The Epicurean Lounge

This is the best late night spot to go, if you want to avoid the drama of the youngin crowd, have a decent drink at a reasonable price and get some steppin in. I always make a point to come here when I'm in KC, it's like a big Jessie's Place (a lounge in north Omaha).The best part is no sports wear is allowed, so the crowd is definitely grown and sexy, just how I like it.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Thursday night is when I go for two-steppin. The club is beautiful, and the entire staff (bartenders, waitresses, and security) are all so sweet and kind. Good vibes!

Always enjoyed the Ep! Only time I go out to a club is when I come home to KCMO! Mature folks who are ready to get their party on. No drama. Leave that junk on reality TV shows. Music is always popping and you only sit down long enough to eat delicious wings and enjoy your favorite adult beverages.

If I could I would give this place negative five stars. They want to be a clean establishment but they let in who they want. I've seen at least two handfuls of men get in with t-shirts on and the bouncer complains about one more. I don't really understand the dress code at this place. They are unorganized and very unprofessional. If you don't have and extra twenty dollars to put in their pocket then you mind as well not even come here.

My suggestion to the owner is; lower your price on premium liquor. I drink PATRON and I know how much a fifth cost ,there is 17 shots in a fifth . If you charge 5$ a shot you would make a profit & you would have more people coming in to drink. you charge TOO much for your drinks. Keep the people coming back with friends and don't be greeted.

I happened upon this place while visiting KC for the first time. Not alot of advertisement for it, but you can find them on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Epicurean-Lounge/139618386057442?ref=ts. First of all free parking! I went on a Sunday and I had free admission. I got there just in time so hear the last of the jazz band who rocked it out with Stevie and Prince songs. Nice! After the jazz set, the DJ had some great old and new jams playing on the dance floor--something for everyone. Now ladies, I have to tell you the brothers in this club like to dance. They're working it on the dance floor just as much as you, which was a trip to me! Secondlt, they don't mind coming up to you and asking you to dance! That REALLY floored me because usually the men stand on the wall and do not dance. This was a nice change of pace. I even had a guy who looked like Leon from the five heartbeats ask me dance and teach me how to two step. That was definetly a great moment! Plenty of seating (although kind of tight) and clean restrooms. However, the one negative I must comment on was the drinks. I've had kool aid stronger than margarita I was given at this place. Stick to bottled beer for your money. Overall, FANTASTIC time!

I would totally recommend this place. They had a Bomb playlist. Great vibes. Amazing energy.

Think of the R. Kelly song "Step In the Name of Love" or "Happy People". This is a local African American,R&B club/bar. Hot wings, cheap drinks, good music and dancing. Older set of people but a good time to be had by all. This is your "aunties and uncles" spot. No drama just the real people of Kansas City coming to party. Leave the Bougie attitude at the door and come turn up and dance at the Epicurean. Watching is fun too. You can't be an amateur stepper here. Practice in the mirror before you come. Lol! Enjoy.
