Truly delicious dishes and a menu of items you can't find anywhere else. Not a single item disappointed me, specifically the duck. The duck I have not seen prepared in this way anywhere else. It was indeed well-executed and unique. Also, the dessert must not be overlooked. The desserts were spot-on and just as unique and delicious as the dinner menu. In my humble opinion, the food and dessert menu is on par with Michelin-starred restaurants. The drink menu too is great with a selection of delicious cocktails to match the food. The format is family style which is perfect because it gives everyone the ability to sample the entire menu.

The Town Company is absolutely my recommendation for a restaurant in KC if you're looking to celebrate an important occasion. Tucked into a cozy, dark corner of the Hotel Kansas City, the Town Company is a phenomenal fine dining experience from start to finish. You definitely want to make a reservation, even on a weeknight. This intimate space is consistently full to the brim. I highly recommend booking a spot at the Chef's Counter for a special date night experience. You will be cozied up by the fire, chatting with the chefs and watching them cook over the open flame. I also highly recommend this for solo diners because I had a great time by myself! They have a delicious cocktail menu and even some great non-alcoholic options. The Town Company is a great choice for special dining experiences, like Restaurant Week. You will spend a pretty penny -- know that going in. The least expensive entree is still over $20. But again -- you're here to celebrate something important, I'm sure! And it's worth it. You must order the rolls. They practically melt in your mouth like cotton candy because they are so light and fluffy. They have a beautiful sheen of butter, and they come with more butter (and a dip) on the side. They are phenomenal. The menu changes frequently, but the rolls are a main-stay. The service is great. The servers are very helpful with recommendations for food and drink, and everyone makes an effort to make you feel welcome and content. Top quality experience from start to finish. Street parking is your option, but you might as well ball out on hotel valet parking while you're at it. Hotel Kansas City is also very close to the streetcar line!

I really wanted to love and brag about this place! It gets a lot of hype and they were nominated for a James Beard award. However, the menu choices online always left me passing it over for something else. Finally, a friend really wanted to check it out so I said let's go! The service was excellent. Hands down from the hostess, buser, server, bartender. They were amazing. The atmosphere is cozy. It did feel like a basement but it was very intimate and pretty. They even bring you a sling to set your purse on. The food left more to be desired. I got the rolls, they were delicious. Next the lobster toast and the tartare. I found myself comparing it to Farina but the clam toast there is bomb. For the entree we got the salmon and steak. I almost let out a laugh when it was placed in front of me. They're so teeny tiny. I know these smaller portions are a big thing now but it was even smaller than normal with big price tags. Same for the dessert. Overall, I left feeling that $286 didn't get me much and I'm still hungry.

Sat at the chefs counter which is right in front of their wood fire oven. Such an awesome experience, our server was phenomenal and walked us through the menu and gave great recommendations. The inside is typical upscale restaurant with a slightly more casual vibe. The halibut was really beautifully grilled, so delicate and the glaze added a nice sweet flavor to the dish.Everything we tried was really unique and tasted so great. I can't praise sitting by the wood fire oven enough, if you can handle a little extra heat it's so worth it. I can't wait to go back and try their new menu

My wife and I celebrated our ninth anniversary with a fun, fancy dinner at Town Company and a stay at the adjoining Hotel Kansas City. Having heard of this spot since the early pandemic days, it's safe to say it's been high on our list for a while. For starters, they've dispelled the old trope that a hotel restaurant is never going to be all that good. This is quality, renowned chefs, and absolutely destination worthy no matter where it's located. If anything, the placement in the beautiful old Kansas City Club adds to the appeal. The atmosphere was ideal. It's much warmer and more inviting than some pictures led me to believe, and well decorated. It doesn't try to hard, and it's intimate without needing a flashlight to read the menu.I went in blind here, and barely even skimmed the menu. We went because of word of mouth, Yelp reviews, and sort of like a movie you know will be good, you just buckle up and go take it all in.For food, we tried an array of things and shared it all:-Hot Buns with carrot dip; well made and tasty, didn't really wow me but were good.-Cauliflower with harissa, pine nuts, prairie breeze cheddar; the most unique of all the dishes we tried, I enjoyed it. I don't know if I'd seek it out again but it was very flavorful.-Brussels sprouts; not finding this listed on their online menu so going off of memory, but they had some kind of aioli, apple, and crushed nuts on top. Maybe one of the best things we had, these were PHENOMENAL.-Potato dumplings wish mushrooms; they just transitioned to their fall menu and this had all the fall feels. This was the best thing we ate, the highlight of them all. It was like eating the feeling of warm coziness on the first real cold snap in November. I could eat this weekly in the fall/winter if my wallet would allow it.-Duck, grilled peaches, blistered shishito peppers; this was good and we ate it all, but not necessarily memorable. It's not that something was off, just that it felt like it was close to being really good but not quite there. -Lemon Cheesecake; blueberry, coconut, and macadamia. A bit of a surprise with the fall menu as this feels like a trip to the islands, but damn was it good. Very very small, but very very good.I was also blown away by how good my cocktail was. It's no longer listed and had equally tropical ingredients, but was not overly sweet at all and hit just perfectly. I don't drink much but this was up there as one of the best I've had in KC.Service was good, overall. Our server was very much someone who wanted to let us have our evening, which I appreciate. Nothing felt above and beyond, but nothing felt missed. So to sum it up, a very good meal with a few standouts. It wasn't all as mind-blowing as some dinners I've had, and felt a bit caught between the transition of the seasons (same, Town Co, same, it's been a warm fall). I would certainly go back, but with date nights being a rarity these days, we'll cycle through to some other KC highlights before returning.

