The Merc Co+op

Nice selection for a small supermarket. But the prices are crazy high. Almost $2 for a chicken pot pie that's like .89-.99 cents elsewhere. But I guess being in the middle of downtown KC Kansas that's to be expected.

As a Lawrence resident in the mid '90's, I loved shopping at The Merc. They have finally opened their 2nd store in downtown KCK, and although it is not extremely close to where I live, I was excited to see them come to town. Being a Co-op they are able to keep their prices reasonable and able to support local growers, ranchers and manufacturers. I saw many "local" signs around the store and some great prices. They are fairly small - similar in size to an Aldi, yet contain as many departments as a large Hy-Vee - Butcher, flowers, deli, cafe, eating area, bakery and even a classroom for ongoing events and classes. Just like Trader Joe's for me, this will be a destination store that I won't hesitate to drive a few extra miles to visit. Plenty of parking in a private lot and just a couple of blocks off of I-70.

I'm a big fan of the Merc Co-op. I was skeptical when they first announced they were coming to Wyandotte County. They've really listened to the community.The most important thing for me though is the first day I went there, I heard a man say he was so thankful to have a grocery store in the area. That means the world to me.The employees are always nice. The store is well lit and easy to navigate. The coffee is delicious and they have baked goods from KC Cupcakes which is right down the street. I love that they have a good portion of local goods.The prices are competitive and they have sale items all of the time.

Very great set-up! So clean & well put together. Has had all of the basic essentials I've needed so far when making a quick run to the store!

Excellent new grocery store based in Lawrence ks. Has everything from produce to meats and deli. Great prices. Easy location and just off downtown freeways.

I go 2 to 4 times a week there prices are reasonable the staff are freindly abd respectful abd it is Convenient where i can walk and there salads are delicious.

Everyone is really friendly here. The store is small but has most essentials, and they make decent sandwiches for a grocery store.

First visit today, used one of the great weekly coupons they've mailed to local residents. The store was clean, well organized. The prices were normal. Love the coffee/food station. The workers (I hope or local residents) were extremely professional, pleasant & friendly. I will definitely return, I hope to get coffee on my next visit. Thank you for coming to our community. I Pray the community appreciates, values & respects the business!!!!
