It's very dark in here. Cool atmosphere. Our server was Raegan. She was nice. The patty melt wasn't bad. Not great either. The Reuben was delicious!!The soda gun was pouring flat soda so she took that off our bill. The chicken wings were FANTASTIC!! Really damn good. Great neighborhood bar in Westport.

Pitch Cocktail Week French 75 One of my favorite cocktails for the simplicity and the clean, fizzy freshness. It's citrus forward and this particular one has a more prominent gin flavor rather than champagne. But, for someone who was getting a little burnt out on the overly sweet holiday drinks offered on the list, this was a great option. You can never go wrong with a sophisticated French classic. The happy hour here is incredible, upscale and the bites are bountiful and priced around $10. My mom and I shared the loaded tots, which were seasoned to perfection, and the brussel sprouts. The sprouts were a standout. They were crispy and slightly sweet with an interesting gremolata of sorts containing candied lemon peel. Other than our specialty cocktail, my mom also tried a very reasonable priced local beer for $2.50?! It was light and fruity and an easy drinking lager. The bartender took great care of us, and the food was prepared fast but tasted way more gourmet than basic bar food.

Love the space. The remodel was well designed and thought out. Lots of coat hooks and outlets for customers to use. I also loved the back patio space. I think that could be lovely on a summer evening with cocktails and friends. We went for brunch. My sister-in-law was craving a Bloody Mary and boy do they deliver!! The other cocktails were ok, but the Bloody Mary was a whole dang meal. Shrimps and bacon and the standard pickles and olives. It was tapas in a glass. We also tried the scramble, the corn beef hash and the cinnamon roll! All good, but pretty standard. I'll be coming back to try some of their sandwich options at some point. The staff were friendly, but a little new. Nothing wrong with that since they were super attentive and willing to ask a manager if they didn't know something! 7.5 out of 10.

Great little neighborhood joint that is super vibey. We enjoyed the cold beer, conversations and the Brussel sprouts!! I'll use their combo of roasted brussels, lemon zest, honey, nuts and hard white cheese from now on. The bar tender was super fun and it was a late, rainy night so locals from the Westport neighborhood were in abundance.

We came here to do our fantasy football drafts. It is like a sports bar but more quiet, and relaxed. We liked my chicken wings but would tey something different next time. The skirt steak was really good, salad and fries were just okay.

Old bar vibes, with amazing food. I make everyone try the brussel sprouts when i go- the honey, bacon, walnut and lemon mix is something most would never think of but they are my favorite menu item. 10/10 recommend. I've been for dinner and brunch and have always been impressed by the food. It's a great low key bar atmosphere and could even be a great date spot. A hidden gem!

We live the Pressed Penny. Best Brussel sprouts in town and great bar tenders. They have a late night menu and are a must in the West Plaza neighborhood

I just moved to midtown and this is now officially my go-to place! First, it's cozy and unfussy, AND the place pays tribute to Hemingway. I can walk to the PP, so I'm lucky, but there is parking behind and street parking nearby is easy. Inside there's a bar side and dining side. I love to belly up to the old wood bar, and the servers and bar tenders have consistently been welcoming and helpful. Bree is especially wonderful. Outside is a little covered patio seating area, where my dog, boyfriend and I found refuge and a much-needed drink after one of the recent epic storms. There is a great happy hour menu, and the place also offers brunch and a great dinner menu. So drinks first: outstanding. I am a Bloody Mary girl, and the Pressed Penny's standard Bloody is in my Top 3 (which rotate depending on my mood because they're so different). The spicy version has a perfect kick--not overly done--and packed with savory flavor. They use olives stuffed with piri-piri peppers, yum, and bless the rim with tajin, again, yum. They also offer a ginormous "Colossal" version topped with a full skewer of shrimp, but I haven't tried it yet! (Yet.) And there's a great selection of beers, wine and anything else you'd want. Food wise, we've had their burgers during KC burger week, and they were great. Boyfriend had the patty melt and raves about it. I went the purist standard cheeseburger route on brioche bun and was happy about it. Juicy savory burgers cooked just right and the bun was buttery grilled. I needed extra napkins for all the juicy yum. Oh and they offer a fries/tots mix so you don't need to choose! Fries have something, maybe a little rosemary, on them to make them a little special and both are crispy outside, soft and warm inside. No ketchup needed. We've also tried the brunch and declared it a favorite spot for Sunday brunch. Boyfriend had a skillet with potatoes, sausage and over-easy eggs w gravy added. Gooey, and hearty stuff! I had the eggs Benedict and added smoked salmon. The eggs Benedict are offered at a good value base price and you choose of and what kind of protein you want to add (ham, bacon, salmon, etc). The hollandaise sauce is super tangy and would pair perfectly with a salty bacon or ham. My dish also came with potatoes that were tossed with that same kind of rosemary seasoning. Really tasty. I noticed loads of vegetarian options and a lot in general in the menu I want to try.I love my little neighborhood spot for a cozy bite and drink!

The best ambiance off the plaza and West Port. I started going there a few years ago. The food is fantastic!!!Great place for a Date Night. Small and sometimes quiet for a romantic dinner. My attraction to this place was the bar set up. I love wood work (unpainted). It took me back in time. A high class early Western time tavern. No spittoons allowed. The Huge mirror is awesome. It gets my recommendation as a place to check out if you want a low key, chilout place to get away from the rat race.My only drawback is parking. You can park out front. There is parking in the back. But if the place is packed. On street parking is your only choice.
