Once again forgetting to take a pic BEFORE we tear into it. The carne asada burrito...decent portion.
Generous pastor quesadilla. Excuse the bite, I was hangry ok?

We are on truck #1 of our quest to try every food truck on Independence Ave and figure out our family favorite. So far, so good. I regularly see this truck parked out in front of Buy The Pound at Independence and Cleveland, and a quick drive down the street for Sunday lunch yielded only this and El Indio open at that time. So we had our toddler running around pointing out people's headlights and fenders while I ordered: a carne asada burrito for the hubs, a pastor quesadilla for me, and chicken flautas for the boy. The lady inside was cheerful and helpful. Took about 10-12 minutes to get the food but it came out very hot and fresh. A few others came after us so even at 11 am on a Sunday it seems to be relatively popular. They serve pupusas, an El Salvadoran dish that I'm not a big fan of so I didn't go for those, but they seemed to be a main part of the menu. I was a little disappointed that they forgot the cup of elotes we ordered but we forgot to check for it in our haste to pack everyone up and take our hot food to the park for a picnic. The burrito was quite good, as were the flautas (crispy and made from corn rather than flour tortillas; a nice touch), and a generously filled quesadilla; but I am not a huge fan of the pastor. Not sure if it was an addition of cinnamon or what but I will stick to ordering this at San Antonio down the street. The green salsa that accompanied everything had a nice amount of heat to it. Not sure when we will be back, as we have many more trucks to explore, but I look forward to seeing how it rates against the others.
