The Candy Wizard

The Candy Wizard @ City Market is filled with nostalgic candy and items for the home. Once we arrived at City Market, we got parked and went in. One of the first stops that caught my husband's eye was the Candy Wizard. We found a couple of things to bring home. Two hanging plaques(to celebrate the year we were born and the year we got married, as we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this year). We also found a couple of booklets for those same years. Next time, we may stop in and pick up pieces for the next set of years that mean something special to us. If you have a sweet tooth, you will be in heaven with this shop. There is plenty to choose from here. From candy sticks, the current favorites out there today. The staff was very sweet and attentive during our visit as well.

This place is a SCAM. old and overpriced products. Go to your local Walmart or Asian store instead. I wanted to fill a bag of rocks and when I got to the counter all of a sudden they have "rules" for filling the bag. If there are rules PLACE THEM VISIBLY. Misty the cashier was completely making up rules as she went along. Will not spend another dime here. For those who are wanting to do this activity please go to Amazon and type "mixed bag of rocks" you can get TWO POUNDS of the same exact rocks for 8.99 instead of paying 6.99 for 3-4 individual rocks at this terrible place.

Visited here on a Saturday and we could no control ourselves with all of the amazing offerings. They have a great selection of newer candy, older selections that you cannot find in normal retail store, some local offerings, and pretty much everything in between. The store itself is fun to just look around and window shop, which is what we usually do. But this time we picked out a handful of delicious sweets and have already enjoyed most of them. The staff here is always so friendly and helpful, and that just makes it even better. Definitely recommend this place!!

An amazing selection of candies and fun souvenirs! I have kids that are hard to buy for but they'll always take treats. There are some old-fashioned candy that they've never seen as well as twists to candy that they know about. The souvenirs are clever and not terribly expensive. We got a bag of interesting chocolates. Fun!

Holy smokes! I really believe that if you can't find a particular candy here, it simply doesn't exist. Everything from chocolate covered crickets to salt water taffy and Harry Potter-themed sweets are here. It was hard to choose what to get. So many candies from my childhood, from my kids' childhood, and items my grandson would enjoy, we could have easily spent a couple hundred dollars here. Yes, some items are a bit pricey. But the selection is amazing.

I'm not a super big candy person. I just want a little something every day not a whole box. But this place is fun. Nostalgia galore and plenty of unique options. I love coming in for the taffy and caramels. Something small I can carry around in my purse Not sure the brand but the caramels by the counter....so good. They have huckleberry, my fave fruit. But the salted ones are AMAZING. The taffy selection is incredible. I regret not taking pics of the signs so I could remember the best ones. Who am I kidding, I've loved every one I've tried so far Haha Very friendly service. Great idea to come here for movie/drive in snacks!

Great selection of candy (both new and old-fashioned) and other sweets. If you like saltwater taffy, they sell it by the pound with flavors such as blueberry muffin, buttered popcorn, cookie dough, strawberry cheesecake, apple pie, watermelon, and much more. There are also toys and other nostalgic items like vintage lunchboxes. This place is definitely worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth!

Wow, just wow. First let's talk about the selection. They had candies in there I had never heard of, ones I have only seen overseas, and ones I have not seen since I was a child. They had so many types of taffy that if you could not find one you were not looking. The novelty candies, I loved the spicy ones myself, were off the chain. The overall selection gave me mental and flavour overload.They have chocolate covered bugs and even a scorpion in a sucker, nope, I did NOT try that one. I love cinnamon candies , I was in cinnamon heaven here. The Candy Wizard represented KCMO with enough clothing, and original gift ideas that you will not forget about your trip to KCMO for a long time. You have to try the Jack Stack BBQ seasonings. Next trip to Kansas City I will definitely be going back, and I'm bringing my kids next time. Sorry no photos I was busy eating the candy.

This place is awesome . They not only have candy from the us, but candy from all over the world. The first time that I ever visited, my mind was blown. 10/10 would recommend.
