I would have never discovered this place if not for the KC Zoo run this year. We do the Zoo run most years and this year the packet pick up was at The Running Well Store. I picked up my packet, and then took some time to take in the store itself. First of all it's a small store, but I really liked that they had a big variety of brands, including Glyder and Hoka, which are both brands I really enjoy. They had a sale going while I was there and items in my size were picked over, but had I known about it and gotten in on the action sooner I think I could have snagged some really great deals. Overall, it's a small store, with great items, and friendly service. I love that it's local, and it's a fantastic option if you are looking to purchase some running shoes and avoid a big box store.

I need better shoes so FPO and I went to The Running Well Store on Johnson Drive. It's a small-ish store but on a Saturday afternoon was pretty busy. Jacob greeted us and he was very nice. Very knowledgeable about the different shoes. He measured my feet and had me walk on their treadmill to gauge my steps. He made several recommendations and brought out several different brands for me to try. Sadly, they didn't have the brand and model that I decided would be the best option for me (the new model year starts in about a month so their inventory was low) but the experience was phenomenal. Jacob explained they have a 30 day return policy. If after a month of wearing the shoes you decide you don't like them, you can return them for store credit towards something else in the store. That's cool, and something you can't get from Amazon which requires shoes to be in new and re-sellable condition. I didn't make a purchase this time, but I would definitely keep The Running Well Store in mind the next time I'm looking for shoes.

My first time in the store was a few days ago. They did not have the color of shoes I wanted so the sales person offered to order it from another store and asked me to come in today, which I did. I found out that the wrong shoes were ordered. The sales clerk pushed the wrong button in the computer. I understand that. Stuff like that happens. I told her that. She said she'll order the shoes and it'll be here in another few days. I declined and said " I'd like to think about this again, and NO thank you". At that moment she stared at me for 5 seconds, then turned around and walked off, she walked to the back of the store. And there I was, not knowing if that was it, or if she was coming back, no word was spoken. I waited and the got up and left.Maybe I did not get the memo, but what happened to customer service. Are we just their idiots, and live for them? That's how I felt. I will never be back.BTW, I just ordered the shoes on line.

Hooray for new running shoes that fit well! This store is equivalent to a candy store for a child, I swear I get stars in my eyes. Helpful employees that measured, tracked and suggested the right fit for my needs. Always a bonus, especially cause I have a tendency to check prices first and go for the cheapest, but maybe not the right choice. Speaking of prices, very reasonable in comparison to other running stores I've used in the past. Started a new account that will keep track of my spending and reward me after a few purchases. Always makes me feel good to support local over big chains. Another bonus, it's next to Foggi's Ice Cream...you know, cause you plan on running off those calories.

Getting ready to train for a few runs and I had seen all the great reviews on here. Maybe it was an off day, cuz the day I went in, the three workers in the empty store couldn't be bothered with me. One dude talked to me for a few, but couldn't really answer my questions. Then I stood staring blankly at the shoe wall for a bit, then it became a little longer, then I thought, "hey, I'm going to stand here to see how long it takes for someone to acknowledge the fact that I'm standing here staring blankly at this shoe wall", then I left.

Friendly staff, nice selection, and very helpful. Just beware the return policy. Once you pay, there are no refunds, only store credit. I paid cash and came back the next day to return the unworn shoes and store credit is the only option they offer. Other than that, not a bad place.

I'll be honest, I went to a big box store down the street and was disappointed with the service, so I didn't buy anything (Thank God). I then drove to The Running Well Store, which I should've done first, and was greeted by two very knowledgeable and friendly employees. I immediately got my running analysis completed and my correct measurements taken. They had me trying on different shoes within minutes. The two gentlemen working today were very knowledgeable and friendly. I just tried out my new pair of Brooks and they were great! I highly recommend supporting this local business for all your running needs. I will be back!

Some of the best customer service I've ever seen! I went in a few days ago & still can't stop thinking about how great the customer service was. Incredibly friendly staff.
