The Brooksider Sports Bar & Grill

This place is packed always on weekends and when games are on. Fantastic MIZZOU bar for games! Great service and bartenders.

If you find yourself in Brookside and have a summer hankering to hunker down on a decent patio and catch a game, then The Brooksider isn't bad. Is it a standout sports bar? No. Does it do anything terribly wrong food wise, also in my opinion, no. I've been here a dozen or so times, always when the weather is abiding to hop on the patio from the back parking lot and grab a drink and a meal (and more often than not watch a Royals game). Each and every time I can't say anything has stood out to be noteworthy but, all the options are solid bar food. My last time ordering, I went with a tried a true and something new. The go-to is always one of The Brooksider's rendition of nachos (and they have three); this time around, I went with World Series Nachos and added pickled onions- which are found on the Short Rib Nachos. All three variations have their pros, and it's really what meat you're in the mood for, and on this day, I wanted chicken. The price for the portion is pretty fair since all the nachos are under $13. With the short rib being the most expensive. They came piled high and evenly coated with the salty, white queso sauce; they had a good ratio of toppings to chips (and that is imperative in proper nacho construction). Now, onto the new, I decided to try a turkey avocado wrap and split it with my lunch partner. We both enjoyed it however, I had some qualms. Maybe it's just a wrap thing but, most of the time it seems like the bites aren't balanced. That is, unless it's a chopped salad that's then made into a wrap...now I'm getting off topic... The ingredients in the wrap were all fresh, including the avocado, which was soft but not mushy and a vibrant green. But, once I got a few bites in, it seemed like the rest of the wrap was mostly lettuce. Now, this may just be a wrap problem as a food and not a Brooksider problem with making wraps. Anyways, it was still a healthy tasting dish on a bar food menu. Here's the deal, the service hasn't always been great. This time around my food was cleared before I was finished and I still had around half (of my half) of the wrap on my plate and a load of their delish waffle cut sweet potato fries- which are an upcharge. So, I was a little disappointed when my food disappeared on me when I briefly left the table and my dining partner didn't have a chance to correct the waiters mistake before, poof! It was gone! Other than a few faux pas The Brooksider is a safe choice when it comes to casual American dining in the Brookside are but there are many other options to explore that wow me a lot more

A perfect break from the rain while still being outside! Their covered patio even has heaters to help dry us off a bit.Tried the margaritas on special for Cinco de Mayo and they were yummy!!!

This place is fun and relaxing. Just a few negatives but overall a solid choice for a sports bar option. Buffalo chicken dip-excellent Loaded potatoes/boats-excellent Steak salad. HIGHLY recommend this! Steak is great and salad is wonderful. Burgers and chicken strips-"ok" Tater tots were over cooked/roasted. Awful I tend to get excited about tots, so when they are over cooked it is a real downer.

So I came here on a Sunday with a group of 8. It was not that many people so we were able to seat ourselves which was pretty nice. The inside is big & has lots of space so definitely a good food spot for big groups. They have music playing over the speakers, quiet enough to where can still have a conversation.. but also loud enough to where you could sing the song if you knew it. The food was just okay. I had the boscoe sticks as a starter & it completely turned me off from ordering an entree. My siblings however ordered multiple things from the menu & I was able to taste them. I would no recommend the Buffalo Chicken Dip. It was not appealing to look at & taste wise was very bland & runny. The fries are great & that is what saved the review. The chicken wings were pretty cool as well. All in all .. I probably will not visit again, but I enjoyed the date with my family.

Good food, great beer selection, spacious, good service. My one big issue is that they charged us extra for a side of Honey Mustard for my fries, but did not charge my friend for the same thing. The other is that they charged my fiance for Ranch to go with her wings. I would not have

We regularly take our children here for dinner. The food is great, especially the short rib nachos. The service is generally quick and the servers are friendly. The ambiance is casual and great for families. This is a great place for a casual hang out or dinner with friends or family.

Love the patio, the place we go for cheap drinks, great bar food and hanging out. Been going here for years and best of all only a few blocks from home.

We came here for a Chiefs game and our waiter made us feel right at home. Thanks James.

My friends and I went here to watch the Super Bowl. The Chiefs may have lost, but we had a great experience! Our waiter James and the management were exceptional.
