Great food and family owned, very nice people that treat you like family I always get their quesadilla but the soles are delicious too!

Simple and tasty. They're serving simple, good food and having a good time doing it. I tried 3 tacos al pastor. Tender and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The tacos are pretty tiny, but pack a punch and surprisingly, they were much more filling than I anticipated. I've heard the nachos and other items are equally delicious, so I'll have to come back for sure!

What a neat lil food truck. We got confused bc google maps said it was on one side of the street but turns out it was on the other. So be on the lookout lol. $1 taco tuesday sign me up chief. They are pretty small tacos though so get an extra! Also comes with chips and salsa. Like damnnn wow. I will say there are way too many onions on it. Gross. But love the slight spice of the sauce. overall, not the tastiest but would come back for $1 and a quick bite. Nom nom nom.

As if we need proof Kansas City has become a *great* street taco town... Behold, Silvas, a food truck you are more certainly not going to drive past by accident. No, if you're coming here you either live in the 'hood or work at one of the big industrial buildings next door. But just cruising around for great tacos? Nope, that's Indepence Ave. in KCMO or Minnnesota or Kansas Aves in KCK, not 18th Street headed east of downtown.Taco Tuesday! Yes! Ordered two tripas, two carnitas with everything. Now, I admit to being taken back at the size. These are the very smallest tortilla size most will serve and with only four coming in at $5 (tripas were apparently $1.50 each on taco tuesday, not unusual), I thought I needed more. Half hour later, nope, it was perfect. The tripas were medium cooked, and while I really prefer them crispy because they depart more flavor (my opinion), I still found them very much to my liking. Juicy, plenty of good onions and cilantro and a side of sauce. The carnitas were spot on perfect.Bonus: tacos come in a John Deere paper bag. OK, that impresses ME at least.That's all it really is, a simple taco truck in the middle of a hood and you aren't going to find it unless you come looking. Don't be fooled by the size as I initially was. Had I eaten two more which I could have easily done I think I'd be a little less happy with myself. As it is, I adore this place and encourage you to give it a try. Great stuff!

I've been to this food truck numerous times and every time is better than the last. Everything we have had is as follows; Burritos, Quesadillas, Flautas, Nachos, tacos, rice, and beans. Everything is flavorful, tender, and keeps us coming back for more. Side note they have a nachos and a drink for $6 on Thursdays. We usually all eat for under $7 per person, so very reasonably priced!

Great find. Can't believe this place hasn't been reviewed more. Excellent, excellent tacos - tried the asada, al pastor, and chicken. Quite tasty, and importantly, they are consistently good.The taco special on Tuesday is stellar. Rated 4 stars for the food, with a bonus for the price. I will be forever grateful to my friend for taking me here. This is exactly the sort of place I love - family shop, surprising and unassuming location, fantastic food. Go and enjoy!

This is our go to on many days from work. They are so friendly, fast and the food rivals other fancier taco places. I'm especially partial to their pastor and carnitas tacos but also can't usually resist the flautas and nachos!

Update: No longer at 3711 18th St, Kansas City, MO 64127.News reports say there will be a new location, and I am very much looking forward to eating there, wherever that may be.

So I almost didn't write a review for Silvas because I wanted to keep it all to myself. Then I thought that wouldn't be very nice now would it. This place is great and really I want to see them be there forever. It is the quintessential taco stand food with a brick and mortar. They have a different special every day and I have almost had all of them. They are all amazing. I highly recommend the tacos. Super cheap. Super Delicious. Just like a street taco should be. This is not the place to go find something drenched in nacho cheese. This is the place to find a horchata and some simple street food. Don't expect fancy tables or very good english. Just expect to come back.

Best taco truck around I recommend the nachos so much food for a great price. I love their tacos and tamales if you ever stop by say hi to the family they are sweet people.
