I am not picky. (except for peas and brussels sprout) I ordered the shrimp chimichanga with rice and refried beans. Chimichanga was baked but it did have a good flavor.I am sorry but the salsa was as thin as El Maguey and La Fuente. The queso with rotel was good. Rice was bland and I swear was Minute rice. I really hate giving bad reviews but with all of the 5 stars on here I had to give my honest truth.You know when you walk in a restaurant and the smell of the food usually hits you in the face? Nothing.And this is not Authentic.

Priced right and good salsa! This family friendly hole in the wall, is an Independence treasure. Our food was served fast and hot. Authentic entrées and courteous service has earned our business whenever we are in the area.

I drove past Tequileros on my way to pick up food. Looked like an authentic Mexican restaurant so I decided to stop on my way back through. Some of the authentic Mexican restaurants that I've visited don't offer seafood, so I was excited to see that they had both fish and shrimp tacos on the menu. I ordered a fish taco, shrimp taco and cheese dip.After getting home, I realized that the shrimp were undercooked. I felt that I'd get sick if I ate the entire shrimp taco, so I only took a bite out of it. The fish taco was better. The fish didn't have much flavor, but the condiments inside the taco were pretty good. The cheese dip was flavorless and runny even after letting it sit. I think this was my 1st time ever throwing away cheese dip, so you know it had to have been bad If the shrimp hadn't been undercooked, I think the shrimp tacos would've been a homerun because the sauce that they used in the taco was delicious. They probably have other dishes that are good, but for my personal experience I was a bit disappointed.

Great little hole in the wall. We came to KC for a volleyball tournament. We live in Vegas and have great Mexican food, so after our games we were wanting something other than bbq. This little gem is in independence. Worth the drive! I got the steak Fajitas and it came w a side of rice, beans, pico, sour cream, guacamole. My husband and daughter got the steak burrito w side of rice beans and sour cream. They loved it. Orders came out in a timely manner & nice and hot! It seems like it's run by a family. Great little family place. When we come back to KC again we'll definitely come back!

Very impressed does not do it justice. From the welcoming greeting as we walked in to the chips and salsa (not salted - perfect for those of us with high blood pressure!) - my asada chimichanga was perfect. Good quality steak, cooked perfectly. My spouse had the steak platter and the steak again was top quality. We ended with flan. Perfect for my taste. Not overly sweet. Now the extras that nobody else notices: a disabled couple came in and was seated at a table near the front of the restaurant. So many tones we eat out and see a hostess put disabled people in the back of a restaurant. When they left, the manager opened the emergency exit so they could have a closer exit to the parking lot. I appreciate people caring for elderly and disabled people.

Oh my gosh. The food is so flavorful!!! Let's also add their margaritas are tasty and strong. We ordered the carne tacos and carne fajitas and wow, great flavorful tasting. Don't forget to order their white cheese dip. BEST cheese dip ever!!!

This food sucks. The food is disgusting. The service is normal, not great. But for what I paid save yourself the trouble and go some where to get good food. My whatever beans and rice is disgusting. All in all move on from this place.
