We came here for brunch, the hubs and I. Nice place and very busy. I ordered a Peach Belini and he ordered.....something with lavender. I liked his more than mine. For food, I had the Benedict and he also had that. Next time, I'll get the chicken and waffles. The Benedict was good but I think the chicken and waffles would have been better. Or waitstaff was nice and everything was hot. I'm pretty sure we will be back.

Union On The Hill was my first stop for dinner while in KC and it did not disappoint. For food, I started with the wings and had the Halibut Seafood Risotto special for my main. The wings were delicious! They were moist, flavorful, perfectly cooked, came out piping hot, and definitely exceeded expectations. The Halibut was perfectly seasoned and cooked to my preference. The dish also came with seafood risotto and broccolini, which were nice accompaniments to the protein. Overall, it didnt blow me away, but it was a solid dish. The service was great and really stood out. The food came out quickly...not too quick to make you question it, but quick enough to demonstrate the food was freshly made and the kitchen is run very efficiently. The bartenders were great and checked in regularly. I came on a Saturday and this place was booming...reservations are highly recommended. Definitely check it out!

I'd say overall the experience was pleasant, but not without some peculiarity - mainly from the kitchen.I ordered the shrimp and grits. I am VERY picky about grits, and these were pretty good. 8/10... The thing that was a little strange was that I was served 3 shrimp but there were 4 shrimp tails? If you are going to charge high end prices, you need to have high end attention to detail.Still, the service was good, the manager was understanding and apologized- I would consider returning in hopes that they up their game to a level of quality commensurate of their prices.

With reservations, 8 of us went for brunch on a Saturday. All of the food and drinks came out in timely fashion, especially considering our party size. The bread basket was very unique - grilled donut, jalapeño cornbread, monkey bread, and more. All of the brunch cocktails sounded fantastic but we opted for mimosas for the table. Everyone loved their meal. The decor throughout the entire restaurant was also very appealing. Highly recommend!

What an incredible restaurant week experience at Union on The Hill and it was icing on the cake to find out this spot is proudly black owned. Kansas City has some amazing hidden neighborhoods and within those micro-neighborhoods you'll find locally owned restaurants that thrive off their built in clientele from surrounding apartment communities. Union on The Hill is tucked away within commercial shops attached to a newer luxury apartment community and the food is outstanding. The interior of the restaurant is classy and modern but, still holds a bistro feel. However, there were people dressed casual at a lunch service but, I will mention the patrons did seem to be an older crowd. That didn't bother me and my lunch date. We were thrilled for the $20 restaurant week lunch menu. The choices did not disappoint, we of course split everything. The appetizers we picked were two very different dishes, one were savory spicy pork belly bites and the other one was a light creamy Greek yogurt onion dip. We would totally return for the first dish, the pork belly bites were crispy with perfectly rendered fat and had pops of intense flavor- you better be ready for a little heat if you order this dish! Now, onto the stars of the show the entree selections we made. The burger here is a must get! If you love the rich depth of flavor caramelized onions add to a burger experience do not miss out on this one because they are so divine on here. The meat blend at Union on The Hill is so high quality, I believe it's Kobe and it makes the burger so melt in your mouth enjoyable. The white cheddar cheese is sharp and cuts through the fat of the meat and the aioli adds a nice creamy condiment that every good burger needs. The other main we sampled were the fish and chips which are on special Fridays for lunch. This was a classic white fish with a light flaky breading and it was served with crispy light house made potato chips instead of fries, which I enjoyed. The entire dish tasted light and not heavy which sometimes fish and chips can be. Also, the zingy citrus lemon laced tartar sauce was so good I had to ask for a second cup of it!

This restaurant was recommended to me as a great brunch spot and WOW, I certainly was not disappointed. With several people in my party wanting to try multiple menu items, I would say they have a great selection. You can probably tell from the photos that the food is high quality with also outstanding presentation. I went with the lobster roll which was delicious. I would get it again but probably not before trying some other delicious options first!I very much appreciate their willingness to accommodate my party of nearly 15 people. Our service was great and we loved the atmosphere. Would love to come back.

Came here for lunch on the first Friday of restaurant week and this place has been on "my list" for months so I was excited!! It was a birthday outing which I'm sure I noted on the reservation but there was no mention of it. We all did the RW menu and sampled each other's first course. The pork belly bites were delicious. The soup of the day was roasted pepper pepper and it was amazing. The devil eggs and onion were fine. I ordered the burger and it was amazing. The fries were just ok. They didn't come with ketchup. I asked for a side of ranch which was $1. The service was very friendly but a little slow which was fine for us. The restaurant is freaking darling!! Loved it! Will definitely be back!

Just amazing. I mean everything you hope for and more. Bright and delightful atmosphere with outdoor seating. Bartender doubled as hostess and server and was lovely. Neither of these are important to me. Cocktail wise the ginebra picante was an offbeat play of a Moscow mule and spicy margarita with gin as the base. yeah. My description won't sell it but let me say it was remarkable. Their $2 oyster daily special were blue points. Yes. I know I'm in Kansas. I also know that these with their accompanying mignonette and chilis were better than most I've had on the coasts this year. I ordered a half dozen and loved them so much I ordered 10 more. Then there the HB Mac and cheese. 5 cheeses. Burnt ends. Crispy rinds. Ultimate comfort food. Sooo comfy. Well worth the visit. Practically perfect in every way.

came here for a restaurant week lunch special! Started out with the dip duo with goat cheese and hummus (which was not on the restaurant week menu but was so yummy). For restaurant week, I got the Caesar salad and the fried rice with short rib. Both were very tasty and unique takes on the dishes. Restaurant was very cute and light on the inside.
