried it again and it was still bad. I have a dairy allergy. The 2 times we went there I asked for no cheese or sauce on my burger. I just stated I'm qllergic to dairy. I wasn't asking for a completely different burger.just no cheese or sauce. Both times it came out with no sauce but had cheese melted on the burger. Both times they remade it but acted like it was a huge inconvenience. Both times it said on our receipt no cheese so I know it wasn't the cashiers fault. The 2nd times excuse was they just make so many burgers that their used to putting on all the toppings. Both times were an extra 10 minute wait ,since there busy and served others first,to get my burger again well the rest of my party ate theirs. So if you have any food allergies ,definitely do not come here as they don't take it seriously and can't follow a simple order to exclude the cheese. I gave it 2 stars since the tator tots are good. The fries and bacon are soaked in grease as well. If you love the taste of grease and grease dripping everywhere you'll love this restaurant then.I'm very disappointed since the actual stand alone restaurant is so good and completely different then this one in hyvee. I appreciate in this day and age that employees are coming into work but training is definitely lacking here. It's affecting the quality and taste of the burgers .I won't be giving it a 3rd try ,even to try something that's not a burger, as they don't take allergies seriously here . It's not enjoyable eating well the rest of your table is done eating. I'm sure hyvee doesn't read these but by chance you see this,please retrain your employees. This restaurant has so much potential if the food was cooked properly and customers orders were listened to.
