I hate that I only go here when it's cold or rainy, but I'm usually craving pho pretty hard in those weather conditions so the visits stay frequent.Vietnam Cafe is my favorite place to get pho. I usually opt for pho with beef. I wish I could say I've tried more items in the menu, but it's pretty much all pho when I visit.There's always a table available and the service is always pretty fast. You can't count on a quick lunch if that's what you're looking for.

Ever since I road past the old location no longer standing, I've been on the hunt for this place for some time now. I had no clue they moved it until a few weeks ago I was in mild traffic and saw it's in the new KU building downstairs. I was in the area the other day and decided to come have lunch here. This is where I first had pho and I would literally eat here just about every day.I must say I was surprisingly let down, the pho use to be a 10/10. The brisket use to be seasoned very well and tender as well as the broth. This time not so much, I'm a firm believer in second chances so next time I'm in the area I'll give it another go round. The service was meh, the server only came to bring water, my food and to drop off my ticket off. I was never asked if I needed anything or was the food ok. Better luck next time.

I ordered the to go combination pho and was a bit disappointed. There was barely any meat and the meat that came with it was already cooked? Usually when you order to go, the meat is not cooked and it is cooked in the hot broth that is given. The meat was a huge dissatisfaction. It also only came with a tiny packet of sriracha and hook sauce. The only positive thing I would note is the fast service since I got my order in 10 minutes. Usually, I love Vietnam Cafe but this time I was disappointed.

Decent food, good service, great convenience. We went down to meet a couple friends in the area and took their recommendation of something that was reliable and delicious. We were seated immediately and the friendly waiter brought over drinks and menus. This restaurant provided a welcoming escape from the frigid winter temperatures. I ordered the spicy chicken curry. I wasn't blown away, but it was solid. I expected more food and a bit more flavor, but it came very quickly and certainly hit the spot. The rest of the table ordered pho to warm themselves up and it was well enjoyed. Cilantro tastes soapy to me so I didn't love the bites I got to try, but I was impressed with the quantity of that dish and the noodles were excellent.

Such an iconic family-owned business! I have fond memories of visiting their old location regularly, so I was excited to try it out again after some time.The food was solid--nothing overly complex or mind-blowing, but it was good, comforting Vietnamese cuisine that hit the spot. The staff was wonderful, consistently attentive and helpful throughout our visit.The ambiance was a bit lacking--nothing special in terms of decor or aesthetics, but it was clean, and that's what really counts. :)

This is one of my go-to spots when I need a little rice or noodle. They have plenty of vegetarian options which is great, and the Thai tea is delicious. I love both locations, but especially this one on Rainbow. It's very cozy.
