Went here for dinner at 7pm on Friday and was pleasantly surprised to see they had seating available. I'm sure that would be different had there been a game on. We were served promptly and the waitress was very friendly. They have a more extensive menu than you would think for a dive bar-esque restaurant. I had their protein bowl and it was very good.

This is a VERY local place to visit. It's close by home, and I know many people there, so I stop in frequently. I would classify it as a dive/sports bar with lots of TVs and always amazing people watching. It's in a strip mall, but very cozy atmosphere. The bartenders are wonderful and lovely to talk to. They keep the crowd in check when needed. The food is good bar food with some really good weekly specials. $1.25 tacos on Tuesdays are my favorite, and the burger sliders are really good as well!

I come here specifically to eat, and the food is fantastic and extremely inexpensive. It's insane how much food you can get for $10 on Taco Tuesday.Like probably any other sports bar, this place has its own very specific demographic type of regulars. I do not belong to this demographic, but the two main bartenders (for the time of day I go in) are fantastic, remember me and what I like, and treat me well.

This is a place where good service makes it's okay food experience better.I would probably never go to this place, other than the fact that it is next to my gym. This is one of those places that has it's loyal customer base that help drive the place as well as those looking for a quick happy hour drink or so. It will never be a Michelin star restaurant, but the food is better than expected. The bartender has a line that every bartender should use and that is :"What's you name? I'm XXXX and I want you to yell out my name if you need ANYTHING."I had heard that once at the Other Place on 135th and near Mur-len (review coming soon) and that line excludes confidence that you will be taken care of.The restaurant itself isn't that different from a hundred of sports bars in the city and the Bullpen is smaller than the typical sports bar, but it has a nice charm to it, like the owners cared. It was Taco Tuesday so I got two chicken tacos and chips/salsa. The meal, with a beer, should have come out to $15 with tax and tip but I upped it to $20 cause the bartenders service was just that good. The chicken tacos were okay, nothing you can't make on your own and while on taco Tuesday, they are $2.49 and even at that price, I wouldn't call them a great deal. When it comes to chips and salsa, many places will just get mass market brands and serve them, but their salsa seemed better than the store bought stuff but their chips were hot and freshly deep fried, something they probably didn't need to do, but they were mighty tasty and for $5, you got a pile of them. There are so many businesses that do the bare minimum when it comes to food, service and atmosphere. I find that the Bullpen takes that extra step to make it more memorable than other places in the city. I give it a 3.5/5 but since we can't give half scores, I give it an automatic steal to 4.

Nice enough place. Got slots you can't get on because they camp on them. Food? To quote another review. Bar food. The help makes the mediocre food almost tolerable. Bar bites drain the grease don't chop up the beef so much everything else try seasoning like salt pepper. I wouldn't tell people not to go here but don't expect much more then drinks

We,went here on St Patrick's day because I'd heard their Reuben was one of the best in town. It was okay, but it wasn't in the top few I've ever had. It was definitely better after I smeared horseradish on it. My husband had the fish and chips and said they were great. The service was fabulous. The interior is well done, and it was very clean, and a good variety of shows on the TVs. It's a nice little neighborhood pub.

The tacos are epic on Tuesday nights. The booths are solid wood and you sit straight up so they are extremely uncomfortable. Every other chair in the place is metal and just as uncomfortable and scrapes on the floor like nails on a chalkboard. Yikes! I guess they want you to eat and get the heck out of there!!!
