Tacos El Mercadito

Wow...first time i've ever had street tacos wrapped in tinfoil in my life.Guess that's a Lees Summit way.Definitely not how we do it south.Turned into mush n greasy by the time i got home...wrapped in tinfoil like an enchilada. Was tasty but not worth it.Too many better tacos out there.

Tacos El Mercadito may not look like much from the outside, but the food is absolutely amazing and the wait is very minimal. We waited less than 10 minutes for two large orders. There is limited seating inside but you can also take your food to go! The tacos are $2, a tamale is $2.50, and a side of rice or a side of beans is also $2. I ordered 2 tacos, a tamale, chips & salsa, and a side of rice for under $14 with a tip. Highly recommend trying the pork tamale! You can also purchase Mexican ingredients and groceries at this restaurant/shop.

Food is amazing! Moving from California to Missouri, it seems hard to find solid and tasty Mexican food but this place does it right! These are the "hole in the wall" types of places you hear of and I will definitely keep recommending this place and visit back when I'm in that area. 10/10 super recommend.

Mercadito is the right name for this place because it's a very small Latino convenience store/restaurant. I almost just wish they'd make it one or the other because it feels a bit cramped. The service here is average. They aren't overly attentive, but that's ok because I understand there are very few people doing a lot of work in a small space. The tacos here are really good though. We now just order online and take it to go. The tripas tacos are my favorite.

I haven't been here in a while, mainly because of Mali Thai being in the same strip.The food, people and prices are exceptional, but come earlier than noon because the it gets packed out quickly.This is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant/market around. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed!

Super delicious tacos! and friendly and amazing service. Tried different varieties of tacos, and all tasted so fresh and good. Salsa and sauces added the perfect spice.Came here with couple of business associates and stayed and chatted for a while. Will be eating here for sure whenever i am back in KC.

I always forget about this place when we play the normal, "what should we have for dinner" song and dance. Tacos or burritos - I love them all here. S U P E R quick, super authentic and super cheap. Win. Win. Win.

Good was really good. Menu was in Spanish so it was difficult what to order, wish they had a menu in English. Service was good but as I said I wasn't sure what I had ordered but it was definitely delicious. I will definitely go back!

The food was amazing and authentic. The service and ambiance was impressive given it was peak lunch rush. 10/10 will visit again.

It's a very, very, very small place. Looks like it's family owned, even the teens help out. A lot of stuff you could buy at Walmart, and nothing had prices. We regrettably spent $75 for a family of 5. The aguas frescas were good - we got horchata, and agua de sandía. Pork, and chicken tamales were dry. Tamales de elote were nothing to shout about. Born and raised in Mexico, this food hurt my heart! 3 carne asada tacos - meat was very fatty, I got sick. 3 al Pastor - hubby said it tasted like seasoned ground pork, and very fatty also.I wouldn't go back. They really need more help. I'm actually unsure of some of these pictures people have posted. The food my family and I were served did not look anywhere close to what these people have posted.
