What an amazing meal! The Majestic has earned their reputation as a great dining venue. The inside has a cool retro/rat pack vibe. You can feel the history. The service was spectacular! From the time we arrived until we walked out the door, we were well taken care of. The meal was amazing! I had a three course meal off a special menu and it was great. The gnocchi was some of the best I have ever had! I can't wait to get back! Great food, great service, great venue!!

People come here for the ambiance for sure. Live music and old timey vibes. For me, this place is expensive but it serves as a great special occasion as place. I recently came with my work team to celebrate yearend wrap up and had been before for a birthday dinner. The steaks are good, but even when I order medium well, my steak comes out with more pink in the middle than I expect. But I never want to run the risk of saying well done and it coming out dry. Also opt for the Oscar style added to your steak. Worth the up charge! Also, I'd choose any of the apps except the mushrooms. I've got that twice now and they have come out pretty flimsy both times. Not crispy at all. Drinks are excellent. The espresso martini goes does smooth. They also have a larger NA list than I would expect for a place like this. Server was great and friendly. Gave recommendations and was around the appropriate amount. Not too distant but not asking how everything was every 5 mins.

My husband and I went here on a Sunday night, our reservations were for 7:30 p.m. When we got there I was surprised at how busy it was for a Sunday night. Pretty much all the tables were full. We stood at the host stand for about 10 minutes before someone came to help us. The host came out of the backroom because she was on a phone call. It was nice that she took the call in the back so it didn't disturb those whose table was next to the stand, but we were a little confused because we weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or not, and we were standing there for a while. She eventually sat us, and our server was great. He was sweet and had some good recommendations. They were out of their bread service, so I was disappointed because I was looking forward to a good roll and the honey butter. I got the crab cake for the appetizer, it was $16, and it was the SMALLEST crab cake I have ever seen. No larger than 2 inches all the way around. It was very good to say the least, however, for that price I wish it would've been a little bigger. I got the KC PRIME STRIP, and it had an amazing crust and flavor, the only thing I would say is that it was pretty salty. I like seasoning, trust me, I season the crap out of my food at home, but salt can easily be overdone. My husband got the Bone in Ribeye, his was good too, but on the contrary, his LACKED seasoning. For sides, I got the twice-baked potato, and my husband got a regular baked potato. If you get ANYTHING HERE, get the TWICE-BAKED POTATO!! It was my favorite thing at this restaurant!!!!! 5/5 for the twice-baked potato and crab cake. The steaks were both cooked to our temperature liking, so that was nice.I got an espresso martini, and it was sort of icy. I have had espresso martinis at many restaurants, and this one was not very great. I've had better. We both got Dr. Pepper's as well.3/5 for drinks.I loved the piano player, his music was beautiful. The lighting was a bit bright for my taste, but it was a cool scene overall. The total for our tab was just about $235 before tipping. We collectively decided we wouldn't be going back solely because of the price-to-quantity ratio.Service 4/5Food 3/5.Atmosphere 4/5

Probably the most expensive meal I've ever paid for. That being said, it was extremely good! The steaks were on point, the sides were good and the service was top notch! We had drinks upstairs (street level) and the bartender was dressed very old timey and he was quite impressive! We were seated downstairs where there was a 3 piece jazz ensemble. Was pretty loud but it was all perfect. Celebrated my wife's birthday with friends. They brought her a dessert of her choice on the house. Cheesecake with raspberry sauce, mmmm. Overall, very pricey, but very good! Would go back definitely!

Man. The 1st time we came here the rolls melted in your mouth and the 32 day aged steak could be cut with a spoon. So fast forward we drove from Oklahoma for our anniversary. This. Was. Not. The. Same. Place. Sadly they were out of risotto. We ordered roasted mushrooms. They were excellent! As was the Mac n cheese. The steak. The 32 day aged steak... ugh. It took a steak knife ferociously working to tear it apart. I swallowed whole pieces to avoid chewing on the fat, gristle, whatever that was. Told the waitress and she was like oh, must have been a bad cut and moved on. Such a let down.

Visiting KC I looked up best spot for some live jazz and this place popped up. I made a reservation for the jazz supper club. The atmosphere is wonderful, really makes you feel like you're back in time at a speakeasy. My waiter was awesome and welcoming. The band was amazing and really set the tone for the evening. I admit I was overly impressed with my meal. I got the pork belly, had a great flavor but was a little tough. And for $45 would have been nice for it to at least come with a salad or some bread as a starter. In any case overall the whole atmosphere is a must try if you're ever in the area.

This is one of my favorite spots in downtown KC! The food is amazing, the the downstairs bar is the place to be! They have jazz bands down there regularly (check for days/hours), but there's nothing better than a stand up base and great jazz music! I don't get downtown enough, but can't wait to go back soon. It's truly a KC classic. The service is always great. Check it out!

Great food great service!!! Highly recommend, not cheap eats! Casual dining at its best! Everything was great!!! Just go try it!! Make a reservation, and try to be there just before the piano guy plays at 630p.It is not a jazz trio the day I went. Check to see who is on schedule. Live music is always a great time.

What a find! This historic restaurant has live jazz and wait staff that is absolutely top tier! Plus all of the food was absolutely decadent. We went for my birthday and ended up with a great table right by the stage and while it was loud, it was still easy to hold a discussion.
