The Truck Stop Survives! It has been a tough couple of years for truck stops across the nation. The double whammy of COVID 19 lockdowns and the past years price spikes (inflation) for fuel have taken their toll. We stopped in for a late lunch / early dinner at the Concordia, MO Truckstops of America, and noticed that they had added a Subway to their Country Pride diner for quick road food. Truck stops survive by producing edible carbs quickly and truck parking. But most survivors also amp up their friendly service with better than average home style meals - Country Pride has done this. While not crowded during the late afternoon, the service was its historic quick and friendly bench mark, the menu has been pared down a bit to match a decrease in demand. We went for a stir fry and a traditional American Breakfast of omelette and hash browns. The omelette was exactly what should be expected with no skimping of ingredients. The stir fry was very good, especially for truck stop fare. Adding a slice of "Reeces Peanut Butter" cake for desert topped off an enjoyable meal.During these inflationary times, I have been seeking out businesses that have earned their right to survive by providing consistent services and products at reasonable prices. This Country Pride had done exactly that. Yes, I will continue to make that Concordia stop as I cross I-70 they have earned it.

This place needs help, In less you get here early the buffet is poorly maintained. You'd be better off ordering from the menu. They charge 13 + for the buffet and it isn't worth it. The floors are filthy and stickyThe young waitresses need not to be standing around bsing with the cooks but doing a lil cleaning. " idle time is cleaning time" at least that's what I was always told when I worked in a restaurant. The food that was fresher wasn't bad but there were alot of empty pans or dried out food in pans.

This place was a great pit stop for lunch. Wait staff was awesome and friendly. Super clean environment. My kids are kinda loud and not once did anyone make me feel like I had to leave. Will stop here again. Thank you Country Pride

As truckstops go, this one is not too bad. They have a decent selection of "stuff". We've been eating in the restaurant for years. The food is good. Today we had the buffet at the lunch hour. There is a decent salad bar, a few soups and some hot dishes. Some items looked not-so-fresh, but with some careful choices I ended up with a tasty slice of prime rib, some good veggie beef soup, and a good piece of turkey. At $7.39 per person, you probably couldn't have ordered off the menu for that price.

One of the better locations for this chain . Recent visit ... the Steerburger for breakfast tasted more like WATER BUFFALO . Either serve real meat and raise the price. Or stop serving this overpriced fake burger. Awful !!! Go to a mom n pop truck stop and get real meat .
