Tay's Burger Shack

Found ourselves in North Kansas City and hungry and remembered Tay's Burger Shack and the awesome grain fed burgers.It was a busy Saturday, but the staff kept the order rolling and the food coming out quickly.We both went with the Single Cheeseburger Combo and they were fresh and hot. The grain fed burgers are really good. I had mine with lettuce, tomato , pickles and had them add grilled onions. I also added the Sriracha ketchup . The fries are amazing, as well.Such a great place, it's no longer a secret, but it sure is good!

My husband and I are from Texas and we are visiting KC for work. We were looking for a good burger and decided to try Tay's Burger Shack, man did it Not disappoint! The burger was absolutely amazing but the Service was the Best Part!! Nick helped me out and got me everything I needed with a smile (Fork, knife, Ranch, to go box) he even took away my trash! This guy definitely needs a raise! The lady working was very nice as well I didn't get her name though! If you want friendly service and a Fantastic Burger definitely try Tay's out!

Tay's Burger Shack is a top contender for 'best burger in KC,' and it's easy to see why! Yes, it's a fast-food smashburger joint, but my husband and I find ourselves craving it on a regular basis. The burgers are affordable, quick, and incredibly fresh--no freezers here, just quality ingredients!Once you start coming to Tay's, it's hard to stop. You'll quickly become a regular, drawn in by the consistently delicious food and dive. I love everything about this place and can't recommend it enough! If you're looking for a satisfying burger fix, Tay's Burger Shack is a must-visit!

Always great food here and never an issue. It has been a while since I have visited Tay's and let me tell yah, they have only gotten better. The fries that are now cooked in beef Tallow... Wow!! Nice and Crispy and the burger always good. I love the Double with Raw onions added and of course. The house mayo!!!

Wow. I see where the reviews come from! Awesome burgers. Fries are a perfect sweet and salty mix. Awesome crew tonight--staff was friendly and efficient! A perfect hole-in-the-wall ambiance. Absolutely 5 stars. Delish.

Cute burger place, small and mighty. Menu involves burgers, fries, hot dogs and chili. The fries are seasoned with a bit of sweet, salt and pepper -unique and tasty! It's a small space but there seemed to be room for everyone who wanted to have a place to sit Unique, local, made with love.

OMG! Where has Tay's been my whole life? Honestly, it's my own fault. I've known about them for years and kept procrastinating on finding time to give them a try. It could be said that my favorite food item is a burger, so I'm always trying new places in a search for the best burger around. But I have to kick myself for not trying Tay's sooner, which is exactly how you will feel once you try them. The staff was SUPER friendly and provided me with a double smash burger with bacon that was cooked to perfection. Too many places burn the bacon and make it too crunchy, but Tay's does it just right. This is now one of my favorite burgers in all of Kansas City and I'm making myself hungry just writing this review. Tay's is one of those old-school places the locals rave about, so we had to try it. Maybe it was over-hyped, but we were not really impressed. The line was long, and the person taking our order seemed out of it and frustrated when I asked questions about the simple menu.The place was a bit grimy, the bathroom was kind of gross, and our table was sticky. The food was ok but very greasy. The burgers were small and very overcooked. The fries were pretty good, but also very greasy. Maybe it was the grease level I am not used to, but we all left feeling a little gross and wondering what the big deal is with the place.

I trusted the YES and made the drive to NKC from Lee's Summit. Tay's Burger Shack did not disappoint!!! Wow!! I didn't know it was all grass fed and finished beef. I was momentarily concerned that it would have enough fat or umami. No worries. It's all GREAT!! The burger, bun and cheese are all lucious. I'd give it a 7/10. I've only had one ten and not in KC. Just a super burger here. The fries were interesting with some pepper they added. I'm not a fry guy, but the reviews convinced me to try them and they were good. My wife will love them. The joint is cool and jumping. The staff is cool too. Great spot. We're lucky to have a place like this.
