An amazing and beautiful bed and breakfast - incredibly HUGE, and such a unique and special history. The owners are family and have a rich history to tell about this bed and breakfast. We LOVED the food served for dinner and breakfast, and the pool was WONDERFUL, as was the hot tub. Tricia is just an amazing and wonderful woman and was so happy to help us in every way, in fact, everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind. When they hand you your keys, they say "Welcome Home", and they mean it! Very kind and open-minded people and I would highly recommend this bed & breakfast for anyone staying in Northeast Kansas!Oh and if you stay there, be sure to get the one-hour long massage for only $45 - their massage therapist is the BEST I've been to - in my life. Can't recommend highly enough! The only downside is that there are only privacy locks on the inside of the doors - at the time of this posting there was no way to lock the door from the outside leaving me a bit anxious about leaving my belongings in my room. However, nothing was stolen or anything, it was just different than most B&Bs or hotels.

I came in from San Diego to go with my friend from Wichita for a Stitchers Retreat at The Barn. Our group was comprised of about 48 women and we had such a good time. The food was great, everything was very clean and well maintained. We have had our retreat here for the last two years that I know of and when we asked the group if they wanted to do it again it was a great response from everyone. Homemade bread, rolls, and cinnamon rolls were to die for. Staff was great.

My family had a reunion here recently: Friday evening - Sunday morning. I chose to stay overnight with in-laws nearby. The Barn facilities were well-kept if a bit dated in decor. The rooms, from what I saw, were plain but all right. The indoor pool was very nice.As a day visitor, there was a fee to be on the property. No problem. Then we had to pay extra for swimming. Oh... okay, that hadn't been mentioned. And each meal per person was $20. My wife ate with us all once and I ate 3 meals, so $80. In all, the fees were over $130.The food was okay, but far from astounding and not remotely worth $20 a serving. If you wanted soda, you had to pay extra. Seriously? It was served buffet style and options were more limited than at other facilities we've stay with in the past. By the time you were ready to try to get your $20 out of the deal (i.e. second helping), they'd be taking the buffet down.

Some of my quilting friends get together at this place and sew for a few days during the year. The Barn itself is a cool idea and I really like that it's family owned. The ownership has transferred to a daughter and it seems she is working toward updating it- not so many plastic flowers everywhere. It's clean and the food is good. The pool and hot tub are great.

Our history club had a seminar at The Barn. Our guests came all over the country: California, New Mexico, Texas, Indiana, Virginia, Mississippi, Kansas, Missouri, Alabama, and beyond . . . Patricia, the owner, provided excellent customer service. With nearly forty guests, her help was a godsend. The food was heavenly. We watched as she made bread and rolls from scratch by hand. The pancakes and syrup (a secret recipe) were awesome. Meeting spaces were more than adequate. The wide variety of bedroom setups proved helpful in accommodating an event such as ours. The only complaint I received was that some of our guys didn't want to share a king bed. (My sympathy was next to nothing for these fine yet somewhat stuffy gentlemen.) The place is quirky and delightful and not like any other. It suited our needs perfectly. The pool and hot tub were awesome! Yes, the décor is a dated, but it is clear that Patricia is investing into bring the facility up to date - a project that is both labor and cost intensive. Patricia's brother and sister-in-law also helped out "around the house". They were all delightful. We have already scheduled a much smaller retreat in the spring. Clearly the family loves the B & B created by their parents and believes it is important to carry that legacy forward.

We discovered the Barn Bed & Breakfast Inn when a family wedding at Just The Place brought us to Kansas. What a wonderful place for families and friends to gather! Our family of five stayed up in the rooms in the loft and had a great time. Breakfast is all home cooked and unbelievably delicious. There is a rustic charm of an old farmhouse with the cozy comfort of a family-friendly inn. As we were unpacking I watched several guests check in, some of whom were greeted with 'welcome home.' Whether you're a first time guest or a repeat one, you'll feel right at home at the Barn Bed & Breakfast Inn.Our family enjoyed the game room, which was both a great place for kids and families to play together into the evening and a nice place for adults to sit and talk late into the night without disrupting other guests. The pool and hot tub are awesome and the many cozy places throughout the Inn to relax and watch TV or talk are so inviting. The grounds are also wonderful and just invite exploration. There are hammocks and swings to enjoy the Kansas prairie in and a little lake down the road. There is also a masseuse onsite who provided a wonderful massage. Patricia and the rest of the staff are all so friendly and welcoming. They are always available to help with whatever you need and are a delight to talk with.Whether you are looking for a place to stay for a wedding, a family reunion or just a quiet getaway, the Barn is a perfect choice.

My wife and I stayed here and this is the first time we have ever stayed in a B&B. At first I thought a single night at $185 was a bit expensive but the 2 meals we had really did justify the price. I would say almost everything we had was homemade....even the rolls for dinner homemade. The homemade pancakes were a very big hit during breakfast. The other thing that my wife and I enjoyed was the game room. We played several games of pool, shuffleboard, and even a few old 80's video games. We were so busy with everything else that we didn't even get to try the pool or the hot tub. It was a really good experience.

This is a terrific place to spend quiet time with friends and family. The facility is spotless. Spent the weekend with several sisters and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The food was very good and plentiful. There were ample options of free coffee, hot and cold tea, lemonade, fresh-popcorn, all day long. The aroma of the cinnamon rolls in the morning got us moving! What a wonderful opportunity to enjoy companionship where there are no interuptions. Such a peaceful place and Patricia, the owner, is the sweetest person ever. She made sure we were comfortable at every turn.

One star is too much to give this place. You might expect a bed and breakfast to have a historic or antique feel. Flower wallpaper, sheets and comforter from 1985 are not really what comes to mind but that is what we got.The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work.No blankets to be found in the room. Just the sheets on the bed with the outdated comforter. In the middle of the night the heat kicked on and turned our room into a sauna. It felt like it was about 90 degrees in the room. (There was no thermostat in the room.)Fortunately it was a very cold night so opening the window helped to cool off the room. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. It felt like box springs with sheets on it. If the floor had looked cleaner or if there had actually been blankets in the room I might have found the floor more appealing. It was hard to sleep on a bed this uncomfortable and I woke up with a sore back. I had a $50 certificate to use towards the room cost, otherwise it would have been $160 for the night.Even with the certificate it was still overpriced. A $39.99 room at motel 6 might have been better.Avoid this place. They will try to remove negative reviews so people only see good reviews.

We had a lovely experience at The Barn and have been guests at this bed and breakfast many times over the years. I have been to this inn with my husband for a get away several times and also for a family reunion. My husband and I love the pool and hot tub and the beautiful country setting. The rooms have king size beds and are very charming. The staff are very hospitable and make you feel at home. We can definitely recommend this inn!
