Ordering area
Lots of windows and plenty of places to sit. It's so inviting. The perfect spot to enjoy a truly tasty latte.
Delicious drip coffee with an excuisite strawberry and cream puff pastry.
You can tell if a coffee shop is good if the basic drinks are delicious. This latte was stellar.

I wish this place luck. It just seems that it hangs by threads. Word now is that it is between ownership and hopefully things improve. The coffee is still great, but there isn't enough food apparently by 9 a.m. to go around. I had arrived and ordered their spinach and bacon quiche, which I've known as the "Keto" quiche but the barista has informed me that it's no longer called that. He claimed something about fad diets, and rather sounded snooty about it. Whatever. I asked about the bakery items available, since there were only three, and asked him whether there were any more available and he sarcastically said that he wasn't hiding any baked items. Excuse me, but sometimes coffee shops will have baked items that they haven't come around to displaying yet. I decided to order the scone, which he told me was a lemon scone, even though I told him that the white icing had speckles on it, similar to vanilla bean. He affirmed in a snotty way, "It's lemon."After I received the scone and took a bite, I knew that I was right. I asked for a refund in which he insisted that what I had was a lemon. I told him how it didn't taste like lemon but vanilla bean. He insisted again. Yes, we were doing this. He lamented that his bakery person told him that it was lemon. Hey, if your bakery person tells you lemon, it's not on me. He gave me the refund. The latte I received was supposed to be a pistachio latte, not a pistachio latte taste at all. I wasn't sure what it was.

This place is rad. VERY cool, open atmosphere. Good coffee, good coffee-shop food options. The owner Drew is awesome and is always down for a good conversation. It's a place you can come in the morning, have some great coffee and a breakfast burrito, work for a few hours as there are outlets everywhere, and then go somewhere nearby for lunch as it's right in the square. PLENTY of room and accommodations to hang and work. Love this place.

Fantastic experience with friendly staff, awesome atmosphere & wonderful macchiato. I actually was headed to the coffee shop down the street since Delaware didn't show up on my Yelp search for a local coffee shop while I was visiting the area. I noticed the neon open sign, 'coffee' sign and the classic black and white paint motif.

Every town we visit, I always seek out local coffee shops. On this visit to Independence, MO, we came across The Delaware on Google maps. There aren't very many coffee shops in Independence to begin with. This coffee shop and event space is one of the few gems in town. It's unexpected and has a fresh, natural, sun-drenched vibe to it. The event space is great and the bride's lounge where we sat and enjoyed our coffee is cozy and inviting. Drew makes a mean latte that is delicious. He's also super fun to talk to. I've been to trendy coffee shops in the U.S. and overseas that have terrible coffee. The Delaware has both style and substance. We'll definitely be back the next time we stay in Independence.

Nice little coffee shop in Independence. building is really cool converted garage that gives it a cool feel. The coffee is excellent, and the Cherry Mash latte was really good if you like cherry cordials and coffee. Drew who works there was very hospitable and really just a good guy Great place to wait on the county assessment line, recharge, or just hang.
