The only thing more amazing than this fantastic venue is the deliciousness of the liquor that they create here.Go give it a shot.

I came here because they were having a social event and I have always wanted to check out the distillery. We sat ourselves, grabbed some menus, and found a flight that I could order. The staff was friendly when I ordered and came around to check up on us. The environment was also very comfortable and created a great ambiance for whiskey tasting. They had the sancho streetside food truck as well so we ordered some nachos. Their whiskeys are craftfully done with good taste. I would definitely rate it as one of the top distilleries in the KC area. I would recommend buying a bottle of their barrel proof rye if you see it at your local liquor store. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely come to their next event.

I cannot recommend this venue enough as a perfect place to throw an event. Parker, the event coordinator was absolutely a pleasure to work with. From the first request for information to leaving the event, Parker and the Union Horse team were so responsive and helpful. And the venue is BEAUTIFUL. The nice thing too is that if you host an event (even in one of their small rooms) it guarantees that you will be the only event at Union Horse the whole night. Fantastic place to host parties from small to medium/large and the price and bar packages are a fantastic deal. Do yourself a favor and book your next event here and Parker will make it perfect.

Awesome distillery with some of the finest hand-crafted spirits in the Midwest. Currently they are offering private masked tours of their distillery or you can go online and sign up for a virtual tour & tasting. Their distillery layout is really cool! All the grain used in their mash bill is locally sourced from the Midwest and it was really cool to see all the grain being milled on-site before moving down the production process. At the center of it all is a huge copper pot still, named Chester Copperpot. This is where all the magic happens and it was really neat to see all the steps of the production process. Their warehouse is non-climate controlled which is actually better for whiskey aging due to the extremely wide variations in temperature. A year of aging in the Midwest equates to a full and evenly paced aging cycle. From what I learned, the more cycles a barrel goes through, the better the product. They currently product 6 different spirits: Reunion Barrel Strength Rye Whiskey, Reunion Straight Rye Whiskey, Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Rolling Standard Four Grain Whiskey, Long Shot White Whiskey, and Rider Vodka. Each spirit is great to enjoy on the rocks or mixed in with your favorite cocktail. Highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't tasted any of their spirits!

What a great experience last evening! A private gathering, tour and tasting for myself and 15 friends. It started with a warm greeting from friendly staff. Cocktails were unique and delicious. The lounging area was comfortable with high top tables, a bar and some couches and chairs. The tour lasted between 30-45 minutes and explained the process of spirit making well. The whole venue smelled amazing of fresh grain and mixes! The tour guide was informative, courteous and able to answer any and all questions. Following the tour we arrived back to the lounge to enjoy our tasting experience. We sampled four each and were given great descriptions on what to expect. We continued to socialize, enjoy a few more mixed drinks and were free to make purchases of Union Horse spirits and products. The booking process was smooth and informative. The staff was smiling, respectful and kind. I would definitely consider booking another gathering at Union Horse!

Tours typically need to be organized in advance, and Damian was gracious enough to offer us a tour of the distillery, providing indepth detail about the entire distilling process- from grain to bottle. I loved being able to see behind the scenes and learn all about the barrel aging process. We were able to sample their spirits in the bar area, which was really lovely for events. I really enjoyed the bourbon but everything they offer represents small-batch, craft spirits at their best. A really amazing thing about their facility is the ambience. From the private room to the bar and large event space, adjoining the glass-enclosed distilling area, the facility is really beautiful with rich wood and leather details making it nice for weddings or private events. It's rather a hidden gem because it's unassuming in a warehouse.

Beautiful and stunning place. Went here for a wedding, and it was gorgeous. It's a bit hidden, but it's definitely a gem. From the staff, to the distillery equipment making a great backdrop, it was an enjoyable evening. I would definitely recommend to family and friends. They do tours, and I will be back for a tour!! Loved their Rider vodka (it was so good and didn't burn. But definitely snuck up on me).

I attended an after hours business event at this location. The facility has a fantastic atmosphere and the appetizers were amazing. I did not try the whiskey, but the white wine was delicious.

The vodka is really bad. A bottle is $19 so didn't expect much, but we were still very disappointed. The bourbon is good, but I wouldn't buy it again at the price (relative to others). It was fun to support a local business but the vodka needs a revamp.

This review is for the public tour. I REALLY wanted to like it, but it just was not good, and certainly not worth $17 per person. I'm still trying to figure out what that money paid for, aside from lining someone's pockets. I've toured quite a few distilleries in quite a few cities. They are often free, or else just charge a nominal fee because the law prohibits free tastings. Not so here. $17 per person, which included a ~45 minute tour and tiny tastings of 5 products. They didn't even pour a tasting of the vodka for us. Also no free drink (although we were all affirmatively encouraged to buy $10 cocktails before the tour, which they delayed by 30 minutes, thereby selling even more cocktails). No discount on bottles or swag after. Nothing. As for the tour and facility itself, it was a mixed bag. The facility is really nice. Looks like a great place to have a reception or other event. The working side of things also looks nice, but is pretty small. Which is fine, but means there just isn't all that much to see on the tour. Which means the tour is short. Our guide seemed nice enough, but pretty obviously was going out of his way to hit talking points about UHD prioritizing "local," and didn't really know anything beyond that. Had no idea what local companies they actually patronize or where they get some stuff, and at one point tried to spin a still from Louisville, KY, as "local." That's a bit too much of a stretch, buddy. In sum, the facility was cool, but the tour was sub-par. I wouldn't be complaining if it was free, but $17 per person for this is highway robbery. I would encourage UHD to ask around and go on some other tours themselves to see how other distilleries do it. There's an awful lot of room for improvement.
