Sides anyone... even when you prepare your own main entree it's sometimes a good choice to pickup sides elsewhere!Brussels sprouts and creamed spinach are the BEST here!

Big problems! Our server was slow to check in with us throughout the meal. From the time she asked if we wanted to see dessert menus to the time we finally asked another server (ours was nowhere to be seen), 20 minutes had elapsed. The first check our server brought us was someone else's. The second check was incorrect, and when we pointed out the errors to her, she argued with us (and she was wrong). Finally, we asked to see the manager. The server did not inform the manager of all our problems, only that we had been given the wrong check. After I had explained our total experience, the manager comped us our entire meal. Overall, the food was excellent (though each course came out with long, long gaps between). The server appeared to only have three tables--a 2 top and two 6 tops. Without the intervention of Kim Halloran, a managing partner, our evening would have been a disaster and we would have left upset and unhappy. Instead, we will definitely be back to try again another night. Thanks, Kim.

12/05/2024I have waited since this Thanksgiving to express my experience at the Plaza location in Kansas City Mo. Everyone has different feelings this time of year and some of us like simple pleasures like going to a restaurant on a holiday and expecting a good experience as I have eaten there more than any fine restaurant in Kansas City.I arrived a few minutes early on thanksgiving as my reservation was at 5:45...I approached the reception desk and gave them my name, they were very pleasant, I also reiterated my seating preference at the bar. You see I'm alone and all I wanted this Thanksgiving was to have a dinner and not be alone and I thought seating at the bar I might blend in with all the other people at the bar.Well after speaking to the receptionist twice and the restaurant manger a few times and after an hour had passed I was still sitting by myself at a table in back of the bar alone on the view of everyone going to the restroom. This situation was extremely uncomfortable for me and left me with a bad taste in my mouth about ever returning. I was already hesitant about going out alone but not being at the bar, the waiting for a seat so I could eat and the the disappointment and actuality of little or no concern over my discomfort. And after more than an hour of the most uncomfortable and embarrassing situation you put me through I left without having a Thanksgiving, uncomfortable, hungry and very sad , to make someone feel this way on a holiday in itself is incorrigible. My dad gave us a gift card for our anniversary. I mentioned one that I really liked it (Went to the one in Ohio when we lived there). So on a whim, we made a quick reservation and went in. This one is so much bigger and nicer than the one in Ohio. We were seated within 5 minutes. They had the ambiance going because it was a little dark. Lol Our waitstaff Cory was amazing! He explained all the special things that day. I was looking for a particular Mojito that wasn't on the menu. He said that was their old version. The new version was Passion Fruit. I really wanted the old version (made with champagne and frozen grapes). Cory went to the bar and had them make the one I wanted! It didn't have the frozen grapes but it was still amazing! Thank you Cory! Hubs had some kind of margarita. He said it was very good and ordered another. For starters, we had the Lobster and Crab Cake. It was delicious! It was more lobster and crab than breadcrumbs like it should be. So good. For our meals, I had the Kona Crusted Bone In KC strip. Hubs had the same but it had a different sauce. The steaks were a little too charred but the sauces on each made up for them. We also had truffle fries and asparagus. Both were cooked perfect. The atmosphere was nice and we had a great time. Cory is hilarious.If you want a nice meal, go here and be sure to make reservations. Also, ask for Cory. He was great!

One of favorite places to get into for restaurant week in KC. This place never disappoints. Our server, Michael, was friendly, entertaining and charming. I started off with their signature cocktail Stoli Doli. For restaurant week, I had their wedge salad, 8oz filet serve with mashed potatoes and cream spinach (family style) and cheesecake. The steak was cooked to perfection. This is mid January so inside and out was still very holiday decorated. Highly recommend coming here whenever you have a chance.

As always, Capital Grille is the spot to start any weekend with great cocktails, delicious bites and seeing everyone you know. We enjoyed Stoli Doli's and The Bohemian, Lamb Lollipops and Bluepoint Oysters. Food took a little longer than usual but was worth the wait. Craving those Lamb Lollipops already!

Got to try the wagyu and wine deal for dinner on a Friday! Came in for a drink before, their martini is pricey, but delicious! My friends ordered the caviar dip - it is light on the caviar and heavy on the dip. My burger was good, but the wine was the star! It is definitely worth the price, as the glass of wine on its own is $28! Service was great!

Awesome Valentines Day dinner!!! we had a rose waiting on the table, 2 glasses of champagne on the house a delicious meal, and complimentary chocolate strawberries. Corey J was our server and was amazing-very knowledgeable and very outgoing personality! 10out of 10!
