First time here and I was astonished I've never heard of it..the stand up open mic in the back is small so get there early for comfortable seats..the comedians are local and small time with a few more popular ones here and there, but a great way for first timers to get their spot light and try out their content in a judgment free zone. 10$ was a steal for the open mic and they had improv going on at the same time in another room, so it's like two shows in one and you can go back and forth..they have a few drinks as well if you want to enjoy your night with a beer. We will be back for more laughs!

I have wanted to check out the Bird since it opened, I am so stoked for KC's comedy scene to grow. I attended the Big Dad Energy screening and it was fantastic. The crowd is great, the staff was awesome and they have a nice beer, cocktail and snack selection. The venue is smack dab in the Crossroads with plenty to do before and after a show. I love the intimate comedy set up in a large building. The bathrooms are particularly nice. So excited to see more shows here.

What a great little improv theater! Love these shows and the place is very inviting, great drinks and the bartender was great. It's not pretentious and it's true improv comedy with lots of different types of people who all brought a unique style to the stage. Give this place a try, or better yet, try a free class! I plan on it!

Located in the heart of the crossroads, the Bird is a great addition to the art scene in Kansas City.I dropped into The Bird for a free First Fridays show. Free is a rare word these days, and The Bird didn't disappoint. The show was standing-room only, and featured a variety of performances - stand-up, sketch, and improv. There are breaks between each set that allow for mingling, grabbing a drink from the bar, or checking out the vendors in this laid back atmosphere. From the sounds of it, they host a variety of events and shows featuring local and out-of-town talent. This is a great spot to add to your list for an evening out in Kansas City.

Can everyone please go to an event at the Bird?? I love this place and want it to stay open. On first Fridays, they do free comedy at 7 pm!! You have to be prepared for some awkward moments, but that's the point of live comedy! You trade awkward moments for huge belly laughs! They have a well stocked bar for purchase, and you can drop in whenever on First Fridays. I also love coming to their paid events for solid improv and stand up! There's no designated parking, but on a weeknight street parking is a great option. And I always recommend the street car on First Fridays and weekends. Please support these hilarious people!

I visited The Bird Comedy Theater during a weekend trip to KC. I went to a 7:30 improv show with my boyfriend, and we had a great time! The performers were hilarious and made me laugh so hard. I don't go to KC often, but the improv show made me want to find something similar in my area. It was very fun. The inside of the venue was basic: a few rows of chairs in the back and small tables toward the front. There was also a small bar which, from what I saw, only served canned and bottled beverages. I wish there were more alcohol options, but it wasn't a huge issue for me.

All I can say is the Bird is a must see for all. I'd highly recommend improv or stand up nights but no matter what you can count on leaving with sore cheeks and a happy demeanor. After attending one of their shows I love what they're trying to accomplish and am fully here to support/recommend it:)

I extremely disappointed with the New Year's Eve event. A group of around 50 friends gathered, but it seemed like only a handful of us paid. The event felt like a scam, with the organizers acting immaturely. Unfortunately, I found it so boring that I fell asleep, wasting my New Year's Eve and money. Definitely not worth it.They charge us $64 for nothing!

Great vibes and comedy! Open to all! Very friendly! Went there for their first open mic at 5:30 on Thursday and the improv show at 7:30, had some good laughs! Offers an assortment of beers/seltzers, had a few good whiskeys to pick from. Open seating area Can't wait to drop by in first Friday to check out their free shows! Would recommend to come check out and have some laughs or even participate if that is your thing!
