The Borough

My friend treated me to breakfast at The Borough this week, and we had a fabulous time!Many thanks to our server, Redd--she was friendly, welcoming, efficient and walked us through the menu, answering all our questions. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she was able to modify some of the items to align with our requests. She made the effort to ensure we had a delicious meal and a lovely time there. I really felt cared for as a guest, rather than just a customer.The food was GREAT! I had the vegetarian breakfast sandwich, and it was SO delicious. The multi-grain bread was perfectly toasted, and the egg cooked just right; the cheese was melted and yummy-gooey, and the fresh spinach leaves gave a nice crisp counterpoint. The best part was the homemade tomato paste/pesto, which was REALLY tasty! We both had coffee, and it was freshly brewed and tasted as good as its aroma.The Borough also offers locally-made pastries and candies, and I bought some chocolate-coated pretzel bites to take home, which my husband devoured almost immediately and gave high praise.The Borough has a light, airy and open space; the wall of windows is really nice for letting in the light (and, I believe, in the warmer months, letting in cool breezes). The tables are set strategically so that diners don't feel isolated but neither do they feel crowded. There are bins for recycling as well as trash, and I give them high marks for their commitment to sustainability. Overall, it's a really well-thought out space.I'm so glad we have The Borough in our neighborhood! I'll definitely return frequently. It's a swell place!

Cool lil spot... nice chairs... nice playlist... extensive coffee selection. Grilled ham n cheese was awesome! Would definitely return....

Love this place. Cute coffee and lunch spot. I come here on lunch breaks and it's a great place to eat. Food is cheap and delicious. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito for food. For drinks any of their flavored lattes or flavored lemonades. The menu has expanded a ton since last year. You order at the bar and they serve you at the table. Service is quick too if you're in a pinch for time.

Love this cozy little spot on the Paseo!Setting: Exposed brick walls with local art, visible kitchen, garage door windows (lots of light!), a community board, trash AND RECYCLING!! (Love). They play jazzy music, great for working on the wifi.Good coffee, a beer & wine bar, lots of food options including baked goods and then more lunchy items like burgers. Service was terrific. This might be my new favorite neighborhood spot!

This is an amazing little gem! Great food, really good coffee, and a fantastic value! They have ice cream that looks delicious that I will have to be back for, and some incredible-looking pastries! Very excited to have found this spot and can't wait to make it a regular stop!

This cozy neighborhood spot is nestled in the Marlborough neighborhood. You can get coffee, ice cream, breakfast, lunch, view art, participate in a community coloring project or just meet up and hang out. They offer milk alternatives for the coffees and hot chocolate for non coffee drinkers. The owners are super friendly. This spot is inviting and inclusive. They close early so check hours before you go.Tip: order the tots they are crispy and crunchy the outside and soft on the inside.

My husband and I went for the first time today- the place is really cute and the food was soooo good. He had the cheeseburger with fries and I had the chicken thigh sandwich with garlic aioli and tots. Everything was really tasty we would definitely go back. Liked the music they played too. They have a little coffee area and some baked goods like muffins- the muffins looked good. I'd also be interested to try the ice cream next time too.

Cool little spot in an unassuming neighborhood that's trying to pick itself back up. Had a good coffee and muffin before hitting road this morning. Vibe inside is good, although a little messy. Seems like they are not sure what vibe they want, but still nice to sit and chill. Seems very community oriented which is cool. Good roast on the coffee and would recommend.

Came by looking for a place to chill and work from my laptop for a few hours and it was perfect. It was great food, and great service. Will make sure to come back soon to try more :)

The location was cute. The service was great, super charming staff. Really enjoyed my iced caramel latte, she added some drizzle and made it cute. Definitely recommend!
