We went here for an early dinner and were sat right away. The waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly. The menu consists of the usual basic Mexican items, nothing out of the ordinary. The flavor is good, and you get a lot of food for the price. It's a nice place to visit.

Ok Overland park, doing tex mex right. It is always nice when you stumble across a hidden treasure. We had planned to go to the brunch place next door but they were packed so we came to Tequila Harry's. We were seated as soon as we walked in. You could tell this spot is a local favorite due to all the regulars hanging out at the bar. I believe our waitress' name was Brooklyn and she was awesome. She answered our questions about the menu and made sure our salsa and chips (taco shells) stayed full while we waited for our entrees. My kid and I chose nachos. My kid had beef nachos and I did the "gringo" nachos with no meat. My husband got the chimichanga. I also had to get some tequila on the rocks of course! Service was hospitable, prices were reasonable, portion sizes were very generous, and the food was good. If you are craving some tex-mex this is a place you want to try.

The spices in the rice and salsa, were lacking BIG time, I also found a hair in my chimichanga and WHY does the chicken taste like cat food? Skip this place and go elsewhere

Stopped after the KU football game. Food was excellent and included large servings. Service was excellent. Drinks were kept filled and we were checked on frequently. They get 4 stars only because it was so cold in the restaurant. But no worries we will be back

Good local Mexican place with excellent service. They have a good happy hour and lots of regulars at the bar. The food is good and I like that I can order a la carte because their portions are pretty large. I love that it's locally owned and been around for a very long time. The salsa is great! They do have a patio, but it's in a parking lot, so I usually opt for the bar or dining area. Definitely will go back!

I haven't been here for probably over 10 years. We got seated but the server kind of disappeared on us for quite a bit. Finally someone else took our order, she said there had been a quick meeting. I got the Frito Burrito and my mom got a Chimichanga of some sort.We enjoyed the chips and salsa. My burrito was so delicious and mom really enjoyed her food too. We took a lot home with us. It was very yummy.

Tequila Harry's Mexican Restaurant holds a special place in the heart of South Johnson County, where it has faithfully carried on the tradition of American Mexican cuisine since my childhood.Tequila Harry's represents a journey through time for those who have grown up in South Johnson County. The flavors served here have yet to be consistently outstanding over the years. Although I like many of the changes and the new ownership since they took over, some mystique is different. They used to have THE BEST yellow cheese dip in the city, but when new ownership took over, they changed it back to some "old recipe" that tastes like chalk and has zero flavor. My best friend's wife literally used to go there only for that dip, and she will no longer entertain the idea. I suggest a "cheese-off" to determine the best dip! :)But, with that said, there are a lot of positives- the place still exists. Since the ownership took over years ago, they have consistently tried to improve the restaurant, keeping some of the old but making it their own. And there is nothing wrong with that. Back when there were minimal Mexican spots in South JoCo, Tequila Harry's was a staple, and it still is. The location is super convenient, and they traditionally have some cheap lunch special that fills you up. You can enjoy them in a cozy environment, whether you like watching the game at the bar or savoring a margarita on their patio. One of the restaurant's best-kept secrets is their jalapeño chopped salsa, an actual taste explosion with every bite. The finely chopped salsa has become a beloved tradition in my family, and I crave it regularly. I don't think it's promoted too much, so you must ask for it. Not to be overlooked, their regular salsa is another favorite of mine. The generously sized and delicious burritos at Tequila Harry's are a standout feature. There is a consistent speed of service, ensuring that your food arrives hot and ready. If you're drawn to the fusion of American Mexican cuisine - a little Tex-Mex - that won't break the bank, Tequila Harry's has a diverse menu that caters to all tastes. It's conveniently located on the southeast corner of College and Quivira, making it the perfect spot to satisfy your craving for delicious Mexican cuisine. #bringbacktheolddip

We went here for lunch. The server was very good - friendly and helpful. The queso caliente dip was excellent. The seafood enchilada was very average. The chicken enchilada was also quite average. This place was OK, but not the kind of restaurant I would go out of my way to frequent. I likely will not be back.

Love their hot salsa. The chicken tacos crispy shell is the way to go. Go to go and drive was no more than 5 minutes. Tacos were lukewarm when got home. Should have ordered lettuce on the side so could heat up with the lettuce getting warm.
