Vacationing in KC from the Chicagoland area and wanted to play a local course. Quality golf course! Short, tight and challenging. The staff is amazing! Everyone from the club house attendant, to the starter and ranger made sure my wife and I were having a great time. It was cart path only but unless you landed in a bunker, you couldn't tell they had 4 inches of rain yesterday morning. Bravo to the groundskeepers! I will recommend to others and plan to be back.

My first visit was during the pandemic, so I can only review the course as it was allowed to operate at that time. The check-in process was quick, easy and followed strict safety guidelines, which I appreciated. The gentleman in charge was friendly and kept things on track. The course itself was in good shape and did not allow carts at the time, which had me worried from a walking point of view; however, as hilly and beautiful as this course is, it was not unmanageable to walk. For the most part, the other golfers seemed to be enjoying themselves, getting some much needed exercise and time outside and still following the safety guidelines. We will definitely continue to frequent this course and enjoy the beautiful views of Kansas City while working on my golf game!

Extremely disappointing golf outing. 3:55 t time and behind a 4som of push carts. At the t box of 15 an old angry lady drove by yelling we needed to drive back and return our carts. This was 730. We saw a sign when we walked in stating the course closed at 8. We assumed this meant the shop and not the entire course. There were also a few groups behind us. Why would you allow people to book t times they likely wouldn't finish on a Saturday? Why would you not be clear and transparent with the expectations prior to us starting? This is either a shitty scheme to gain a few extra bucks from late golfers or a clear gap in management strategy.

Played here for the first time Saturday and I'm glad we did.First - I really appreciate their online booking system. Please note - if you do a "pay up front/pay now" option - you'll save a little bit of cash.We did the early tee time. It's a smaller clubhouse, but it has a bar and grill. They even have a make-your-own bloody Mary bar which we took advantage of at the turn.Nice and challenging course. At least it was challenging for me. I'm a very casual and new golfer - so you're going to lose some balls. Sand was pretty hard. Difficult putts - but all in all a fun experience. The starter was a bit grumpy/rough around the edges. Warned me not to bring my own alcohol to the course when I inquired about taking the cart down to parking and then also grumbled at me about "driving in his rough." Noted!A bit of a hike for me - but a good course to check out.

Played Swope on Saturday with buddies and loved it. It's well kept and challenging (slope of 128), with plenty of uneven lies and deep grass if you chicken-wing a shot or seven. Cart service was frequent and the egg sandwich kicked off my round splendidly (the coffee helped too). Greens were in good shape. My buddy and I were first to check in. When the attendant asked how many were in our group and we responded 8, he chuckled and rephrased "how many are actually coming?" Apparently it was obvious that we hit Plaza bars the night before. Sure enough, only 6 made it!Fun fact: there is a great view of downtown from #17

After moving to Kansas City six months ago from "bi-costaling" in Las Vegas and Florida, I am really impressed. City government services seem fairly priced and reliable. There are plenty of parks, attractions and activities, and nite life. The people are a definite upgrade.

One of the most beautiful courses I have yet to play on.The Swope Park course is located within.... well..... Swope Park.If the history of this course isn't enough for you, the challenging hills and breathtaking views will. Driving range here is marginal at best. But decent enough to go hit a few up warm up balls. The 18 hole course is a very challenging course. Winding fairways and large variations in elevation make this a really nice course to test your all around game. I will admit though the grass could use a little bit more attention. The rough at times can be almost impossible to deal with. There are also a few holes with high bluffs and patchy grassland. I strongly suggest if you are a newbie at golf you bring a box or two of balls. They are easy to lose on this course. Overall, it's a great place to play and it will push your limits reasonably without going over the top.

Iwas really impressed with swope. My dad and I were golfing there a few weeks ago and it was 110 degrees. The grounds crew was out wattering the greens several times per day to keep them from burning up. The course was a nice traditional course that has trees. There is at least one tree that still has a few of my golf balls.Good experience.

Booked 18 holes. The pro shop didnt say anything about having only 9 holes to clean the carts early until we finished our 9th hole turning on the back 9. Never going back very rude old staff that obviously doesnt want a younger crowd at the golf course.

Showed up for a 3:36pm Tee Time, played 9 holes then when we got to the turn they told us we had to leave beacuse they needed to leave at 6:00pm stating that they needed time to "sanatize" the carts. Rude old staff that do not want you to have a good time. I have never been mad leaving a golf course but today is the day. $30 for 9 holes is a rip off at a poorly managed course. They also told me I paid $27 but on my statement it says $30. Demitri has terrible managemnet skills and should be demoted to cart washer. DO NOT GO HERE!
