Viva Tacos & Tequila - Olathe

My husband and I love to try new places and this looked intresting. Mix of nodern and traditional on the inside. The staff who greeted and waited on us was friendly and helpful with any questions. Their menu has a good variety of choices in food as well as beverages. We tried their 4 margarita flight (also comes in 3 or 6). We had lime, tamarind, strawberry and sangria flavors. My husband had their cantina burrito. It was a decent size and had good flavor. I had the taco flight (steak, grilled chicken, carnitas, pastor or mixed). I chose the mix. It was seasoned well and was very filling. We will definitely be back.

Had another absolutely terrible experience!!! I know I said I wouldn't give this place a single penny EVER again, but I believe in second chances, and this second chance, was the biggest mistake of my LIFE!!! And it all ties back to the horrible manager Emanuel who was on shift that day, that did not care what me or any of my friends had to say about the service. The most disrespectful unprofessional manager I have met in my life. And I have a management background for years, and was thoroughly disgusted with his behavior and how he spoke to a patron acquiring about their service they received. It started with absolutely terrible terrible service!!! I arrived at 11:30 AM.Despite ordering our drinks immediately, they were only served at 12:00 PM.During this time, we observed two parties arriving after us, having their orders taken and food served before we were even asked if we were ready to order. These parties arrived approximately 20 minutes after us.At 12:04 PM, our orders were finally taken.We received our food at 12:22 PM.We finished our meal at 12:35 PM and waited for our checks until 12:50 PM. Our entire party agreed that the food was absolute TRASH and they don't do a thing to make you feel comfortable or check up on you to see how your food was. I paid for two people, and noticed a 20% base gratuity tip was automatically added. This policy does not allow patrons to tip based on service performance, as a 20% tip is charged regardless, which I find unacceptable and highly illegal.So I did make sure to add 0% additional gratuity to my tip, and submit this to the evidence I already have against this establishment, to finally create a lawful lawsuit against them. Due to this experience, I will not be returning to this establishment and once again I will advise, do NOT give these people ANY of your money!! Do not let them get away with such acts of disservice!

My family and I eat mexican at least once a week, so I was excited to see a new place in town. Someone has definitely put a lot of work in the place. It was nicely appointed, with a hip, modern look that definitely sets it apart from most local mexican restaurants. Unfortunately, that's where the fun ended.The chips and salsa came out in a timely fashion. They were ok, but nothing special. We figured the wait person would be along right after to take our drink and appetizer order, but that wasn't the case. We waited so long, that I was trying to decide whether to approach someone working in the restaurant to find us a waiter, or just leave. About the time we were just going to walk out, our waitress finally came and took our order. She was mostly friendly, but spoke so softly that I had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times. We decided to go ahead and order our entrees to avoid any other delays, which is unfortunate, as we like to enjoy a drink and some espinaca while waiting for the main course. I ordered a large margarita and an order of cheese dip. I was charged for a large on both, but they were both small by other restaurant's standards, and on the very high end of large pricing. The dip was ok, the margarita wasn't worth ordering another. The food itself came pretty quickly, and was ok. Everything was pretty middle of the road- nothing bad, but nothing memorable. Service continued to be extremely poor, as we ran out of chips, drinks, and a few other things before the waitress returned. Needless to say, we were disappointed with the entire visit. I assume this is locally owned, and we love to support local businesses, but we will not be returning.

The service was good however, the food with something that you could Make at home. The ceviche was not worth the $20. I would say this place is just ok I would not go out of my way to come back. Everything is pretty pricey.

A New Mexican restaurant in the old Wahlberg restaurant. Nice bright lights and very inviting. Once inside they give you that let's have some fun atmosphere. The waitress was on point with waters and explaining the menu. We tried the taco flight which comes with 4 tacos of chicken, carnitas, steak or pastor. Lots of flavor and enjoyed each one. The salsa was good and one suggestion is to get the fresh guacamole instead of the kitchen guacamole. I also took home the trio enchiladas. I personally love the flavors and want to return for the drinks. The manager also made himself present for the customers. Overall, a great experience for my friend and myself.

Amazing newly opened spot in Olathe.The wife and I came in for lunch and were not disappointed.Being from southern Cali we have a high standard for mexican food and Viva delivered!The decor, vibe, and service were just as incredible as the food.We will for sure be back.

I enjoyed the fast, friendly service, extensive menu, reasonable lunch prices and colorful interior at this new restaurant during my opening week dine-in lunch.My make-your-own lunch combo ($8) included choice of entrée, rice and beans. I added "supreme" toppings for $2. The meal was served six minutes after I ordered at the table, which gave me time to dig into the complimentary thin, crispy chips and mild salsa. The burrito had a generous amount of tasty ground beef, and the supreme toppings were fresh and tasty, while the rice and beans were just okay.I found the service and staff to be cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful. I also received a satisfaction check from the manager.I noticed a lengthy bar with several TVs, a covered patio with rollup garage doors and a clean, nice, spacious dining area with two large murals, lively Mexican background music and a mix of booths and tables.Very mice.

Clean and very beautiful art & design!I loved all the murals, decor, and plants (even if they were fake, the artistic design was fabulous!)Service was the best part! Everyone had a great attitude this Sunday evening. Our server did have a hard time understanding all of our English, and did neglect to explain extra charges for certain items, but any concern we had was competently and professionally addressed.They have a ton of fun frozen drink options, including a six drink $30 flight of frozen margaritas, or an option for just three ($16) or four ($20) flavors in your flight as well. I tried the classic house margarita - small quantity, but fresh and delicious!Tons of menu variety! It has a ton of your classic Mexican fair, but includes fun choices such as street elote corn, ceviche, a flight of taquitos, interesting soups, and lots of pineapple and chorizo sprinkled throughout the menu. Really creative!I love a good quick service burrito and taco joint, but if you're looking for a creative and beautiful sit-down twist to Mexican cuisine, go try it out! And if you get the churros - They were fresh and AMAZING without any toppings!Also - sport fans - they have many TVs to enjoy your favorite games!

We have eaten here a couple times and each time we find a new favorite dish! Today it's the Tequila Special and the Cantina Burrito. Both highly recommended!! The staff is fast, efficient, and friendly!

Viva tacos is a New Mexican spot that opened up in Olathe. My first thoughts walking into the building they really went above and beyond with the interior and decor. They spent a lot of money and I hope this place is around the long haul. The staff were great and super friendly. They have a wide range of margaritas you can a try and they also have margarita flights. I got the quesabirras tacos. You don't see a lot of birria options in Kansas. So I had to order and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the meat. The taco tortilla held up well and also came with rice and beans. Also their salsa and queso are great I can't wait to check out this place again.
