Tay’s Cheesesteak

Friendly service, great food. Glad I stopped by, will return again. Hand cut fries are fantastic and they use quality steak and cheese. Drinks range from soda to beers. Has indoor and outdoor seating.

I was on the hunt for the best cheesesteaks in Kansas City, and Tay's kept popping up, so I had to give it a try. I stopped by around 7:30 on a Thursday evening, and it was surprisingly quiet--maybe it gets busier earlier in the day? I ordered two cheesesteaks to-go: the Travolta and the Effin'.Service was quick--my order was ready in under 10 minutes. The Travolta was a standout! The cream cheese sounded like a strange addition at first, but it blended so well with the flavors. The sandwich was loaded with meat, and the roll was super soft and flavorful, which really brought it all together. As for the Effin' cheesesteak, fair warning: it's seriously spicy. I love spicy food, but this was on a whole different level. It was a bit too much heat for me to enjoy fully, so I'd probably pick a different one next time.All in all, Tay's has definitely earned a return visit from me. The quality and flavors live up to the hype!

Lively, popular, and pretty new age. If you're looking for a cheese steak that Guy Fieri is going to droolover and have dreams of...this isn't your cheesesteak, but it's not too bad at all. The price is good, the value for your money is definitely there and the food comes out HOT, like steam as you bite into it hot. Service is quick, you fill your own drinks and grab your own sauces and food is brought out to you fast. Really the only thing that can't quite get it that 5th star is just flavor, without cheese or any sauce the meat would be pretty bland.

Tay's has been serving the best cheesesteak in KC since its days as Jersey Boys. Fries are very good as well. Can get busy over lunch. You can't go wrong here.

Best cheesesteak in Kansas City and it ain't even close! I've been twice in the last two weeks and it's phenomenal. The service is quick and the staff is very polite. My husband and I enjoyed our meal at a picnic table out front, which was an awesome perk. 10/10.

Tay's was really good! The Cheesesteak fries were my favorite! My husband liked the Reuben and the pastrami was good too! The pastrami was a little different than I have had before, since it was on rye with cheese, but I liked the au jus with it. Great place with great food and great attentive staff. They were so fast with everything we ordered.

I love a cheese steak. And Tay's is EXACTLY what I am looking for! Hot, melty, cheesy, messy! MMM! I went to Tay's for lunch and it was great! A bit of a line when I walked in but it moved at a reasonable pace. I order the Steak Travolta. Only waited a few minutes, 5 max. And the line had gotten even longer behind me. Popular place! Price is exactly where it needs to be for me. I tried the Sriracha mayo and I highly recommend it! EAT AT TAY'S!

I split an 8-inch "Effing Hot" cheesesteak and a Reuben with my husband. Both had outstanding flavor. The Reuben did seem a little skimpy on the corned beef but the taste and quality were so good, it hardly mattered. The cheesesteak was packed with beef and deliciously spicy. Of course, we also ordered fries because Tay's fries are not to be missed. Real. Thin. Crispy. And so good.Now about the price. Our daughter was with us so we bought 3 sandwiches (2 8-inch cheesesteaks & the Reuben) + 3 fries and 3 drinks. The total was about $48. Now, I'm no Rockefeller but $16 per meal for this quality seems fine to me. A McDonald's Quarter Pounder meal is $10 now and is engineered out the wazoo. Tay's serves real food that is worth the extra money.The service was good despite being obviously shorthanded. The ambiance is nothing special but the food is the star and the only decoration the place needs.

Fantastic cheesesteak, well seasoned fries. Everything is cooked to order. Portions and prices are great. Everything is fresh.

Absolutely amazing! My kids asked if we could come back before we even left. Service was amazing, and workers were very kind as well. Highly recommend.
