Got a to go order there today... they forgot the bacon in my breakfast special... so my son called and asked for the bacon and said I would come back with the receipt and get it... I arrived and was given 2 pieces of bacon that were charred black!!!!Not just overcooked.... Black!!What an obvious "we don't care about our clientele one bit! And we will make them pay for complaining!"It was inedible so I left it on the bench!

I have been here many times for the lunch. You can never go wrong with their menu. Staffs are always friendly and welcoming here in TJ's. Vintage ambiance. During my last visit, I have tried their "Giant homemade tenderloin served on a grilled bun with a side of coleslaw". Trust me, you cannot finish em in one shot. As the name suggests, it is a giant one. I ended up a taking leftovers lol. They also have a good dessert option here. Hopefully, I will visit them next time for brunch or breakfast to checkout their menu.

Judging from the wall's wood paneling the interior of TJ's has change little over several decades. And you can be thankful for that because the diner's owners continue to put their money into good quality food and provide it at reasonable cost. TJ's provides high value in its meals. We arrived for breakfast and TJ's was already bustling. Portions for a party of 15 were generous. Service was outstanding as multiple staff worked quickly to get meals delivered at the same time, then checked back to ensure no requests were overlooked. As a traditional diner, TJ's has a large and varied breakfast menu of American comfort foods.

I enjoyed breakfast food this morning at TJ's Cafe and it felt like i was in the old west. The place is run by a cowgirl crew with a few cowboys sprinkled around. The music was western and i really liked the decor in there. The service was excellent and served by a cowboy!! Lots of fun here.

Before leaving home looked on this site for options as we drove south thru KC. Saw some options and was able to find this place. We were after breakfast, but not quite lunch so the place was mostly empty, but near full when finished. NOT FANCY!!!! Said that last part so if you read this and are interested you know it is a small-town cafe on the edge of KC. The building is old but clean and surprisingly large on the inside. We had lunches and both enjoyed them, We had the pork tenderloin sandwich and neither of us was able to finish it. With the fries that came with it, seemed like we left half of the food, but ate all we could. The fries were not the 'real' fries but out of a bag which I was disappointed in. But, the tenderloin sandwich was above average good. Service was very good also. Considered a piece of pie, yes, even though I didn't eat all of my sandwich, but didn't find any was willing to try. I was looking for a plain old apple or cherry.Advice here, coming off the Interstate turn west. It is about 2-3 miles and on the north side of the road. We were looking for it and still nearly missed it as there is a bend right there. They are open early. My guess is because the service is good, the food even better and the reasonable price it will be full during normal meal times. We have another trip south from Omaha towards Branson and then into Arkansas so will forgo at least once looking and trying another different place to eat here..

this little treasure serves grandview with a traditional feel of your local neighborhood diner. you can expect food offerings like omelettes with toast and hash brown, pancakes with meat and eggs, breakfast sandwich (two simple options), burgers, fries.. at the entry/exit, you will sight a casing of pies and cinnamon rolls as well. my veggie omelette and sourdough toast were great. the omelette was created in a way where the eggs wrapped the veggie and cheese stuffing like a crepe, thin but substantial. it was satisfying, and the prices are not out to eat your wallet. hubs got pancakes with ham & eggs, and the pancakes were stacked in two, each the circumference of his head. he was barely making it through his brunch, and we forgot to take the box of two half-pancakes home. our waitress was delightful. she was warm, attentive and quick to take care of us. it is a small mixed bag of personable personalities serving other sections of the diner. i do not know if this is the rule, but we were asked to seat ourselves. so, whether a tables with chairs or booths, you can take your pick. i would say this is the spot to come for someone looking for an easy-going, old-fashioned american dining that will fill your tummy up
