My family and I frequent this establishment and they are extremely consistent. Great customer service and very tasty options!

Yummy!!! A small little cozy shop, next to the chocolate shop. Excellent seating outside for good weather. They are happy to let you sample whatever you want.Not sure if this is common for the shop, but there weren't very many flavors available in the case. Maybe 10? Half of which were sorbet flavors, amazing for those who have a lactose sensitivity. I got the toasted coconut and pistachio, and loved the pistachio. I've never had a natural color for pistachio ice cream, and this one was nutty, almost chocolatey and so good. Yum!

Yum....just go!! Amazing gelato! Our dogs literally stop in their tracks and won't move when they see this shop on our walks. They LOVE their pup cups! Dark chocolate and vanilla are my go-to's but tried the birthday cake and it had chunks of cake inside! WONDERFUL!! Highly recommend!

We came here for a fun frozen treat! We got a variety of sizes but overall it was nothing spectacular :(. Staff didn't feel friendly- stern and stingy. We had kids with us and they seemed annoyed when we asked to try flavors. The grapefruit gelato was nice! They had a nice variety of flavors too. We asked for toppings which we were happy to pay for but when we saw the portion of the topping I was really disappointed. Everyone in our group ordered multiple toppings and paid $1/ topping but only received ONE item each. $1 for ONE SINGULAR gummy bear is EXCESSIVE. I'd like to go back for another scoop of gelato, but most definitely not getting toppings. Hopefully a friendly visit too.

This is a very classic and simple gelato shop. It smells like fresh waffle cones and is decorated sweetly. There are sections of chocolate and ice cream for dogs! The staff was nice, letting us try flavors and wrapping up the puppy ice cream for us to take home with us. I recommend The Flying Cow for a sweet treat in downtown OP!

It was seriously such a spontaneous find for me! I just happened to be driving down the road that this place was located, and I thought it was SO cute that I had to stop by and try it. A cute little quaint gelato shop in such a cute neighborhood. Staff was so nice and patient with me trying all the different flavors before I settled on one! On Mondays they also do a deal where the small scoop is a $1 cheaper - love that!Just such a cute place to go with friends, will definitely be back to show mine!!

This spot has come a long way! I was one of the OGs back in the day who knew of their limited, but special-to-us gelato offering during summers inside Annedore's. Now they're all grown up, with a new space adjacent to Annedore's Chocolates (same ownership) and they have a wonderful atmosphere for a post-dinner treat. Their gelato is usually very good. I feel like the play here is to get something with chocolate due to the Annedore's connection, OR go the complete opposite and try their tart and tangy sorbets. They have a basil citrus one that is fantastic and light. They also have a great vibe outside; it's shady, lots of seating, a pup dog hook, and it's just so much less.. chaotic than some of the other popular spots in town. Really happy to see them thriving in this new setup, even if a small, nostalgic part of me liked it the old way a tad better. They are *much* busier now and it's even become a more reliable option to take the family all spring and summer long.

I consider myself an ice cream/ gelato connoisseur and try to get to every ice cream place in KC. I was so excited when I saw this place was opening! It is so stinkin' cute inside and I loved the flavor options! We went around 7 pm on the weekend and it was packed! There were people of all ages enjoying their ice cream. I got the key lime was was *chef's kiss* and my friend got the root beer float which is made with Shatto root beer milk. The owner was so friendly and was letting us try every flavor we wanted. They have cold water and cups to grab and go while you are enjoying your ice cream and to help keep you cool. There are a good amount of seating outside since the inside is a little small. I definitely recommend checking this place out and getting some delicious ice cream!

If you're familiar with the artisanal chocolates at Annedore's, then you can expect that same level of excellence with the gelato at Flying Cow.I loved seeing a small array of flavor options, ranging from the standard (vanilla, maybe mint chocolate chip) to some experimental (root beer float, anyone?) to some esoteric (grapefruit Prosecco?). Gelato is rich, ya know, and a good-sized dish is ample to satisfy your flavor palate and your sweet tooth. A medium cup runs about $5-ish and is a whale of a value given the depth of flavors (the Mrs. did a crazy delicious double chocolate) and the portioning. Like I said, gelato can run heavy, so pace yourself and enjoy the taste profiles of these handcrafted delights.If the weather is agreeable and the space is there, take a seat at one of the patio tables out front and enjoy your gelato. The neighborhood is charming and mature, and everything seems to go at just the right speed for you to enjoy a gelato break.

Very cute place that I stumbled on after Sunday Lunch. I am giving it 3 stars because I don't feel like they should've opened that day because they barley had any flavors. The freezer display cause had A LOT of empty space. I got the rootbeer gelato. It had great flavor and I enjoyed it. The person who was with me got the toasted coconut and strawberry, and they enjoyed it. I would like to come back when they have a full selection of flavors. Its a very cute place.
