Worst Hotel Ever in Overland Park Kansas
Cupboards are rotting. I forgot to take a picture of the human hair that was left from the guest before me - disgusting.
Caulking that looks like a 3rd grader applied it.

We are going to try a couple other hotels in the area before we return here. Our room was clean, other than some gum melted into the carpet, but the design was cludgy at best. Things like bathroom doors that swung open into sinks and located too close to one of the beds. Some serious concerns include: three different days and three different people working the front counter who didn't know how to split a hotel bill in half; key cards stopped working after 24 hours; handicapped parking that was not cleared of snow; parking lot as a whole only partially cleared of snow; and a breakfast bar that had not been replenished - things like missing waffle batter and empty dishes where eggs had been; no spoons and no coffee. There's got to be better options; we will try the others on our visits to the area and perhaps try again in a few years.

Empty parking lot for a reason... this place has seen better decades. After waiting for the clerk to see me on the camera, he finally appeared from the back office; disgruntled, as if I was interrupting him. No upgrades despite an empty hotel for elite members either, don't bother asking. The upkeep was ceased in the 1990's, avoid this place if you want a clean room. Marriott should dump this property and sell it to a Tier 3 motel chain.

We stayed here this weekend for my sister's wedding because it is right across the street from her venue, Deer Creek. I wish we would have had a better experience - considering that we are avid Marriott stayers. My husband arrived first to take a nap in the room. When I arrived to get our second key, the front desk clerk could not find my reservation. I gave her my name and the confirmation number. After ten minutes, she finally was able to direct me to the room. The room was small and cramped. I could have done without the kitchenette, but could see how this would have been helpful for guests staying longer than two nights. The bed was awful and my hubby and I kept sinking into the middle of the bed. The bathroom needed new grout (as pictured) which did not make the shower feel clean. The next morning we headed down to breakfast around 8:30am (Friday) to grab soemthing to eat before the 9am cut off. There were two bagels left and the rest of the hot entrees were out. With all of our family in town and the hotel at a great capacity, I was shocked to see them stop serving food before the cut off time. One of my sister's bridesmaids grabbed a moldy bagel by mistake. We opted for Starbucks. This was everything that I personally experienced. My sister, the bride, was really upset because when she arrived on her wedding night to her honeymoon suite, the room had not been cleaned. The fold out couch and the bed in the bedroom were not made from the night before. They did, however, give her clean towels -- meaning that they had been in the room and had opted not to clean it. My the key aunt was given was to a room that already had a guest inside. For $140 a night, we should have experienced Marriott standards. This experience makes me question staying in a Marriott again.

I came to this hotel for a quilting convention (not knowing it had been canceled due to "COVID"). Overall I enjoyed my stay at this "hotel" though I have a number of gripes. I went to bed and there was NO (I checked) poop on the sheets. When I awoke, to my shock, I discovered smears in the sheets. The sink nozzle (in the bathroom) is too close to the wall. I, like many women my age, enjoy a large shower. What I DO NOT ENJOY is a shower that is more hotdog than hamburger.Next, I sat in a chair. Overall I enjoyed the chair. But - the chair armrest is VERY high. I'm not sure who has shoulders that this would property accommodate. One shoulder is much higher than the other shoulder. Also, my back hurts and I forgot my heating pad. The room has a dishwasher. I don't feel as if it is appropriate to insinuate that an elderly hotel guest do "maid work". But it was a nice plus nonetheless. I don't have a dishwasher at my house. My house was build in 1931 and is very era-appropriate.I discovered that it is very VERY easy to make the coffee completely wrong which I did. It was not coffee coffee enough. When I went downstairs the coffee provided with breakfast (which I will not be getting into) was almost too coffee coffee but ended up being satisfactory. Before bed I went for a dip in the pool. I was alone and the pool was not deep enough to drown in. On my way back to my Room (upstairs, so I had to use the elevator) I noticed a crumb in the "hallway". Which brings me to my next point, DECOR. The hallway was my least favorite part of the entire HOTEL experience. The art leaves an art appreciator such as myself wanting. The bathroom art is particularly bad and did not set a bathroom mood. The hand sanitizer was empty. I wish I had remembered my heating pad.If it wasn't for the boiled eggs at breakfast I don't think I would ever come back to ANY hotel. I still went to the convention center and was asked to leave. Thank you.

Really disappointed in this particular location of a brand I am quite familiar with and usually very satisfied. The service was so so, but the room was much worse. It was run down, marks all over the walls, and the bathroom looked like one of those $30 per night hotel bathrooms (nuff said). Please, Marriot, look into making some improvements here.

Great location. Tons of shopping and dining right outside the door. Staff is kind, friendly and efficient. Nice place to stay for a weekend or for an extended stay. Rooms are well equipped and have lots of well organized storage! The entire place has a safe, clean and friendly feel to it.

Worst experience at a Marriott hotel. The general manager is extremely rude. You are lucky if they clean your room.

No Kleenex, no hangers, no place to put out suitcases, questionable cleanliness and very dated. Not what we expected a Marriott property to be!! So disappointing.

The most horrible experience of my Marriott 20 years. The manager is an absolute no good with customer service and he literally ask me to leave because the music from the pool speaker could not be lower or turned off. First-time I been treated like this on a Marriott, this Town Place is the WORST in all Marriott hotels. If you don't want to be inconvenient in your stay in Overland Park Kansas, don't stay here...the WORST YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE. HG

Do not stay at this hotel. It was a disaster from the beginning. We were here for a soccer tournament and had to book through the sales manager. When the team got here multiple people had an email with a confirmation number and the correct dates, yet the hotel had no record of them. They said it happens all the time. They were full and our coach had no room the first night. Then the key card system didn't work. I had to get my card reset every time I left the room. The front desk staff could care less about the issues. The seem to have grown immune to it since this seems to be the norm here. This area is very nice and there are many other hotels within walking distance. Choose one of them.
