The Goddard School

Our child is thriving at Goddard Olathe! We are impressed with the level of care and attention both the staff and the teachers provide. Equally important: they are military friendly! 100% recommend.

I love the school. All my sons teachers have been so sweet. And his first teacher changed my outlook on daycare facilities. It made it easy for him to want to go to school, and it put our minds at ease that he was in such great care. The owner is so sweet and really cares about all of the kids.

When i came to pick my son up and tell the office we wouldn't ever be coming back the office assistant said word for word, "fantastic because we don't want you guys here anyways" (in FRONT OF MY CHILD in an extremely rude and hurtful tone). I honestly couldn't believe how nasty her comment was and how clearly PERSONAL this was for her...which is really just bizarre to me. She basically complains about my son's behavior when she clearly cannot control hers as a grown woman. I was never rude to her or anyone for that matter (which still wouldn't make her comment justified). Also, when my child was acting up in class the owner sat me down in her office and treated me like i was in trouble and then proceeded to ask me "if i was personally okay because it usually starts there". I am appalled by how disrespected and discriminated against i feel. I will say I absolutely loved my childs two main teachers but we were extremely mistreated by the office staff and owner. This is my son that i love deeply and i feel like they handled my situation very very poorly and did not consider me or my son's feelings. I'm really offended and don't think it is acceptable to be treated this way and honestly don't understand why it was handled like this. My son had been going to school there for three years and feel we deserved to be respected and treated kindly/fairly. Over the years i also picked my son up over and over in diapers that hadn't been changed for seemingly the entire day and was sent home in poopy diapers that gave him terrible rashes...which is completely inexcusable. The thing that was most upsetting to me was every conversation or "meeting" i had with the office assistant and owner about my son's behavior was always done in front of my son, which was very distressing to him. The owner also once managed to tell me in front of my son that "he was not normal" which was insulting and non-constructive. When I met with his teachers at parent teachers conferences they told my son was doing great and how far he'd come there was NOTHING negative said so to hear from the owner that my child "was not normal" made me feel extremely blindsided. Every single time the owner said something inappropriate to me it was always frustrating to hear from the staff that the owner had "poor communication skills but a good heart" trying to excuse this behavior.

I can't say enough great things about this place! We love it here. The teachers are so awesome and the curriculum is amazing. The growth I've seen in my son is exponential!! And he's hasn't even been there a year. I highly recommend this Goddard school!!

This school is not what it advertises. We gave it a few months and were not impressed with the quality of care. Furthermore, it is one of the most expensive centers around. When we compared to others, we found a lot more i.e. certified Spanish and Music teachers, computer labs, organic menus and they cost a lot less!
