Taco Via

I'm 68 I ate at the original the new place the other place and the food truck. 95th Antioch is only one left. I love the food but I have to say the help is uh. The place it self is run down. The seats in the booths are broke down. The carpet is rank. They don't seem to vacuum. The bathrooms a disgrace. And the video game has had a broken button for a month. The one good thing is the food is as it has always been. And the loud Christian music is gone

This is the Taco Via you expect. I love their sauce. If you enjoy smooth sauce, you'll like it. If you are wanting something like a picante, this is not that. I love the nacho (tostada, sauce, cheddar cheese, with or without jalapeños), but I do wish the jalapeños were whole. These are chopped. Can't help it, I like what I like. I love the enchiladas. I get one beef, one cheese, and eat a little bite of both at the same time. They seem very understaffed, like most restaurants these days. I stood at the counter as I saw my food ready (it took awhile because they were very busy). I was very, very tempted to take 4 steps and grab it from the back counter so that I could eat it while it was hot. But I didn't because they are doing the best that they can. Let's all have patience and extend grace to those who may need it. I couldn't work there and I'm thankful for those who do.

Look if you haven't had it and love it already this might not be the place for you. Either you're a fan and you'll sing its praises or you are not and will be a hater. Haters gonna hate. You will feel like you're back in the 80''s bc maybe you are! Taco Via is a Time Machine back to somewhat American style Mexican food. Lines can be long sometimes. Service is not always super upbeat but certainly nice enough. The food is great if you know what to order and expect what you see on the mostly visual menu. Shouldn't be nearly as much surprise as I see in other comments. If you have an open mind and can utilize a picture menu give it a shot. If you're one to pick apart every fee on your receipt while you wait for your number to be called... bring that paper!

YUM!!!! I must try everything on this menu!!! Reminds me of Taco Casa back home in TX!!

I've always snubbed my nose at Taco Via but this weekend I attended a birthday party that had rented out their food truck. So I gave it a whirl. It was good. Nothing fancy. Like an upscale Taco Bell. The tacos were good. Just meat, cheese, lettuce, and some taco sauce. They were good sized. I also got a sancho which was basically a soft shell taco. I had one bite of it at the party but then saved it for later when I'd get hungry again. I ate the remainder when I was too drunk to really give a review but at the time it was We also got chips and cheese and that's exactly what it was. In all, I will no longer snub my nose at Taco Via. It's a great drunk food option.

I ordered the combo platter. My "side salad" was literally just shredded lettuce. No, I'm not using "literally" for emphasis. I'm using it because that's what it was. Shredded iceberg lettuce with nothing. I can see from pictures here that other people get at least cheese and half a slice of tomato. Okay. Still pretty lame. The ground beef in the burrito and taco was dry and bland. The cheese topping the burrito and adhering to the paper plate was melted in a way that I have to assume it was microwaved. Holding up the taco was an upside down sauce cup crumpled to serve as a kickstand. Innovative I guess but I thought someone had put trash on my plate at first glance. In today's world the prices were appropriately cheap. That's all I can say good about it. I see no appeal otherwise.

I've seen people talk about this place a lot lately and decided to try it out. Based on thr menu and pictures, I knew it wouldn't be the traditional Mexican restaurant experience nor would it be authentic Mexican...but I still wanted to give it a try. I decided to go with the cheese enchiladas and the popular nacho. The nacho is basically a tostada w/ cheese, taco sauce and peppers and that's exactly what it tasted like. Nothing special about the shell, cheese or peppers and the taco sauce was a miss for me. I saw somewhere that the taco sauce was award-winning, but it wasn't very good to me. I even got a cup to try it on its on and didn't care much for it. The cheese enchiladas actually weren't bad. The order came with 2 enchiladas and was around $5. The sauce that came with them was okay but nothing to write home about. I was on my way out the door when I decided to turn around and try the nacho cheese. I ordered the cheese and chips to-go, which also came with a cup of taco sauce. I'm used to chips coming in a paper bag, but these came in a small styrofoam bowl covered with plastic wrap. The cheese was a dark orange color rather than the bright yellow color I was expecting. I'm not sure what all was mixed in with the cheese, but it wasn't very good. It reminded me of a vegan cheese dip that I tried once. I think this is one of those places that people love because of the nostalgia more than the food. This is probably as Americanized as Mexican food can get. I think the food is just okay, but if you're looking for Mexican, food I don't think this is the place to go.

10/10 - I looove their tostadas. I always ask for onion to be added. Their nacho cheese sauce with chips is yummy and they have the good ice! Little balls. Such a satisfying menu.

I came in to purchase an early dinner for my family of four. We all once our own sauce cup. I was given to the larger cup and I asked for two more and she brought me two of the little ones. I asked can I please get two of the large and she said no we charge for those so I asked for some more small and she rolled her eyes at me. So now I'm bringing dinner home for the family and they're going to be upset that we don't have enough sauce for our meal. . I will not be back as this is not the first time this is happened.
