No issues with vball beach, I come to fill in for leagues or play in some tournaments. The nets and polls are color coded for easy visual location of your game. The inside is something be desired, I know what look they are going for but I just feel like it's dirty and not cleaned. Bathrooms never have soap dispensers working properly or paper towels to dry up it hands. Super frustrating! If they did some small updates indoors I think it would look all around better. The courts back up to railroad tracks so it's very loud when a train goes by, deafening really. They wet the courts down in the summer when it's really hot out. In the winter they dome off a portion for indoor leagues. They keep it warm tho, which is a bonus! They have a waitress that comes around and gets drinks and such. Overall, it's fine to play at. I just feel gross when I go inside. Parking is okay, fills up quick and can be hard to find a spot.

I love this place and have been coming here for years. The people truly make this place feel more like a home away from home. The only reason for 4 stars vs 5, I just wish some of patio tables next to the courts were replaced and not falling apart.

I'm not by any means a professional or even semi-pro for that matter... in fact I consider myself a downright mediocre volleyball player... BUT I LOVE COMING TO VOLLEYBALL BEACH!!! our team has participated in the recreational leagues for multiples seasons now (even winter in the bubble!) and we enjoy coming in, drinking a few beers and then getting our butts kicked by other teams in the good sporting fun of beach volleyball! Occasional wins are a bonus but really we keep coming back for the fun environment, the good selection of beers and fooling ourselves that we are working out (beer in hand)! Now we are part of the C league, but there are definitely competitive A and B leagues as well for all you spikers out there. The sand pit is kid friendly and they have hoses to clean up. Their bar staff is friendly and they do serve food (though i haven't tasted their munchables yet). The leagues fill up pretty quickly, so grab some buddies and snag your spot asap!

Volleyball Beach is located in Kansas City, MO is a great place to join a social or competitive sand volleyball league. Volleyball Beach is humongous, it supports hundreds of volley-ballers, and is almost always at full capacity. There is a bar that serves modestly priced pitchers of beer and cocktails to its patrons. Every time I go there I have a great time, games almost always start on time, match-ups/leagues are competitive and fun, and I usually run into some I know (which can be good or bad). The only downside is that it is located kind of far from the general metro-plex of Kansas City. Its worth the drive, as it seems to have the courts, and social turn out of any sand volleyball courts in town.

Volleyball Beach is an awesome idea! I was recruited to play on a friend's team, and I've been playing ever since! I especially enjoy that I am able to play sand volleyball in the winter here! They have a huge tent over their courts that is warm, but not overheated. The wait staff is great, they come around and take drink orders as you play. They have music on, loud enough to hear but not so loud you can't hear your teammates. There are plenty of tables and chairs to put your stuff on. I appreciate that they have several different leagues depending on how seriously you want to play. My team is on the C League, because we are just playing for fun, and most of us have never played volleyball before. They also have an A and B leagues for the more intense players. The games usually last about an hour, and within your league you can choose what is your preferred night to have games. There nothing quite like being able to feel the sand between your toes and play volleyball with friends when its 28 degrees outside! I'd definitely recommend Volleyball Beach.

My company reserves the entire place for a few hours every year for an office event and it's always great fun. The atmosphere is laid back, the staff are nice and the courts are well-maintained.The only minus is the location. It's not exactly in the heart of things...fairly far south on Holmes. It's also right next to busy railroad tracks, so the trains coming through can be distracting.

Great environment, great people. Prices are more than acceptable when you consider the entire experience. Would recommend to anyone.

I did not even know what this place was before I was recruited for company volleyball. Upon arrival, though, I instantly fell in love with this place. It's a bar as well as volleyball park. I'm unsure about the logistics of renting court space/entering their league. But to go there and just drink and watch volleyball. I really enjoyed playing there as well. There are servers that go to each court and take orders and if you don't see a server - you can text your order to them! So cool! They offer lessons, too!I can't wait to go back for a longer review.

Volleyball beach needs some serious upgrades. It's competitors far outdo them in quality and cleanliness. Please consider updating your establishment before our teams take our business elsewhere. The restrooms are in scuzzy condition, there are loose wires in the sand/near the courts that could easily cause injury.. and there is no barrier to keep balls from going into the dangerous perimiters on the north and east sides of the court. It seems like rather than putting some of the money they earn into their establishment, they would rather pocket it. Though Shawnee Mission Beach is a trek for a lot of us, we'll likely start playing there full-time from now on.
