Swifts Cajun Cuisine

It's been 3 days since I was at Swift's Cajun Cuisine and I still can't stop thinking about how good my lunch was. My creamy pasta with Cajun seasoning was loaded with sausage and shrimp, giving every bite a chunk of protein to compliment the pasta covered in a spicy cream sauce - wonderful. I dined solo and sat at the bar on a mid Saturday afternoon. Good service from the bartender, a nice ambiance and some great variety of soul music playing at a proper level.Going on the "must return soon" list.

I went to this restaurant yesterday to celebrate my cousin birthday. Nice Atmosphere. Now let's talk about theFood great presentation but food arrived to table low room temp not even close to warm. Our party was large but kitchen forgot two orders and they had to wait and we were waiting on praying over the food but two fish orders hot once their plate arrived. Now two customers arrived 20 mins after our large party arrived and they sat at bar another two customers arrived 25 mins after our party both Bar and table got their food before half of our party. Cajun Rice needs a little more kick because it's bland, Basa fish which I order was salty not close to warm. I notice kitchen must make a large pot of Cajun rice and just add protein as ordered cool if rice tasted great. Slice of white bread under fish and Chicken wings maybe slice should be garlic bread.

My husband saw an article in the Kansas City Star about the hottest restaurants in the area. This was #1. Oh my, I'm so glad we found this place. The food was delicious. The service was great. The waitress , Kiara, was personable and answered all my questions. The owner stopped by and she was very nice. My husband and I had the lunch special, fried catfish and Cajun rice. Yum! I visited for the first time today and I must say that I will be back. The staff was friendly and attentive. I sat at the bar and actually planned to read. But there was a good chatter and music that I ultimately didn't. The music is at a good level. I always judge restaurants based on that. If it's too loud it's a turn off for me. They did it just right and the musical selection was great. I had the Cajun pasta and I added chicken and shrimp. The portion was huge. I think two people could eat it or let it be dinner and lunch. The flavor was great! Shrimp size was perfect. I will say, they should get pasta spoons, but other than that I was pleased. Even the bread was good. I'm excited to come back. It may become my neighborhood staple.

Listen up KC locals and visitors! I'm and out of town visitor staying at the Westin Crown Center I came across this restaurant as "Hot and New". First off, I always like to support new and up and coming food establishments, especially black owned businesses. Initially I wanted to Door Dash but being that they were just getting established, they were still awaiting their partnership with them. So I decided to get out of the comfort of my four walls and I am so glad I did! In my profession I travel quite a bit and visit many cities throughout North America and make every effort to dine at majority mom and pop restaurants. My home town is the entertainment and dinning capital of the US (Vegas Baby) so I can distinguish a bad vs a superb restaurant. There is one thing restaurants simply don't understand, you can have the most aesthetically pleasing ambiance, pricing structured to city that it is within, you can have good food, whatever, but being passionate about the food you serve with a friendly demeanor towards your patrons, with a serving of mmmmm good lawd.....you will have a continuity of success! This restaurant has all of the mentioned elements within their establishment. I visit KC every year and all of my experiences have been sub par and not enough for me to visit them twice. This will now always be a staple to visit whenever I am in town. Let me emphasize that if you like catfish you will LOVE theirs! My pasta dish probably had 10 scallops and a heaping amount of shrimp. Kuddos to the Chef and the entire team! Sorry for the long post, you simply cannot abbreviate what is being served! Midwest charm with impeccable service, vibes, and Fantastic Food! Caught this food truck at a popular event in Crossroads, First Fridays, where a lot of local food trucks post up and operate in a large open parking lot. With so many choices in one place it's imperative you stand out somehow. Swifts caught out eye first by our noses. The wafting spices and scents coming from the slightly indescript black truck were mesmerizing, I just wish the foods flavor matched its magnificent smells. We ordered the combo plate with chicken and shrimp; the total came to around $20. Now, the portion was pretty generous with plenty of plump shrimp and a heavy healping of Cajun spiced rice. But, we were expecting an explosion of flavor and that wasn't the case, the overwhelming seasoning seemed to be a generic Cajun seasoning blend which though savory and tasty it isn't anything unique or special. The shrimp were also a tad overcooked and the chicken could have been juicier. For a food truck it was a good effort but, with all the incredible local food trucks we have it wasn't something I'd search out again. Now, I know they also have a brick and motor location so, I'll have to give that a try and re-review. The gist of it was it wasn't worth the $20 and tasted like something I cook at home however, it's a sharable portion and protein forward- so the macros are good.

Visiting for work and found this establishment on tik tok and had to check it out the food look good online plus black own so had show love. Food was amazing like eating at the cookout with your family I got the basa fried fish and Cajun rice delicious. Sat at the bar and service was great as well. Nice location and inside is nice. Keep doing your thing Swifts. Wish I had a picture of the food but I was hungry and it was gone before I knew it #salute

Swifts' food is SO good and their service is impeccable. We were in town for a getaway weekend (we used to live in KC). I love Cajun food and in my searching I found Swifts...and we will definitely be back another time when we are in town.We were amazed how at wonderful the food is. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband got the creamy pasta with chicken. Our plates were cleaned (and tempted to be licked) by the end of the meal. We were too full for desert, but we asked for a description of them and they all sounded so good. Our server was kind and very attentive. The owner also came by to see how we were doing and we got to meet the chef. The only downside of our experience was the music was louder than it needed to be and we had to lean in to each other to have a conversation. Otherwise, things were superb!

Can not recommend this place enough. Some of the absolute best customer service I have seen in KC in 3 years. It is dimly lit, but lively ambiance. The place was packed, but the Lady of The House greeted us immediately and let us know it would be a 30 minute wait. After seeing a pics online from other patrons I really wanted to try it. Our server was top notch. I believe her name was Santara (sorry if spelled incorrectly). She was very attentive, and super sweet. She went out of her way to make sure all our questions were answered, and really made the whole place feel welcoming. I had the shrimp pasta. Hands down the best in KC. Very rich sauce, melted cheese, and perfectly cooked blackened shrimp. The cajun rice was fluffy and spicy. Perfectly toasted, buttery garlic bread. Will definitely be coming back, and highly recommend.

Great vibe and service best price for a meal in the entire city!! Looking for a place to replace Soirée and Privee this is it!
