I grew up Catholic and ended up attending general Christian churches after my grandparents passed away. A few weeks ago I invited a friend to church and she wanted to go to Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception since it was close to her house and she is Catholic. I enjoyed Mass although it has changed a little and I do not remember all of the rituals. The church is beautiful, the service was nice and the choir was excellent. I was surprised the collection baskets came around twice, the first is for the church and the second is for the Catholic region or Bishop (not quite sure). The Priest is very friendly, he came up and introduced himself after Mass. There were people there from all walks of life including some in suits, a few guys in jeans and kids which was nice to see. I have been back to Mass a few times and really enjoy it.

One must see and savor the mystical aura of this beautiful edifice to the glory of Jesus Christ. Visitors and locals alike need to stop and offer alms to those before us as well as for forgiveness for our our transgressions with hope for eternal life .

Dear CICD,I am not Catholic, nor have I ever been. I use your shiny gold rooftop accessory (real cute that your website is www.kcgolddome.org!) as a way to direct people to where I live, and for nothing else. I could do without your tons of tiny crosses as "gravesites" to mourn defenseless behbes lost to abortion or anti-choice signs you put up, sure, but you're on private property and that is your right.However...PLEASE FIX THE CHIMES IN YOUR BELL TOWER. PLEASE. There is one note in particular that has been "out" for some reason, for several months, and it is driving me INSANE. I went to church weekly growing up, and although it wasn't Catholic, you still use some of the same hymns I had drilled into my head every weekend in your bell songs. It drives me UP THE WALL that someone hasn't replaced this bell note by now. It's just a silent gap in the song and it sucks. If I have to deal with your chimes starting around 8:00 a.m. every Sunday (and are repeated pretty regularly every Saturday afternoon/Sunday evening), at least update your bell in that pretty golden dome of yours!Or, you know. Stop running the same 3 songs 5830208 times a weekend. That's fine with me too.

I was expecting more of a'traditional' church setting such as Our Lady of Perpetual Help or Our Lady of Good Counsel. The choir, cantor and organ were very good, and the Mass was beautiful and traditional as most. The people were all very friendly, and even the Sunday evening Mass had a good sized congregation.
