This is one of my favorite stops during our annual holiday trip to Kansas City. Decorated for the holiday's and this year my husband and I had the chance to participate in the Disney 100 traveling exhibition that is traveling through. It really was a fun trip. We also stopped by a couple small businesses in the station while we waited for our time on our tickets(which was Rally House and Rocky Mountain Chocolate company-where I picked up do KC Merchandise, cookies for the hubby and I got to pick some chocolates for me). I also got a chance to get some great pictures of the holiday decorations which makes my holiday. Thank you Union Station for preserving such a great legacy. So many stories to be told and created.

Decided to stop by here on our last day in KC. We had enough time to check out two of the exhibit's:Planetarium - watch a film that was about 20 mins; not the most exciting activity but the film was very educational. Holiday Reflections- this one is perfect for those wanting to do walk through Christmas lights and take lots of photos. They also had a holiday model train exhibit as well at no cost once you paid to enter the holiday reflections exhibit. I did notice that there were additional activities for children inside like a virtual sleigh ride and train ride but for an additional cost.Additionally we were able to visit the entry walk area to the Disney 100 exhibit and view the displays outside. If you want to see the full exhibit you can do so for an additional cost. They also have stores and a couple cafe/bistros inside. Overall it a good place to stop by when visiting the city.

Very nice inside with great architecture. Union Station has an Amtrak link and a few restaurant and bar options. They have attractions inside like a Museum of illusions , theater, escape room, restaurants, Science City and more. It was clean and spacious though not much public seating unless you were eating at a restaurant. They also have a Rally's shop where you can buy souvenirs. A self playing piano was also inside which was cool. When I went they were decorating for Christmas so parts of the station were closed off. At night a lot of things can be closed so check schedules. It can feel very eerie and empty around that time. But during the day it was lively. Overall a fun stop and it's closed to the street car drop off and pick up and has a link bridge connecting it to the Westin.

I have always enjoyed checking out union station when there are events going on, to look at history, or even when it's empty! Even when it is empty, the building is gorgeous and holds so much history. There are pictures on the walls that describe history in kc and how it pertains to union station. Also, with it being attached to the amtrack, there are cool miniature train models there as well. It is always fun when the chiefs win the AFC championship or the superbowl because they decorate the place in chiefs gear! That is what these pictures include from today! One of my favorite things to do is walk through union station, and then walk along the bridge toward crown center. The view of the city is great and then it allows you to explore multiple places in one! Parking is $12 which I think is ridiculous! So, to get free parking, park on the street and walk in or park near the world war museum! Either way, there is lots of parking!

This Union station has only the paid front parking. It is at the center of city transportation. Just below the war memorial. The station also located at the Main Street where all the transit transportation connects to the city market at the river. It is perfect for the out skirt worker in downtown to take the train to suburban. The station does not have many gate but it is definitely a good hop for travelers. The decorations are very simple. I do like the arrival hall and restaurant located inside. Overall is a functional train station

So much fun just looking around and enjoying the history and beautiful station. We've been many times and will be back again. The garage parking is $15 and well worth it. The street car has a stop right side and can take you to the city market and other places alone the way. Make a day of it. A fun summer staycation in KC.

We went to Union Station to see a play by the Kansas City Actors Theatre. It was called "Gaslight" and we enjoyed it very much. Union Station was super cool! They had it all decked out in celebration of the Chiefs win of the AFC championship. I loved the touch of Jason Kelce posters everywhere. They have a wonderful sense of humor.Parking was plentiful both in front of the station and in the parking garage. Be advised to park in front is double or triple the price, but it is more convenient. Most of the things inside the station were closed as we went at about 7 PM. The concession stand in the basement was still open when we got there and people were getting some treats for the play and also I think there were people there watching a movie. It's hard to say anything bad about such an icon of our city. It's a lovely place and I enjoy being here every chance I get.
