Great bridge to run or walk across for some pretty views of the Missouri River! I appreciate that they have an elevator as well as stairs so it's more accessible. This reminds me of running along the Schuylkill River in Philly!

Came here because I was so close from being at the City Market because I wanted to see the view. It was a pretty short bridge to the river and the views were nice but I'm not going to call it spectacular because all you can really see is the river and a couple of bridges. The area is pretty industrial. You can also go downstairs which I didn't really have time to but there's paths where you can walk and run and also get a different view. Overall a quick stop if you have some time. A good escape from a busy area to sip a coffee or something (which is what I did...)

This is an alright spot for a view of the river, a short walk from the heart of the River Market area. I'm not sure I'd come down here at night. The bridge itself is long and stretches to the banks of the Mighty Mo', with views of the two bridges connecting the northland to downtown on either side. Beneath you is the terminus for the Berkley Riverfront Trail which is still evolving in my opinion. It's worth noting, there was a ton of graffiti, broken glass, and trash all around, so I'm not sure this would be a nighttime spot. In fact I'm sure of it. You'll see joggers on the bridge, scooters, people taking photos -- it's all cool, but it's not really destination worthy. The River Market area continues to grow, and you can see the area inching closer to its potential on each visit. I think a lot more needs to happen, and there could really be something cool around the river like additional trails and connections, but I think the city needs to put some focus on it.

This a a peaceful place with a stunning view of the Missouri River. The elevator provides trail access to those who don't want to carry their bikes 4 stories.

This is a great place to go for a walk and look at great scenery near the water. Also, there is a wall of locks that you can contribute your personal lock. This is a great spot for exercise or just taking in the scenery.

Maybe the only spot in Kansas City that gives pedestrians an elevated view of the Missouri River. The Town of Kansas Bridge connects 1st and Main to a platform that has stairs and an elevator which connect to a walking/jogging trail which heads east a mile or so along Berkley Park and the riverfront. The view from the platform is beautiful with the historic Hannibal rail bridge and The Buck O'Neil Bridge (replacement construction has started) to the west; and the A.S.B. rail and the generic Heart of America bridges to the east. The northern shore of the river is completely undeveloped with lush greenery. While the bridge and platform are great structures with a cool view, I see so much more potential for the area under the platform and next to the river. Possible options could include a giant fountain, connecting trails to the west, courtyards and seating, access for food trucks... With the current apartment construction in the area and the streetcar extension into Berkley Park, hopefully the Town of Kansas Bridge can become an even greater anchor and focal point for area upgrades.

Stumbled across this by accident while trying to find the River. It lead us to a short little walk with some historical markers along the way. Elevator available for those with bad knees.

I'm visiting from out of town, so I tried to hit up as much 'local flavor' and favorite spots in the city. The Town of Kansas Bridge is by the waterfront, close to City Market. Going on a Thursday late afternoon (4:30PM), there's a lot of free 2-hour street parking in the neighboring areas. As in, there were maybe 3 other cars parked at a time, so not at all crowded. This place seems like the beginning of a nice park. The initial part of the bridge has a lit boardwalk. Then at the end is tunnel/hallway of chain link fencing? People have started putting locks on the links, so you can see the community is warming up to the space. At the end of this is an outlook of the river. If you go down the stairs or elevator, there's a dirt path/road that follows the river past one of the bridges. Perhaps it's better maintained over there, but from up top, it looked minimally developed. Runners and bikers were on the path, so I'm guessing this is one of the spots to go in the city.I'd be interested to see if this area develops more.

What an awesome little treasure for the residents of River Market. A great place to wind down while watching the river go by. The bridge itself is quite pleasing to the eye, and i quite often see people getting their photos taken there. You can go down a few flights of stairs and connect to a running trail. It's also a super fun place to shoot off fireworks on the 4th of July. Also good for watching the Air Show.

After getting to the other side of the Town of Kansas Bridge, go down the stairs or take the elevator. When you get to the bottom, it's now Riverfront West. There is a pavement trail that will eventually lead to the Christopher S. Bond Bridge/Capri Casino. Run along the beautiful Missouri River. Best time to go: dusk. Well lit. Not very busy, but you will likely find a few dog walkers, couples walking, but mostly joggers.
