My now-husband and I walked into about 3 other city skyline rentals and when we walked into the UNION, we knew it was the one. The speakeasy is literally so magical and set our dark and moody vibes. It was everything we both wanted. It was so incredibly nice that it's 3 floors, but also includes the rooftop for a gorgeous KC skyline for photos? How much more perfect can it be for us as a city couple?! Walk-thru Wednesdays are a life saver. I believe anyone can walk in, tour the venue, but as a couple, having access to the venue to try out how our centerpieces would like, be there to physically map things out, move tables around, check the lighting, getting video stills beforehand during a gorgeous day made our wedding that much more perfect. We went to the Walk-Thru Wednesdays about 3 times and each time, it felt like things were just so much more solidified. I didn't have to imagine if the decorations would go with the table or worried about if the chairs were too close together. I could just go to the venue and arrange it how I'd like and see if the dance floor was an appropriate size. As someone who plans a lot and has a ton of anxiety, this made me feel so much more at ease. For communication, just go to walk-thru Wednesdays. To be honest, I had trouble emailing the venue or calling them so it was much easier for me to go in person and they were so kind!I would say the bridal suite was absolutely stunning, but I think more ventilation in there is definitely needed and outlets. A third station or a tall bar chair would've been much more convenient. I felt terrible that one of the artists had to work with someone in a low chair. There were 3 mirrors, but only 2 high chairs. We had to do a makeshift station, but I believe for our Hair&MakeUpArtists, they really prioritized the natural light to make sure that we looked our best. There also is only a 1 2-outlet on the wall with the mirrors and there's one on the one by the dresses for the fan, but for a room having about 8 people, 2 fans were definitely needed. I would also say that it would've been helpful if there were more trays or counter space for our HMUAs to set their things. It worked out, but yeah, it is a slightly smaller bridal suite, so I would say... 3-4 bridesmaids max. I had 6 bridesmaids + flower lady, but thankfully during the morning, half of us were running errands and helping set up so it wasn't as bad. Also, the bluetooth setup they have in the bridal suite was so easy to use and already there. No need for us to remember those Bluetooth speakers we always forget!Madison was the venue coordinator and she was amazing at making us feel comfortable and giving us options on what we could possibly do and also make amazing suggestions for the timeline or how we can migrate from floor to floor. Hayden was the amazing bar manager at the UNION who was incredible at communication and was making sure all of our alcohol was in order! Having a BringYourOwnAlcohol package is just incredible and having them as bartenders was *mwah* chef's kiss. We enjoyed all the staff at the UNION and we're so happy to have had our perfect wedding here. I can't imagine anyone regretting getting married in such a beautiful, beautiful venue already on its own. I honestly thought I had too many decorations that took a little bit away from the venue's ambiance that I wanted captured in the photos.

We had the most amazing experience hosting our wedding at UNION. On top of it just being a gorgeous space there were so many factors that really drew us to this venue - the location close to hotels and things to do downtown; the 24-hour rental period; the multi-floor layout (including a SUPER cool speakeasy for cocktail hour - our guests really loved this); the accessibility; the bridal suite and groomsmen get-ready area; there were just so many green flags it was easy to make the decision to book! We also loved the BYOB bar concept, as we had tons of out-of-town family and friends attending (about 90% of our guest list!) and were really wanting to feature our local breweries, distilleries, and wineries; this enabled us to do that where most venues downtown had pre-set bar packages. The rich brick of the building provided a great backdrop for all of our cozy details, and the farm tables tied in perfectly. UNION also made it super easy to rent a few last-minute items that we needed, like pipe and drape and cocktail tables/linens. They also gave us the option to rent a digital photobooth through them, which was super convenient and a lot of fun for our guests! It poured rain the day of our wedding so we didn't get to utilize the rooftop for bride/groom photos, but had we been able to, we know it would have made for some awesome sunset backdrops.Allison, our client concierge, was super organized as we approached the day and made sure we knew any final details about insurance requirements, timelines for load-in and -out, security, and so forth. Clay, our bar manager, was very responsive to questions we had as we decided on our bar menu, and was able to provide helpful suggestions on quantities to buy and how to structure our bar timeline from start to finish. Everyone else we worked with throughout our planning period was friendly and helpful, from the venue managers to the staff present on the day of. Overall, we can't imagine our wedding having been anywhere else - it was such a dreamy setting and the layout (being able to go between floors for each major portion of the event) was so perfect for the flow of the day.

Beautiful event space for my daughter's December wedding. Located in a historic building in downtown KCMO with good access to parking & hotels. Loved using all 3 levels to keep things interesting as the wedding unfolded during the day/evening/night. Having access to the building for a full 24 hours was a definite plus & a convenient back alley entrance with an elevator made it easy for our vendors & to pick up the remaining items the next morning. But none of it would have worked as well without the help of Union event planner, Madison P. She made planning fun & handled the details flawlessly. Got us through the entire day & never lost her smile & positive, encouraging attitude.Kudos also to the entire union staff & bartenders who took good care of us & our guests. Highly recommend Union for your event.

My daughter was just married at the Union on March 10th. The wedding could not have been any better! The Union was awesome (urban vibe, open house Wednesdays, 24 hour rental, 3 floors of space, great bridal room, and terrific location) with every space well planned and designed. That said, the best part of the Union is the team. Jessica and Madison are the ultimate personable, professional and knowledgeable event planners. They were so responsive to our questions (we had many) and directed us in ways that we had not thought of going. Truly, we could not speak higher of this very talented team! I would not look any further for event space and chose the Union.....you would not regret it!

I haven't had my wedding yet but I booked this venue, omg, it's so beautiful! I've met with staff twice and felt them to be warm and receptive. They've been super helpful too; I swear the venue manager there doesn't sleep!They offer all the amenities you want in one price but don't force you to pay for things you don't need for your specific wedding either. I'll review again after my wedding!

My husband and I got married at Union on 8.21.21 and it was an absolute dream! If you are even remotely thinking about adding on full service coordination DO IT You will NOT regret it! Jessica and Ashtyn were amazing to work with, and we will definitely miss our monthly meetings. Wedding planning is so stressful but we always felt a million times better after our meetings with them.On the day of the wedding they were super heroes, I don't know how they do it! I also don't know how people pull off weddings without coordinators. Whether it was getting me a pre-ceremony beer to calm my nerves, making sure my husband and I were fed, and also running around the venue taking instax pics of everyone for our wedding guest book, they truly go above and beyond! Plus they also packed up all of our stuff and made it super easy for my parents to pick it all up the next day.Ashtyn and Jessica weren't the only super heroes though, we also had an amazing experience with their beverage coordinator and the bar tenders that worked the night of the wedding. Every time I went up to the bar she asked "Okay and for your other hand?" It was truly a night we will never forget and it went off with no issues thanks to an amazing team of people. We're so happy we had our wedding at Union!

well so far, I have tried for a week to try to book this venue have tried many times and many ways to contact them with no success, so I assume they do not want to rent the event space. Very unprofessional.

The Union team went above and beyond to make our wedding exactly as we envisioned and seamless every step of the way. Using the coordinator through the venue, she was able to direct all of our vendor communication and set up the venue making the process stress free and to best execute our vision for the night. Madison worked with us every step of the way and on the day of the wedding took care of everything we needed allowing us to enjoy the evening without interruptions. Madison and the Team exceeded all expectations and make sure our Wedding was perfect. 10/10 recommend using The Union for venue and coordination.
