I took a tour of the J KC today. I was uber-impressed. The gym facility is expansive and spotlessly clean. It has advanced equipment and tons of class options. Heritage KC is for the 55+ community and provides art classes, travel trips, and educational programs. Also under this same enormous roof is an authentic kosher deli, and a live play theater. Go take a tour. You will be surprised at this jewel in our midst.

I've been a member here semi-regularly since 2002. I'll leave for a year and then be drawn back by the value and features that the JCC offers. The facility offers many features including an indoor pool, a huge 50M outdoor lap pool, water slides, diving boards, squash courts (my personal fav), racket ball courts, kids gym with rock climbing wall, basketball courts, indoor track, weight room, yoga studio, spinning studio, tennis courts, softball diamonds, soccer fields... Whew... That is just the athletic facilities. They also offer many other community related services such as pre-school, day care, child and adult education, self defense training, fine arts programming... etc...The JCC is truly a world-class facility and my corporate membership that costs ~$50 per month is a steal!Generally speaking, for such a large facility with so many members, the place never seems jam-packed with people like Life Time Fitness always seems to be. The longest that I've ever waited for a lane at the indoor pool is about 30 minutes. 95% of the time I dont even need to wait. I've never waited for a lane at the outdoor pool and I always am able to schedule a squash court.I hesitate to write this review because I dont want a mad-rush of new members to spoil my oasis... :-DThe JCC is a truly great facility and a asset to the greater KC Area...

The J is amazing place to go and visit. the turf field is good bad the courts are good. Idk why the heat is so high in the gym but everything else is great. The people are nice, reasonable prices ( I think idek ). and it has good swimming pools. I have been a member since 1492 and even then during the Columbus days the J never disappoint.

UpdateThe Senior Manager, Bob Hennecke, called me the next day around 4:30 pm.He told me after reviewing my request, they made changes on the schedules to have Tuesday evening open from 7:30 pm - 10 pm, and Saturday open from 11:00 am - 1: pm and 5:30 pm - 8 pm. During the Saturday open hours, the field is non-reservable, and it is for all other member to use.The senior manager Bob Hennecke is really flexible and considerate. I can not say enough thanks to him for calling me the next day with a solution already made. Best wishes for you !!!

( if you don't have a membership they will not act nice towards you) I've been going here since I was younger, I even went to preschool here and summer camp. Yesterday I decided to go to the pool with a friend after not visiting for a few years. The staff at the pool were rude to us because we didn't have a membership- my friends card was not working with the system (not sure why?) the staff rudely asked "what card do you even have?" And laughed at her. Then asked us to go to the main desk to see why the card wasn't working and when we walked in the new modern decor was honestly overwhelming- luckily the card went through at the front desk. But 40$ for horrible service??? We left early. As well as the Concessions stopped selling the warm food and the man working that was also just not kind whatsoever and again their system wasn't working with a normal Visa card. Genuinely I was excited to go here again Because I had an amazing time as a child, but now it's ruined.

I have absolutely horrible experience. If you are foreign with really heavy accent please do yourself a favor and avoid the place. I came here Saturday evening to use outside pool for my training. As soon as I walked inside the building ( I had no idea you can enter the pool from outside) and was trying to pay for the entrance a young gentleman 20-26 years old with curly, dark hair started yelling at me- don't touch the door! I explained I wasn't trying to and if I can buy a one day pass to swim in the pool outside. My English is a little broken so I'm not sure if he didn't understand and got annoyed by it but he was yelling at me the whole time telling me that I can't come in without my ID which I didn't have on me. When I asked him- what's your name- so I would be able to talk to someone about him treading me that way, he said- you don't need to know my name. There were 2 more employees, they didn't say a word, they were just watching. One gave me the manager card saying- you should talk to her. Finally the same young gentleman who was yelling at me said I can come in, I asked how much am I paying and they said- for you it's $20... I ask why $20 since everyone else pay $10? I got answer- because that's what it is for you.. this literally made my cry. I will definitely never come back
