Sunshine Flowers

Loved this place for years. Pumpkins. Mums. Christmas trees and fireworks after we blow it out too early. Today, went in for fireworks to reload the huge amount we did last night. Not only do they want to up charge you 4% for a credit card. But they are rude. They are greedy. And when I paid with cash (which we all know they will pocket) they didn't deal. I bought $2000 in fireworks yesterday for $1400. Today I got peanuts. I will never support this place again. Go under. You deserve it you greedy pricks. Tipped the kid that brought them to my car $20. Said thank you. And he apologized for the owners. Terrible people deserve terrible reviews.

I love this place!! One stop shopping for all your autumnal and holiday needs:-beautiful pumpkins (prized in 3 or 4 categories according to size... you can get a decent one for 6 bucks and a monster-sized pumpkin for 12 bucks)-pie pumpkins for 1.99!-all sizes/shapes of ghords (small ones start at about a dollar)-decorative hay bales and corn stalks-*extremely* friendly and helpful staff (they'll load your hundred pounds of pumpkins in your car, even!)I don't want to sound like a party pooper but I'm a bit over the whole "go to the farm" experience that seems to be rather pricey, even to a New Yorker like me. This goes for Christmas trees, too. When I think of the size tree I could get at a corner lot in Brooklyn for the price they are selling Charlie Brownesque trees at in these places, well... yeah, I get cynical. Don't get me wrong. I want to support the local farm as much as the next person but at a family-owned nursery like this one, you are coming as close as you can. I mean, I'll do what it takes to avoid buying this stuff at Home Depot (probably because I avoid HD at all cost). Anyway, say you're short on time and don't want to drive to a farm, nor o you have time for the whole experience involved... Thank you for being just a couple blocks away, Sunshine Flowers and for having such fantastic staff, quality items and prices.

Took our son here to pick the Christmas tree for this year. One man said "ignore the price tags we'll work it out with you" and winked. Found our tree and he was bagging it while we went inside to warm up as well as check out. The man inside run us up at full price and refused to negotiate on the price even though the other guy told us that. Ended up paying $65 for a small 5-6 ft tree. I will not be returning. (You may ask yourself why did you buy it then? Because my son is 12 years old, autistic, and has intellectual disability. It took him a long time to find the perfect tree.)

While browsing another's reviews (i guess the other 3 people can just keep guessing as to which one of them it is), I realized that I never wrote my intended Sunshine Flowers review. Since it's not super fresh in my mind, i'll be short and to the point:This year I wanted to get a real Christmas tree, something that I haven't done in years. My previous memories of tree hunting have involved taking snowy hayrides into a farm while drinking cocoa under a wool blanket, sawing it down ourselves and then going back to the lodge to drink spiced cider while somebody shook the tree and tied it to our car. This is a pretty ridiculous standard for anybody to meet.Well, Sunshine Flowers didn't exactly "meet" this, per se. But recognizing that no place in the city can offer that experience, Christmas Tree shopping at Sunshine Flowers was a very pleasant experience. A fantastic selection of trees in the middle of the city with a very friendly staff. They even sold tree stands when I realized that I didn't have one of those (duh). This was an ideal way to kick my holiday season into gear. It only could have been more ideal had it been snowing and had i had a cup of cocoa, but i won't blame Sunshine Flowers for the weather or my lack of planning.Assuming I'm still in KC next Christmas, we'll most certainly be back.

Every time we go there we have the best variety to choose from whether it be flowers or pumpkins and gourds. We just went to purchase all of our fall decor and it turned out great!! Don't be afraid to ask the staff anything. They are the best!

With planting season in full swing, I have been to Sunshine Flowers four times already this season and let me just say again, "I love Sunshine Flowers"!I have previously stated all of the things that I love about this place......locally owned, great selection, knowledge etc...Now let me tell you why I'm writing an update. These people are crazy. Dysfunctional family crazy. We smoked a carton of Marlboro red crazy. CRAZY GOOD! The amount of comfort I have while shopping here is unmatched. You leave knowing that they appreciate your business, sincerely. They will make you smile and make you laugh. They give great customer service and knowledge....every single one of them. These people have heart and I hope that every one that swings by finds the same.

I had been looking for some rather specific live holiday greenery, but wasn't having much luck finding what I needed. So I did what any respectable Yelper would do, and questioned the masses. Matt E. came through with his Sunshine Flowers recommendation, so YAY, Matt!I probably would've driven past Sunshine Flowers several times if I hadn't been specifically looking for it. It's a small local business, and this time of year they have Xmas trees, seasonal door hangings, and wreaths hanging outdoors - in fact, when we pulled up, an employee was outside putting some wreaths together. Since the first thing we were looking for was indeed a wreath, my husband quickly picked one out, and it was very reasonably priced.Next item on the shopping list was actual live mistletoe, which I hadn't seen anywhere else, and I was beginning to think I wouldn't find any. As I told my husband, we didn't HAVE to have it, but I really wanted some. Out to the greenhouse area we went, and not only did they have holly and assorted other Yuletide-y items, but there was my long sought after mistletoe, all bagged up and waiting for me. As I tend to do when I'm happy, I squealed with joy and selected 3 bunches to bring home. At $3 per bag, they were more than reasonably priced. In fact, the pricing on everything I saw was extremely reasonable, and I regretted that I had purchased some holly elsewhere, as the other location was less charming and more expensive.The lady that rang up our purchases was very nice, and instructed me on the proper care of my mistletoe until I was ready to decorate with it, which was really helpful. I will definitely be back to Sunshine Flowers next year for more holiday greenery, and probably before the holidays, as I think it will be a perfect place to pick up some plants for our garden in the Spring. I'm so happy that Matt suggested this place!

Sunshine Flowers has provided the bf and me many green treats! Let's see, in the spring we have purchased flowers for terrariums and during the holidays we deck the halls with their coniferous offerings. It may not be a large space, but they always seem to have what we go looking for.I don't know the ownership details, but I do know that every time I have gone in one of two people are there and they are always so very helpful. I also know that their entire staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Both my man and I don't really know much about the flora so we always have grand ideas with lots of questions. Sunshine always has the answers, like adding sugar to luke warm water to keep your Christmas Tree looking perky longer. Great selection, conveniently located, and well staffed. Oh, and I should add the price is always right! I recommend this place

No matter what the season, they have the best, fair prices and artistic talent. This is my go to place for all Nurseries, expert advice, etc. You will be so happy you will want to go time and time again as always something new to see.

Such friendly customer service! I came here to find some mums to add to a backyard wedding landscape and was super impressed with the selection! So many beautiful colors of mums, cute potted arrangements, and pumpkins galore this time of year. I would recommend this to anyone looking to spruce up their porch this fall (or any time of year)!
