I will start this as I always do by saying I don't give out five stars unless I am really blown away. I stopped here for dinner while I was in town for one night. A friend said the had a steak deal that was really good. This was true it was like $17 for a good sized strip steak that was cooked just the way I asked and it tasted great. Our waitress was right on top of refills even though the place was super busy and they were short staffed. The ambiance was that of a sports bar. They had a projector and a screen that they put the playoff baseball game on. Without it I don't think they had enough TV's. It would be a good place to come watch a Chiefs game. I would come back but not sure I will be back in KC anytime soon.

The chums and I visited during a playoff football game. Wow was it festive! "The Quaff" is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. It was not my cup of matcha (or London fog for that matter). I can't speak to the atmosphere when there's not a critical sportsball event happening, but I can speak to the speakers Be warned: speakers blasting the lowest common denominator 80s hits during every commercial break, speakers sometimes blasting aforementioned music DURING the game (you don't cut off Tony and Jim in my house) including after bad moments for the home team????, obnoxious airhorn wielding bouncer that doesn't add any element to the hype, and drunk or otherwise clinky adults on their "best behavior" that have nothing better to do than act like children in public. One villager almost met a cruel fate with the floor after a softball of a high five with my crew. Come on dawg! Am I fun at parties? Oh you bet I am Now for the main event, the food. Wait. This is a sports bar so the drink is the main event. At least that's what our waiter would have you believe when she made the exact same joke about "No ordering water after 5:30 I'm here to make money" three times. Oh! My bad for being halal! No one's laughing sis! Perhaps they should give you a cut of the $10 cover charge so you aren't compelled to leave your dignity at the vestibule. Doggone epic! I won't even get into my interaction while ordering food where she ran a bot script on me that was so patronizing I thought I teleported back to a conversation with my 9th grade math teacher. For real though the food was mid at best. Do not order the chicken sandwich. Just get something that is an absolute greasefest as I'm sure they're better at that. Before I go--I just remembered that I got hit by a shurikened drink coaster that was reportedly thrown by a bartender so you know what? I take everything back, that part was classy!

So, I've been here a few times and always forget to write a review. Basically anytime I come to KC for work, I come here which 5-6x a year. It's super conveniently located to my (and many other) hotel and is just a solid down to earth place with nice people, cold beer, honest prices and damn good burgers. I'm extraordinarily picky about my burgers and I rave about them here. I always get the Q burger. It's cooked to order - for me a flippin glorious medium rare perfection and the black garlic aioli is amazeballs and adds an slightly different flavor than expected compared to regular garlic aioli...maybe a tad smoky? If you don't like garlic, this isn't going to be your jam. Also the fries are awesome - great seasoning and crispy outside / soft inside. Side note - a few people mentioned unfriendly staff or gross bathrooms. I didn't (and never) have experienced any of that. Everyone was great and the bathrooms are..sure, old (old building), but they've always been clean and the women's locks just fine. Definitely recommend this place (obviously).

True sports bar that plays the volume of the game out loud for all to hear. Great sound projection throughout the bar and restaurant. Solid chicken wings with a delicious mango habanero sauce. Good flavor, not spicy with nice sweetness. Loaded taters were yummy. It was fun to find a pool table inside as well! Service was quick and friendly. They support all local sports teams. I can see this place being a great spot to watch your favorite team battle it out.

Came here for the first time on Saturday to get some wings! It seems like a nice, sports bar to hang out at, they also have outdoor seating. Which is definitely a plus for me! Now back to the wings, Man oh man!! They are delicious!!! I got Buffalo sauce with blue cheese. Even the blue cheese was good! I definitely recommend give this place a if you're looking for wings. I'm pretty sure the other bar food they have is good, but I just got wings that day. I was so hungry, I didn't realize until they were all gone I forgot to take pictures lol. That gives me a reason to go back for sure.

I haven't been here in years but came on a Wednesday, and it was steak night. Met a friend here since we were going to the Kauffman later that evening. My only issue is the parking, there is barely any which is hard for me at the moment since my knee is injured. It was around 615 after 20 mins of driving around I was finally found a spot not to far. The server came and took my drink order right away and brought water. We shared a steak, and it came out right away. It was seasoned very well and was tender and my loaded baked potato was good as well. I would come back on steak night or any other time but hopefully with my knee healed or when I can be dropped off at the door. Seemed pretty laid back and they have a whole other section with pool tables and such. Good place to meet up with a group and staff was nice.

I first visited The Quaff in about 1986 and became a frequent flyer when I lived in Quality Hill and the Garment District from 1988-1993. I spent many a night closing down the joint while sipping cheap drinks, watching sports, playing pop-a-shot, mingling with the local sports and TV celebrities, and navigating the weird toilet layout. Since those days The Quaff, has tripled its size, added a ton of neon lights to the wall of glass windows on Broadway and yet still retains it's neighborhood sports bar and grill vibe.My Sunday afternoon visit while sitting in the same booths I sat in 35+ years ago really brought out the memories and it was great to share them with a buddy who had never visited prior. While I have had a lot a lot of beverages there, this was one of only a few times dining in. I had tenderloin that I was very impressed with! Large yet tender and breaded well and priced right. A definite return trip just for the sandwich. Joe Quaff - Thank you for creating and nurturing a Kansas City landmark watering hole that has provided decades of memories.

The Quaff was not that busy on a recent Thursday evening visit. Classic dive bar vibes. Our group all had fun, but service was pretty slow despite them not being that busy. It was faster to go up to the bar and get things ourselves. The bathrooms were the worst, even by dive bar standards. The men's restroom is just two nasty toilets side by side in a small closet. I'd recommend avoiding them if you are able.

Best damn Bloody Mary I've had in years and served by a bartender I think people were calling, Animal? 5/5 would order again. Bar was a total sausage fest though. No available snapper in sight. Great place for bros, don't go looking for hoes.
