The Unity Temple's main purpose is a church who serves its community. It's also a space that can be rented out for a variety of functions: Guest speakers, music performance, photography exhibits, book signings, conferences and more. Please feel free to browse the venue's website and social media pages for more info. There's a little bit of everything. The staff is polite and happy to help. Parking is also available in the parking garage behind the venue.Minor drawbacks include tight-fitting chairs, some stiff sightlines if you're in the balcony, narrow stairs and the bathrooms being in the basement.

I've been here for book signings, conventions and morning Meditation. I love the Unity Temple. It's a fantastic piece of KC history. They do a great job of keeping it clean and accessible. There is free parking right next door too. I would recommend coming here for the temple Buddhist centers meditation on Sundays. It's a great way to start the week.

Unity lives up to its name, bringing unity to all faiths (or non-faiths) by providing inclusive services, meditations, and great guest speakers year round. I went to Unity years back to see NYT author Mark Bittman talk about the future of food and enjoyed the easy in and out of the space which is surrounded by parking garages. The big auditorium is nice as well. This past time, I went for a Sunday morning meditation in silence (15 minutes) followed by a talk about silence. We entered through the furthest west door on 47th street (the main drag of the Plaza) and arrived right as it started at 10:30 a.m. The session itself definitely had the effect of restarting the computer, so to speak. That fifteen minutes of silence where you sink deeper and deeper really does get your mind quiet and refocused, no matter what your denomination. I have Christian friends who love Unity, Buddhist friends, Jewish friends.. and this day and age, that's pretty cool if you ask me. Try this place out to change it up sometime.

I discovered Unity Temple on the Plaza over 10 years ago. I instantly felt welcome. In the last decade I have attended numerous classes, events and Sunday services. The ministers, Duke & Sandra are wonderful. The choir and soloists are the best! This is a place where ALL are welcome. Check it out...you won't be disappointed.

I don't attend church here, but I've gone to several of Unity's functions. Plus, you can say I frequently eat their restaurant in the basement. The functions they provide, from my Akashic Record Practitioner training, to Rainbow Book's author signing, to yoga classes, very impressive. They have Reiki classes going on in one room, and a Bible study going on in the next room. I think that's kind of cool. I guess I'm trying to say the nondenominational churches are amazing. They allow all religions: Buddah, Christian, others. Plus, I believe they have services with musical guests. To step inside, beyond Eden Alley, and sneak a peek at the beautiful stained glass windows is captivating. If there's no event going on, go in and take a break, and you'll see what I mean. it's really a nice place. Hopefully they can get the bookstore figured out, and back up and running.

I don't think I have been here for a service, but for many other options, I have enjoyed my visits to Unity. Unity hosts a lot of book signings, I have been for Hillary and Anne Rice. They know how to keep the lines moving and the area is nice for speakers. My favorite event is the annual (nex year they will be through twice!) sand mandala creation. It is really an amazing process to watch and begs multiple trips during the week the monks are in town to watch the progress. Unity offers both a Christian service and a Buddhist service. They have many different classes and programs to participate in. And not affiliated, but attached, a must stop restaurant Eden Alley.Great, very welcoming environment.

I'm so thankful Unity Temple on the Plaza exists. If I would've been exposed to Unity as a young person- I would've become a spiritual person much earlier in my life and hence, would've become mentally and emotionally healthier sooner. This hits all the marks for me- nonjudgemental, all accepting, aligning with nature, being grateful for everything- the good and the bad. Unity has given me the tools to use in life I can rely on and I 100% support and recommend Unity Temple. Thank you. Here's a good overview and the 5 principles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unity_Church

I just watched the live stream of the Sunday service. It was both informative and calming. I'm sure the service will be posted on the website. It is worth checking out.
