It's all about the experience at Tasso's. I'm sure any other day or night besides Friday and Saturday it's your typical Greek restaurant. I've been for the dinner show on Friday and Saturday many times. It's a ton of fun and I love going there for special occasions. I can't think of a place in KC that can match the Greek authenticity - from the decor to the food.My recommendation is the Saganaki cheese as an appetizer and a Gyro plate to share. From there, a Greek wine or beer would pair well with the food and experience.

Saturday visit was popping! It's a scheduled night of entertainment... Dj, belly dancing and plate breaking! Love it!Our selection included a house favorite Saganaki.. wanna see cheese to flames .. you got it! And the finish dish is soooo good!We ordered up, based on availability as they weee not serving shrimp and out of baked chicken dish were chicken kabob, lamb chops and a gyro...salads and side of potatoes to complete our meals.All was delicious with the Greek favorite of lemon dabbled around. Lamb was mediocre in flavor, just barely any flavoring but very tender and cooked as ordered. I go back to try something else.A bit surprised by tax of 11.75%... I don't think I'd ever paid attention to % of food tax and how it varies so widely in the city!

A group of us went to celebrate Christmas the Greek way. We couldn't have chosen a better venue. The food was superior to any I have tasted in the Mediterranean cuisine. These are full blooded Greeks, and they do it the way of their ancestors. John, the second generation owner, has a vibrant personality and is a robust conversationalist. He is an extra-extrovert and everyone he meets he makes a friend of. We all rated our dishes, a solid 10 out of 10. I especially like eating international cuisine based on the National Geographic Blue Zones docu-series and books. It details the lifestyles of those who live over 100 years in five or six zones of the world that have been dubbed the blue zones. These people are the healthiest and happiest at 100 years plus. They have consistently eaten the same foods since ancient days. There is a Greek location that is designated as a blue zone, and one of their daily rituals is to drink Greek coffee. I had never had one. But I was able to order one here. The taste was flawless. Not bitter or harsh. It was a languishing treat to enjoy, after a filling meal with good friends. And the piece de la resistance was the Italian chef came out and read my coffee grinds for me. Apparently, I will go on a long journey from home and meet a man, who may be a prince. Yahoo for me. There is a dance floor for belly dancing, and for throwing plates. This is a fun place that beats most places, hands-down. If you want to have a big night on the town, put this on your list!

We had an awesome night. Not only was the food amazing, the overall experience was different, entertaining, and fun. The place was packed and service was incredible. I also enjoyed all the holiday decor right now. We will be back soon.

I love Greek food! I was in the area to drop off a friend to her car and drove past Tasso's and immediately knew what I was having for dinner.This is an authentic Greek restaurant. The meals and drinks are rather pricey but worth it. On the weekend they put on a live show where the patrons can participate. Opa! Have you ever wanted to learn how to belly dance? Well, come here and you can learn for free! If your life is full of stress and frustration and you are looking for a way to release it, come to Tasso's and pay $3 per plate to break (literally on their floor and they will sweep it up).Seriously, it's a family fun environment. The owner is very nice and accommodating.

What an experience! I came for the wine night that includes a 5 course wine and food tasting. The decorations were cute and quirky and the entertainment matched the vibe. This is definitely a unique dining experience. The belly dancer was the best part. She was very talented and had many opportunities where she brought people up to dance with her. The musician was good as well. We got to smash plates too which was awesome! The wine was tasty and I liked each one. They paired well with the food. The food was overall just okay unfortunately. The servings were small but there were 5 courses and wine so it was not that bad. I just expected the portion would be a bit bigger for the price. There were elements that I liked about each course but I can't say that I thought any of them were that great overall. The elements that make this restaurant a winner for me is the overall experience. It really is like no other.

We went to celebrate two birthdays and the experience was amazing. There was live music, plate smashing, and dancing. The staff was very nice and in the Greek theme. The performers were very inclusive. We had a great time and was great with kids. I would highly recommend it for any event.

Food was already cold when served. While the service was attentive and the ambiance was pleasant, the food left a lot to be desired.

Came here for a date night and loved the vibes. Had live music starting around 7 PM and the whole restaraunt was having a good time. I recommend the salad as the Greek dressing is amazing. My favorite dip was the Taziki. Chicken was also delicious.
