An Honest Restaurant in the HeartlandI am not really sure about the name, at first I guessed that it would be just another Missouri BBQ but found it to be much more! Sitting in the middle of the easily overlooked Missouri town of Lexington, like its close neighbor Maid Rite Drive-In, it is the picture of rural midwestern Americana. Their rustic building has a good amount of street parking with a common parking lot across the street. Everything about it screams "down home" and welcoming. Tables abound in the dining room, with a brick patio off to the side for the outdoorsy crowd. Table service is very good in both the dining room or at the full bar near the kitchen. Their menu attests to their support of all things local, including the wants and needs of non-city dwellers. Including the local culture appears foremost in their mind. The Spotted Pig has become an impromptu meeting place for alumni of Lexingtons ill fated Wentworth Military Academy, and is within walking distance of its museum. But it is the food that makes it shine. From their burgers, through one of the best Smoked Pork Chops I have ever eaten (the brown gravy is something to behold) and a "get a take home box" sized Club Sandwich, to their Saturday night Prime Rib Special, "down home comfort food" makes the half hour drive from the Kansas City city limits worthwhile. Prices are reasonable in today's post COVID-19 economy, as are the portions. Lexington is loaded with 19th Century history, including museums and an historic battlefield (do not miss the "cannon ball" from the Civil War battle) lodged in the Court House column. So you should not be surprised to find a restaurant that harkens to the culture of time honored hospitality and plain old good food!

I had dinner tonight and had the smoked pork chop. Salad was fresh and good. I sat still the bar and got plenty of beer and was not ignored at all.They allow smoking starting at 9 so left. I will find a different place tomorrow evening because of smoking.Plenty of other choices out there. Food was good and service was good.

My wife and I were visiting the area and stopped here for a late lunch. We found the food and service to be excellent! We shared the Spotted Pig Club sandwich and we could only eat half of it, it was so-o-o good and thick with meat! The waitress was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely come back the next time we're in the area!

We always have great service and the tenderloin is huge! A good place for big or large groups too!

I have to give it to this small town, had the pleasure of enjoying dinner with my Mom and Daughter yesterday, we were in the mood for a hamburger and The Spotted Pig did not disappoint. If you're ever traveling this way and would like a taste of home, stop on in and grab a bite. May I recommend the fried mushrooms as well.

Chicken Alfredo is amazing! Restaurant very clean! Waitress very friendly and efficient! Cheesecake was good. Pleasantly surprised! Will definitely be back

Owner is rude and can out cuss a sailor. High prices and smaller portions than other places.Instead of using slice cheese they use a cheap awful cheddar paste. The owners husband will tell lies about customers that don't like the service. Also very limited parking in front of it and the owner, her husband and the manager will take parking spaces in front and make the customers walk further because there too lazy to walk themselves

Th place is a amazing. Great food. Is is cheap to eat and somewhat good service. If you are ever in Lexington you should definitely stop by.
