I had never stopped in Macon, been thru many times. Then I got involved working on the courthouse renovation. I needed to get wet after a hard day and went to the wooden nickel. I met Kayla, superb bartender! Then I took off earlier the next afternoon and Mandy made my drink, ah, refreshing! And so was the drink. Mandy is a breath of fresh air, cute as a button and as nice as the day is long. I came back enough times that she now calls me a friend. Macon, my home away from home. Thanks, Mandy!

No compassion, a shame it calls itself a "small town" joint. Prioritizes money over the customer. The manager was rude and the bartender was almost worse. Try another place before you try this one.

I was new to Macon over a year ago. I roll my own TOBACCO smokes. I pulled one out of my shirt pocket. The "manager" kicked me out of the bar for life because she assumed the hand rolled tobacco was cdb.I was spending $400 a week in th.e bar. The mayor told me the bar was sold so I went in and had a good time. The new owner served me all night. I went in the next day and the same female bartender told me its under same management and kicked me out forever... Good luck to the new owner. My $400 a week certainly would help you stay open. I dont even smoke cdb or weed..Good luck!

The Wooden Nickel, is now apparently under new management. The manager and bartender were rude and inconsiderate to our group. The beers on tap were not cold. I would recommend finding somewhere else to spend your hard earned money. Obviously the new management does not understand the value of good customer service and quality of their product.