Friday night out. Ambiance is great, corner booth is exceptional. Great mood lighting that wasn't too dark. Great menu size that's not too big so they can focus on high quality unique dishes. Everything we had was truly delicious and adventurous. Small details of food were great without being too over the top. Carrot olive oil dip was one of my favorite components. Service was great as we enjoyed our server a lot and drank a lot of water. For an upscale dining experience the pricing was less than I originally guessed too.

Wow!I went to KC for my birthday weekend and we had stayed at the very romantic and gorgeous hotel, the Hotel KC. The town and Co is located in the hotel and it had rave reviewsWe were not disappointed First of all, we chose to sit at the chefs table which means direct observation of the chefs at work! We were right in front of the (toasty!) oak burning hearth where most of the menu items goes thru. For example, they roast the lettuce there for a crunchy bite for the cesear salad, they also roasted the kebab right over the fire. We watched our pork chops develop the most beautiful color, as the chef patiently flipped it with care and loveLet's talk service - outstanding! Our server was so nice and made us feel super comfortable. She had great suggestions on the size of the food items so we were well informed and definitely well fed! I also loved talking to the chefs as they prepared the food, they were super happy to answer questions! The food was marvelous, probably some of the best I've ever hadThe crab toast is served on a milk bread which was crunchy and moist. The crab had great flavor and just the perfect size to share The crunchy cauliflower was also wonderfulOne of my favorite dishes was the Kebob, it had such a deep flavor and each piece of meat was so succulent. I wish I had more!!Finally we shared a pork chop entree - wow'!!! It's a perfect size for sharing but by now we were dangerously approaching being full. Fear not we ate it all! This was the BEST PORK CHOP I've ever had. I don't know how they do it, every other pork chop I've had has been disappointingly dry and chewy. But this was marvelous, the sauce was incredible. At the recommendation of our wonderful server we also got the cornbread - which looked like a pancake! It went perfectly with the protein heavy pork chopsThe dessert was a perfect end to our night. By this time I was full but so happy to have spent my birthday dinner at Town Company! What a gem :)

Top to bottom, everything we had here was incredible. We started at the lobby bar, then transitioned to Town Company, before ending the night at Nighthawk, and I recommend you visit at least two of these on your visit. I enjoyed each cocktail I tried here and I truly savored each bite of the food we ordered: the lobster toast, the sweet potato dumplings, and the ribeye. I really can't overstate how much I enjoyed it and I have the fortunate conundrum of deciding to try them again or try all different dishes. Based on my experience here, I don't think you can go wrong. The entrees are shareable sizes, my wife and I had three plus the bread and that felt like a good amount. Along with a lovely atmosphere and great service, it was certainly a memorable experience and I can't wait to return. Note**: highly recommend making a reservation and be prepared to spend a pretty penny. Definitely worth it if it's in your budget!

I came here as a large party and with a reservation. The restaurant was a low lit setting. Overall the atmosphere was great and cute.We started off with drinks and they were delicious. We had a mix of cocktails and mocktails and both were just as good. The food was good but I'd say it wasn't exceptional in any way. Our server told us they were shareable sizes but they were not. We were a bit disappointed when we got our food. However I give it 4 because the service and drinks were great.

Service | Scene | Dessert | cornbread Service - Our waitress, Reign (sp), provided exceptional and knowledgeable service, demonstrating expertise in the menu from drinks to entrees. It appeared that every guest received top-notch service from the diverse team of waiters and waitresses.Scene - The venue exudes a charming ambiance, attracting well-dressed patrons. It makes for an excellent choice for a romantic outing, featuring intimate seating and a soultry atmosphere.Dessert - I tried the most amazing sorbet, and it was absolutely delicious! It quickly became one of my favorite treats of the past two years. I highly recommend trying it!Cornbread - We started with the cornbread for an appetizer, and it was absolutely delicious. The texture and taste were savory, and unlike most cornbreads, it held together very well. It's the perfect size for a group of 2 to 4 people.Pro tip: Please allow an additional 5 to 10 minutes for your commute to account for limited parking availability in the area.Pro tip: If you want to enjoy drinks or a quick appetizer, the bar is the perfect choice. However, make sure to reserve the back corner by the waiter station for the best view.
