If you're wanting good drinks and lots of sightlines with which to watch sportsball, then The Kingdom is your kind of spot. Happy hour runs from 3-7 with solid food shareable options, reduced-price drinks, and a great crafted cocktail lineup. The food is about what you would expect, that is to say, bar & grille fare. It's good but not great, but when you pair up a pretty fair cocktail with a happy hour noshable or a sandwich from the menu, then it is a definite winner. Give the Garlic Cheese Curds a look & if you're sharing them, then just know they likely wont last. The sandwich array is somewhat standard but never boring, and the Turkey Melt is a really good option. If there is any knock, then it's the high ceilings and ambient noise. Even when not crowded, noise gets trapped in here and it can 'seem' loud. If you're there for convo or you're noise-sensitive, then this might be a turnoff for you, but when the home team is playing and the crowd is amped, then the noise would fit.Service is really great, and they're fairly quick with order turnaround. Parking is JoCo, which is to say that with all the land out here, parking lots are big and omnipresent. And pricing is on par for the area with two people getting out of there for $40-ish with drinks & snacks included. The Kingdom announces itself as a 'more than a sports bar' and where 'there is always a party', and they're not lying. It's a good spot with the function of a sports bar, but it isn't a five-star place.

I ordered food here a few weeks ago when we had that snow storm in KC. I had to go into work that day and needed lunch. Luckily they were open. I got the shrimp wrap and tots. Both were very good and the portions were large. The bartender was very nice and told me to "please be safe out there". It was empty in there of course because of the weather, however, I liked how open it was and the bar looked nice.

Wanted a quick bite to eat. Decided to try this restaurant. My order was 1 Turkey melt, side salad and two brownies. The atmosphere was good and the service was fast. My melt was melted (bacon not done, cheese not melted and turkey was cold) the side salad was bland. The brownie was good. Next time I will provide instructions.

This is a good local dive bar with some good live music. The food is good, but they have raised their prices quite a bit lately (which I do understand), but they used to have a great lunch menu that was reasonably priced. Portions are large, but the food is great. My service was great (Christian at the bar). They are recently under new management and made some great improvements to the chairs/tables, which was much needed. Certainly a place to check out and a fun place to watch Chiefs games, but it can get really busy.

This is an updated review after new ownership took over. The difference is night and day in terms of appreciation for customers. Everyone was friendly and attentive to guests. It's still mediocre sports bar food but that's fine for what it is.The major turnoff for me, however, was the dishonest pricing. The cocktail menu listed an Angel's Envy Old Fashioned for $6.50, regularly priced, not just happy hour. This is insanely low, I know, but that's what they listed. But on my receipt I saw they instead charged me $8 for the pour, plus $2 to make it an old fashioned. In my mind, even $10 is a good price for an old fashioned, but I just don't understand the deception. Why not just list it for $10?

A group of us were in for March Madness on Thursday. We got there at 11 when games start and none of the far wall TVs had hoops on. We asked the bartender to change to hoops and he turned 2 of 3 but the third was not to be turned until the next game started. Yes, there were soooo many people watching the muted preseason mlb highlights. Did I mention the reason we had to ask the bartender to change channels was because our waiter was nonexistent and creepy with the women at our table and we watched him at other tables too. He shouldn't be working in any customer service type job. The cheese bites were bag, the chicken bites ok. We were planning on being there for the long haul on Thursday but left to another sports bar. It's March Madness, you're a sports bar-cater to that. Won't be back.

This new Chiefs-themed sports bar has a lot going for it: a good neighborhood location, games, plenty of TVs, a great theme, a patio and BBQ on the menu.I enjoyed the reasonably priced well drink ($4.50) while sitting on a super comfy stool at the bar, where the service was still getting up to speed. The seating area had 19 65" TVs, three 85" TVs, two electronic dart games, two Dragon's Ascent games, a Golden Tee game and a hoops game. I also noticed a patio area outside with cornhole.LIve music, postgame shows and events are planned. I hope they also plan to have daily food and drink specials with a happy hour.Overall, very nice.

We had a few of their burger and crispy chicken sandwich options for lunch. Those were very good, along with the fries and garlic cheese curds. The fries remind me a lot of McDonald's fries.I wouldn't recommend the pizzas tho.

I've been wanting to check out The Kingdom for a while. I saw that Nick Schnebelen from Trampled Under Foot was coming, and decided to go see his show and check out this newer spot. Nick and his band did an awesome job, and put on an amazing show even though the crowd was pretty light. Nick's social and The Kingdom's were hyping up the show, but neither mentioned that there was a $10 cover per person. A cover isn't the end of the world, but I'd much rather have a spend minimum. The cover only applied if you were a sucker and came in through the front door. I saw multiple people throughout the night come in from the patio door and not have to pay the cover. The cover seemed to be turning away a fair number of people, so it might be something they want to think more about.I also have to give props to the owner of The Kingdom. He was working his tail off. He was everywhere. Constantly moving around and checking on things. I wish his staff had been there to help him out some.A lot of the staff just seemed to be hanging out and/or drinking. I'm not really sure what was going on, but it is never a good sign when staff is sitting at the bar drinking and eating during a Saturday night, and you can't really tell who is working and who is off the clock. Sometimes they'd be serving other customers or friends or other off duty staff, and sometimes they'd just be chilling at the bar.One of the staff was in the bathroom at the same time as me and left without washing their hands. I then saw them return to their barstool and drink some more. They then went behind the bar and still without washing their hands made drinks for themselves and a couple of others at the bar. Unclear if this person was on the clock or not, but not a good look on multiple levels.I ordered some food before the incident in the bathroom. The chicken nachos had good flavor, but the chicken and cheese on the nachos arrived to the table cold. The bacon wrapped shrimp was hot and delicious, and I really liked the sauce that came with the shrimp. Live music and sports seem like an amazing combination in a neighborhood hangout, and the owner was super awesome, but I think he needs to ask for better from his staff in general.

The bar is spacious and has awesome graphics...plenty of TVs for viewing sports as well. $5 lunch burger during the week is very good and so are the onion straws. But during a game on the weekend, the food was inedible. Do not order nachos until you absolutely adore cilantro....they were covered in it. "Turkey bacon sandwich on sourdough with pepperjack or provolone" sounded OK -- nope, see photo below. And as someone else mentioned in these reviews, I did pick a cheese (which I barely saw on my white bread) and was then charged $.75 extra for it. Detest places that do this....why?
