We had the absolute best experience at The Vox! On top of being such a beautiful space, the manager Anna eliminated any possible stressor of the day. She listened to exactly what we wanted, and the set up that we walked into will be talked about by us all for years. We were able to cater our own food, bring in our own drinks, and Anna created a beautiful playlist to add to the evening. I would recommend The Vox to anybody who was looking for an event space!

The Vox Theatre is a unique place to hold a reception. The walls are white with a grand, red curtain up front and there all all sorts of fun pictures lining the walls. The place is small but can hold a lot of people. I wouldn't necessarily consider it sophisticated, but rather very cute. I attended a reception that was beautifully decorated. Everyone involved with the wedding had a fantastic time.

I have driven past this place hundreds of times in my lifetime and never knew what this place was or what this place had been. It's truly amazing what can sit behind a nondescript facade in an industrial part of town. It makes me happy beyond words when someone puts life and purpose behind these old walls and reinvents the space into something new. That is exactly what happened to this old silent movie house built in 1922. It's now an amazing event space ready to be used for years to come. The space is large and open. Nondescript enough to make it into anything you would ever desire. Great tin ceilings, beautiful wood floors and enough red velvet here and there to provide a great backdrop for a great photo. I believe it has a nice sized kitchen and a great outdoor patio when the weather permits. The location also seems very convenient and centrally located for those that live on either side of the state line. I don't have personal experience dealing with the Vox as I didn't rent the space, I have just attended a great function at this great venue. I hope everyone has a chance to check out this hidden treasure of a space and discover something new in something that is truly old.

We had our wedding at the Vox and cannot say enough good things! My wife and I hate, hate, hate the typical banquet hall wedding experience, which is why we both loved the Vox. It's unique, with a great red curtain, open floor concept, and awesome tin ceiling. Nichole and Chad were both an absolute pleasure to work with from Day 1! The price is fair, location convenient (right off I-35), and they let any caterer in without charging you - nice! There are also some neat, unique photo opportunities nearby, including the underpass and playground across the street. We got so many complements on the venue that we knew we chose the right place. Also, our DJ said the acoustics were great, just to throw that in there.

I hosted my girlfriend's birthday party at the Vox Theater and couldn't have been more impressed with both the indoor and outdoor accommodations of the facility. I worked directly with their in-house event coordinator Brooke and can't speak highly enough about her professionalism, ideas and commitment to making sure we had the best experience while hosting our event at the Vox. I also wanted to high light her genuine attitude as she went out of her way to make our guests feel special. In particular she noticed one of our guests son's was very interested in helping out organizing at the end of the event while we were wrapping up. Brooke went out of her way to impact this boys day and make him feel like he was making a difference. If you have a wedding, birthday, small or large scale event, I would strongly encourage you to reach to Brooke at the Vox Theater.

o hai, Vox! Went here for the first time a few weeks ago for Kansas City Design Week where we held an event. There was plenty of parking around the area (I parked across the street at the park...I'm a bit curious as to why no one else really parked there, but I didn't get a ticket or anything so it was all gravy). The space isn't too big nor was I breathing down someone's neck. There was a convenient place for coats and the open area is just a great space and the acoustics weren't too bad! There were a few technical problems (wasn't sure if it was the Vox's fuse box or if it was the equipment being used) but it was recovered gracefully. The staff is courteous and easy to work with.Reading a few fellow posts, I saw a lot of weddings happen here...I never would've thought of that but the pics are fab. I would definitely consider the space for a reception or gathering!

Vox did a fantastic job helping coordinate our wedding (while we were planning from Korea). They worked well with our cooridator, caterer, photographer and other vendors, also helping with recommendations when we were stuck on who to ask. With the exception of a bum microphone, the night was nothing short of magical and we got countless comments on how unique, beautiful and classy the Vox was as a venue. (If I could give them 4.5 stars, I would but silly Yelp won't let me)

LOVED THIS PLACE! We just got married last weekend, and the space was beautiful. The staff was beyond accommodating and so great to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a beautiful venue and a friendly staff. If I could get married there every weekend - I would!

Doug and Cailan's beautiful wedding reception at the Vox Theatre was elegant yet fun! The Vox Theatre first opened for business in 1922 as a silent movie house, called the Rosedale Theatre, and was renamed as The Vox in the 1940's. Many of the space's original architectural features have been preserved, including the full antique, pressed tin ceiling, and authentic stage valence complete with theatre lighting and velvet curtains. The highlight of the night was the ShutterBooth photo booth rental of Kansas City!!! The ShutterBooth was in a perfect location right next to the dance floor. The guests even danced in the photo booth while taking pictures! A copy of all the photos were placed in the scrap book for the bride and groom to enjoy after the event. The Vox is a wonderful place to host a special event and I would recommend it to anyone.

We had our wedding there last month and it was okay. It was very hard to get a hold of someone there after the event coordinator changed. Also the day of our event the coordinator told us one time to come in and set up but had someone else there in the morning telling us we were not able too. HUGE headache the day of our wedding!!! It was a beautiful event regardless and the event staff was more than helpful. Just very conflicting information between the morning person and the coordinator we set things up with. All I can say is to keep on them if you want any type of contact. We really wished that Kate would had stayed and helped us with the event!!!
